Chapter 95 Forgotten

After everything was settled down temporarily, Lei Zhen used this opportunity to log out of Magnolia, coincidentally seeing Tang Qiaolian was taking a break as well.

"How's your dungeon progress?" Lei Zhen asked, heading to the kitchen to prepare some food.

Given that it's Friday today, Lei Zhen didn't need to work since he chose to work from Monday through Thursday. Not to mention, he had finally lowered his visitation to his sister, giving himself more time to be in Magnolia.

He could still visit his sister during his workday, so all is well and fine. He doubted his sister would like it if he constantly visited her all the time.

While Lei Zhen was patiently making food, Tang Qiaolian's smile was rigid.

"Lei Zhen… I might have to leave soon." She opened her mouth and said slowly. "My father is missing me and it would be impolite of me to constantly bother you."

"I see, your father must really miss you dearly. So when will you leave?" Lei Zhen remained calm, not bothered by her words.

They weren't a couple but great friends, and Tang Qiaolian had her family waiting for her compared to him.

It would actually be weird if Tang Qiaolian insisted on staying here.

"Anyway, I've heard the war of Yors Castle finally ended. Have you reached there peacefully?" Tang Qiaolian changed the topic of conversation and asked.

Lei Zhen nodded his head. "Yea, I've reached Yors Castle successfully."

"That's great then. Oh right, you should start stocking up some potions and other nice items in the market while you're there." She suggested.

"Stock items?"

"Mhmm, merchants are now flocking back in with the war being over and every one of them are hoping to form a cooperation with the victor. Not to mention, players are desperately trying to assist merchant to gain some discount."

THUD!

As Tang Qiaolian was explaining, Lei Zhen accidentally dropped a frying pan to the floor, a mistake he would rarely commit.

The impact shocked Tang Qiaolian a bit. "What happened, Lei Zhen?"

"Nothing much. Just a slip of my hand." Lei Zhen laughed awkwardly, but inwardly, he was cursing himself.

He had forgotten about Chris after receiving his help. No wonder why he always had this feeling of forgetting something when he was at the royal palace.

'Damn, Chris must definitely be cursing me a heartless bastard right now.' Lei Zhen thought.

Yors Castle

"Please let me in, I know your chancellor and cooperated with Princess Kate in the war." A person was seen shouting near the gate of the royal palace.

"Enough of your words! Any more of your farce, and I'll have you locked in prison." The guards that were guarding the gate yelled back, holding their weapons tightly.

"Goddamn it, Lei Zhen is a heartless bastard! How could he forget about this great merchant that saved his life!" The person shouting near the gate was naturally Christopher Rhombus, or Chris in simple terms.

He was agitated at being denied access to enter the royal palace despite him giving it his all to assist them.

His face was filled with wrinkles from the angry expression he made, and if he could, he would have strangled Lei Zhen right here and then to vent his anger.

And just when the guards had enough of his outburst and were ready to arrest him for creating a commotion, another voice echoed.

"What's going on here?" Kate asked curiously when she was about to leave the royal palace for some business and saw the guards yelling.

"Oh, Princess Kate?" The guards turned around and realized it was her as they hurriedly bowed their heads, explaining what the commotion was about.

"We have this person here claiming to be your ally and was a great assistance to the chancellor. But when we asked for proof, he couldn't provide one and merely told us to bring you out. Of course, we weren't going to listen to him since he's not the first one to claim such a thing." One of the guards swiftly explained.

Ever since Princess Kate's victory, there have been a lot of arrogant and confident people claiming to work for her to gain some benefits, especially the merchants.

Therefore, the guards had enough of their behavior and would readily throw them into prison.

"I see… then carry on," Kate said, not surprised by another person claiming to know her.

Right when she was about to turn around, she heard the voice again.

"Wait a minute, Princess Kate! Did you forget about me already? The incident near the road with Lei Zhen!"

This time, Kate shuddered a bit and halted her movement.

After all, only a few people knew about Lei Zhen's real name and identity. Not just anyone could be able to call his name out.

"Stop!" Kate yelled and ordered the guards to stop escorting the person.

Sure enough, when the guards moved aside and revealed who the person was, a wave of embarrassment hit her.

How could she have forgotten about him?

"C-Chris…" Kate smiled awkwardly and said his name.

"You finally remembered me." Chris felt like crying in pain when it wasn't just the heartless Lei Zhen that had forgotten him, but even the princess forgot about him too.

His heart felt like it was stabbed by a thousand needles when he spent so much money and investment into her, only to be denied entrance to the glory and almost locked in prison as well.

"Quickly release him and let him in." Kate didn't dare to idle around and ordered the guard to treat Chris properly.

Sometime later, Chris and Kate sat in a guest meeting room, with Kate sitting in an awkward manner.

"Haha, Chris, we were wondering where you went when we managed to make the princes surrender." Kate laughed.

"..."

Chris remained silent at her half-baked joke.

"Where's that heartless bastard instead?" He asked grudgingly.
