Chapter 139 Number Vs Number

Lei Zhen was confident that Chief Jaruk would do the job to his very best ability. After all, there was no point in trying to slack off and risk souring this perfectly good relationship between the two of them.

With the evolution of Chief Jaruk, his intelligence had also risen a lot.

Therefore, he knew this plan was definitely filled with more pros for his future folks than cons.

By the time Lei Zhen had left their new habitat, Chief Jaruk wasted no time to gather all the strong warriors to the center.

"Attention all Lizardark, today's the day we shall make history and set a flag in this swamp." Chief Jaruk stood up and announced thunderously.

HURR!

HURR!

The Lizardark and other species all raised their weapons as they roared and cheered in unison. It was clear they were all ready to fight and obtain vengeance.

'Hmph, black mage, today's your doomsday for messing with so many of us species on our turf.' Chief Jaruk sneered inwardly, his eyes filled with ferociousness as he couldn't wait to witness the black mage's demise.

His clan folks were almost slaughtered to the brink of extinction because of the black mage. The other monsters that he managed to annex also lost their habitat because of the black mage.

Hence, every monster gathered here today was adamant about getting revenge for their lost comrades.

Raising his sharp claws, Chief Jaruk shouted, "Let's go and exterminate those monsters summoned by the black mage. Let the black mage know how foolish it was to pick a fight with us."

With that said, Lizardarks and the other annexed monsters rushed out, finding their prey to hunt.

As for Lei Zhen, he had already returned to the main base and ordered an all-out fight from the get-go.

Soon, a fierce clash emerged in the swamp as the black mage had long summoned thousands of monsters to fend off the armies of Lei Zhen.

"Curses, I'm so close to finishing my research." The black mage cursed aloud, squinting its eyes and glancing at a faraway distance.

Subsequently, Lei Zhen felt a piercing gaze coming from afar, and it didn't take him another second to know it was the black mage's gaze.

Given the black mage's capability in utilizing magic spells, Lei Zhen wasn't surprised it was capable of doing this.

Lei Zhen slowly raised his hand up and gave a middle finger to the black mage.

Not a single word needed to be exchanged since this action alone was enough.

After the provocation coming from Lei Zhen, he noticed the number of monsters coming from the swarm increased drastically.

Luckily though, he was prepared from the start and had soldiers firing their arrows and spells respectively, creating massive damage to the summoned monsters before they could even reach their defense line.

"Heh, this number vs number tactic is working really well." Lei Zhen chuckled softly.

No matter how many monsters the black mage summoned, his soldiers were far superior in terms of combat and movement. It was similar to a monster wave being repelled each round.

However, Lei Zhen didn't let this moment of success cloud his mind.

Being arrogant is fine, but excessively arrogant would lead to failure in the end.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "Evan, tell the soldiers to begin the phase two plan. I don't want them to be cooped up in the same place. Have them spread out more and slowly advance forward." Lei Zhen turned toward Evan and commanded.

Evan nodded his head and instantly ordered a flag to be raised.

Once the flag was raised up high for the soldiers to see, they instantly knew what to do next.

The long-range soldiers started to provide cover for those melee-type soldiers to advance forward without being ambushed by other monsters.

At the same time, Chief Jaruk and his members were attacking from the sideline, providing great assistance.

"Damn it, my mana is running low if I need to keep respawning these monsters." The black mage cursed in anger.

The summoned monsters were constantly being slaughtered without a chance of fighting back at all.

And even when the black mage tried to reinforce one group, the other side would be heavily attacked, causing an infuriating amount of headache.

"Hmph, you forced my hands!" The black mage shouted and raised its staff.

Soon, lightning started to occur everywhere in the swamp.

"Oh? You couldn't handle this onslaught and already used your Lightning Cosmo Domain?" Lei Zhen chuckled softly when he saw the lightning striking down from the sky.

It was a shame that he had already anticipated this move of the black mage.

Retrieving one of the two scrolls that he got from Kate, Lei Zhen activated it and soon, the lightning started to dissipate.

The scroll was called Clear Weather, or in simple terms, it's an item that nullified any field spell type temporarily.

This meant that the Lightning Cosmo Domain of the black mage was effectively canceled without a chance of even being used once.

When the black mage realized its spell was canceled in an instant, rage erupted in its eyes.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen quickly ordered the soldiers to relentlessly pursue further, taking advantage of the Clear Weather effect.

It would be bad if the Clear Weather effect wore off and allowed the black mage to cast its field spell type which would degrade the soldiers' ability drastically.

'Only a fool would let its enemy recover during their weakness being exposed.' Lei Zhen exclaimed inwardly.

And just when the soldiers of Yors Castle were about to approach the hideout of the black mage, a loud explosion occurred.

"AHHHH!"

Numerous soldiers screamed in pain as they were blasted backward. Despite the soldiers being injured, healers quickly entered the field and cast healing on the soldiers, hoping to prevent a death from happening.

"What happened over there?" Evan shouted, trying to figure out the situation.

"Reporting to Training Commander Evan. The black mage is devious and sets up numerous landmines that connect to the muddy water. Our soldiers suffered heavy casualties." One of the frontline soldiers came to the backline to report the situation.
