Chapter 183 Telekinesis

When Lei Zhen saw the negative value of Candice's Mana Point, he came to realize the Mana Fever that she referred to meant an overuse of mana.

It was similar to the analogy of when people overdose on medicine which would lead to problems.

"Since it's a negative value of Mana Point, then all is well so long as you can recover sufficient mana." Lei Zhen muttered, opening up his inventory.

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom From his inventory, Lei Zhen took out multiple High Mana Recovery Potions.

Although they were meant to be used during crucial times, Lei Zhen wasn't going to be heartless enough to hoard them and allow Candice to suffer from Mana Fever.

After all, she had fallen to such a condition because she saved their ship from a confrontation of possible strong sea monsters.

Picking up one of the High Mana Recovery Potions, Lei Zhen slowly lifted Candice up and fed her the potion.

Candice weakly consumed the potion with the help of Lei Zhen. And soon, Lei Zhen noticed her mana started to recover.

Though it was still at a negative value, indicating that the skill she had used might have been her trump card or so.

Nevertheless, Lei Zhen spent the next few minutes, feeding Candice the mana potions, allowing her a swift recovery.

It wasn't until she had finished drinking the 6th mana potion did her mana point finally recover to a healthy margin.

Her weak and pale face was no longer visible and she soon returned to her normal appearance.

"Can you sit up straight by yourself now?" Lei Zhen asked in concern.

Candice nodded her head and lifted herself up to the headboard slat of the bed, leaning her head there.

"T-Thank you for the mana potion, Master. I don't know how to pay you back for these expensive potions." She said timidly.

She might not have ventured to the outside world much, but based on the mana potion quality that she had drank, it was obvious to tell that it was of high quality.

And such high quality meant that the price of such potion was way too expensive for her to determine.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen really didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the first words that Candice would say right after being recovered.

"Listen, Candice, if you hadn't come out with your ability and increased the ship knots rapidly. Then our ship would have collided with the unknown sea monsters that were powerful enough to bypass the boundary lines." Lei Zhen said in a solemn tone.

And he continued, "Therefore, the mana recovery potions are something that you have earned yourself. I wouldn't be heartless enough to charge you for it when you just saved everyone's lives on this ship."

Candice remained silent for a few seconds before staring right at him.

"You just want to know about my ability, right?" She asked.

Speechless, Lei Zhen was completely speechless at the accusation.

"How could you even accuse me of that?" Lei Zhen said in sorrow.

"Even if that's the case, me trying to save you from the mana fever is genuine." He added.

It would be a lie to say he wasn't interested in Candice's ability to suddenly create an impossible feat into something possible.

He had checked the ship's knot meter previously, and the highest possible knot their ship could run in was 25. Yet due to Candice's ability, the knot speed had gone to 60, something that should have broken down the ship systems completely.

However, everything was still intact besides a few damages here and there.

Candice sighed softly when Lei Zhen revealed his motive. Though she could still tell that he was genuine when he saw her being fallen to the Mana Fever state.

Through the wind, she could discern whether a person was lying or not. Hence, she didn't mind Lei Zhen wanting to know about her ability.

It was human's nature to always want to explore the unknown.

"It's Telekinesis," Candice replied.

"Telekinesis?" Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow. "By telekinesis, do you mean the supposed ability to move objects at a distance by mental power or other nonphysical means?"

Candice nodded her head but also shook her head.

"The definition is not wrong but also not correct at the same time. My power was branched from the Shrine Priestess' ability and to humans who usually refer to those who can use magic as mages. You can call my ability a subclass of it or a deviation." She explained.

Alas, the explanation that Candice gave was simply more complicated than the one Lei Zhen had come up with.

In fact, his head started to hurt a little bit from the stretched explanation.

"Anyway, the telekinesis power you just did means it's a unique power of yours, right?" Lei Zhen asked to clarify things.

Given that she said the power was a branch form of their Shrine Priestess, Lei Zhen doubted it was a power that was common to others.

Not to mention, it was such a broken power if mastered properly.

No one would allow such a broken power mechanism to exist, game or not.

"Telekinesis drains a lot of mana and without proper training, one could be decimated into tiny dust when trying to manipulate things beyond their powers," Candice said, her expression slightly becoming downcast.

For her expression to subtly change when mentioning one can be decimated if they used the ability improperly, Lei Zhen could somewhat infer that there were more high elves like her that could use such an ability.

"I see… then I suppose you can take a rest here in this room. No one would bother you while you recover." Lei Zhen stood up and said.

Although the information he gained was not much, it was fruitful enough to realize that Howard had truly bought a gem in the rough.

'Telekinesis… What an unbelievable source of power to be feared? Could this source of power also be the reason why they got invaded?' He thought to himself.
