Chapter 184 Situation At Sea

Lei Zhen had already gone to meet up with Howard once Candice recovered to a somewhat healthy state.

After all, he still needed to enquire about the damages that they had taken from the sudden increase in speed.

"How many crewmen were injured by the unexpected speed, Howard?" Lei Zhen asked.

"We have about 3 crewmen that fractured their neck slightly and another 2 crewmen that have some light injuries. Other than that, most of the crewmen were experienced people and managed to latch onto something to hold during the incident." Howard reported back, giving Lei Zhen a thorough list.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

In total, there were about 5 crewmen injured out of the 12 crewmen that they had hired and a chef to cook food for them. The number of injured was less than half the total number and was already better than what he had hoped for.

If more than half their crewmen were injured by the incident, then their sailing plan might have to be delayed.

Luckily, Howard had a keen eye for people and didn't hire mediocre people.

"Alright, make sure to have others tend to the injuries and let them rest for a day or so. As for the sailing, we can turn the knot speed down to around 10 and lower their task for the moment." Lei Zhen ordered.

Given that such an incident was unexpected, Lei Zhen didn't wish to rush the crewmen back to work immediately. That would result in discontent from them and that was not what Lei Zhen would want.

As the employer, it was his responsibility to have his employees maintain a healthy work cycle and a comfortable working environment.

"Understood, Chancellor. I'll get that done right away." Howard nodded his head.

However, before he could take off to complete the task, Lei Zhen told him to come to the Control Room once he was done.

The ship would also be put in autopilot mode since Howard was not able to steer the ship manually now that there are problems arising.

The autopilot mode function was nice, but Lei Zhen had originally wanted Howard to drive the ship to gain more experience.

After all, if an autopilot mode function was to fail, then it would become problematic when no one else knows how to steer the ship.

Sometime later, Lei Zhen waited patiently in the Control Room while analyzing the previous incident.

The radar scanner had every recording saved in a file, so Lei Zhen was able to go back to the saved files to check what happened exactly.

"The sea level was normal despite the commotion created by these four sea monsters. The detection range also failed to detect them properly until it was too late. This is too many coincidences at once." Lei Zhen muttered, checking every data to come up with a logical conclusion.

He did not believe in coincidences, and for the four sea monsters to be perfectly timed to collide with their ship, Lei Zhen was afraid that someone else was behind the scene.

However, he couldn't pinpoint who the culprit would be nor how was it possible for them to do such a thing?

'Can this really be a simple coincidence and I'm just unlucky in the end?' Lei Zhen exclaimed inwardly, feeling lost by the situation.

While he was getting a headache over the incident, Howard knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Oh, you're done with the task?"

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom "Yes, Chancellor. The crewmen are now eating food cooked by the chef and resting at the moment."

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Anyway, I have gone to check some data regarding the incident before, so I want to hear some of your input as well." He then said, pushing the data for Howard to read.

Howard spent a few minutes reading the data, checking left and right. By the time he finished, Howard's brows relaxed for a bit as he gave his input.

"Although this incident seemed too much of a coincidence, I doubt anyone is capable of constructing such an incident to harm us. The boundary lines are managed by multiple countries that used their own magicians to construct them. If a country tried to pull such a feat off, then it would have immediately alerted other magicians." Howard casually explained.

Hearing that, Lei Zhen truly wished to punch his hand near a wall in frustration.

Was he really that unlucky?

"The situation at sea is mostly calm and serene because countries had heavy supervision here. Such an incident like this is rare but is possible, so it's hard to get to the bottom of this unless we can capture one of the sea monsters." Howard said when he noticed Lei Zhen was not having it.

After all, it was an unfortunate event that befell them.

"Sigh, I'll guess we just label this as a misfortune event temporarily. Though if such an incident happens again, then we'll need to refocus our thinking." Lei Zhen rubbed his temples and said.

"Understood, Chancellor. I'll be heading off now to chat with the other crewmen to notify them that the problem is solved."

"Hmm, you can go then."

With that said, a few days had quickly gone by and Candice had made a full recovery.

And once she made a full recovery, Lei Zhen quickly tasked her to communicate with the wind to see if any events were occurring within the Sea of Terantia.

In the Control Room, Candice currently had both her eyes shut and her hands clasped together, seemingly in a praying position.

A few minutes later, Candice's eyes reopened and she began to relay what she heard from the wind.

"According to the wind that I have heard from, the Sea of Terantia is currently in a crisis. The underground sea is experiencing some turmoil, and some other ships that are far from us have suffered casualties already." Candice reported.

"Underground sea experiencing some turmoil? Of all the possible times it could have happened, it decided now? What the hell is this bullcrap?" Lei Zhen cursed aloud.
