Chapter 189 Sea Monsters

Entering the infirmary room, Lei Zhen instantly noticed the old man staring at the window in a daze.

As for the other three people, they remained unconscious on the bed. It was crystal clear that the other three people's aptitude was far beneath the old man.

With his mask on and everything, Lei Zhen imposed a mature and mysterious aura around him as he walked toward the old man.

"I've heard from my subordinate that you're called Peter Heisen, right?" Lei Zhen asked.

The old man remained silent, his body not moving a single inch.

Seeing that, Lei Zhen continued with his words, "We were sailing our ship and saw a shipwreck ahead of us. I've ordered my subordinates to perform a rescue operation, so shouldn't you at least be grateful about it?"

Finally, the old man reacted a little bit when Lei Zhen brought up this topic.

"That- I'm thankful for your rescue, so if you could kindly sail us back to Athea, then we'll make sure to repay you generously," Peter replied.

"Normally, I would have done that, but I'm afraid the shipwreck isn't that simple, right? The way you reacted to your rescuer was far too abnormal, almost as if you're scared of us finding out something."

"A shipwreck isn't a common thing, so, naturally, we're a bit wary."

"Indeed, a shipwreck isn't common, but that's no longer the case when the ship itself was carrying armory weapons."

And with that said, Lei Zhen pulled out a few boxes from his inventory. These boxes were something that Howard had retrieved from the sea near the shipwreck.

Of course, the boxes were still intact, but with his natural curiosity, Lei Zhen opened the boxes, only to be shocked that it was filled with weapons.

Swords, wands, shields, armories, and many more that one would use for a battle could be spotted on the boxes.

Instantly though, Peter Heisen revealed a murderous intent at the sight of their boxes being revealed in the open.

However, Howard reacted even faster as he pulled out his sword and pointed at Peter, warning him to not make any action.

The atmosphere quickly became tense as Peter glared at Howard viciously.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen crossed one of his legs and remained calm despite the sudden change of attitude coming from Peter.

"I suggest you not do anything stupid, Peter. Howard is an elite guard and could easily slice your head off should you attempt to do something like this again." Lei Zhen warned subtly.

Feeling the coldness of the sword emitting toward him and the sharpness of the blade, Peter slowly retracted his murderous intent.

He didn't dare to underestimate the eyes of a veteran that seemed to have killed thousands before.

Once the murderous intent was gone, Lei Zhen waved his hand, a signal for Howard to lower his sword from pointing at Peter.

"Now that we are clear, let's start acting like civilized people, Peter. I want to know why your ship is transporting weaponry." Lei Zhen asked calmly.

Peter struggled for a moment before nodding his head in a defeated manner.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ And right when he was about to open his mouth to talk, Caprice, the ship experienced a loud crash. The ship became shaky and seemed to have been struck by a powerful wave.

"Of course, the damn timing couldn't be any more flawless," Lei Zhen clicked his tongue at the sudden impact.

"Reporting, a sea monster has appeared in the East Side of the sea and has begun attacking our ship." One of the crewmen entered the infirmary and reported.

"That's it, do these sea monsters really take me as a joke?" Lei Zhen stood up and lifted his sleeve up. "Open up the cannon. I'll personally blast the imbecile sea monster about who's the boss here."

He then stared at Howard and ordered, "Watch over these injured and make sure they are unharmed."

His words and meanings were different since he was telling Howard to keep a tight watch on them. Naturally, Howard understood his hidden meaning and nodded his head.

As for Lei Zhen, he went to the basement and began operating on the cannon that their ship was equipped with. Originally, he didn't plan on using these cannons so early on since each fire cost a lot of money.

However, time and time again these sea monsters simply popped out from nowhere, disturbing him. There's a limit to everything and these sea monsters have crossed the line.

"What's the direction of that one sea monster that is creating these powerful waves?" Lei Zhen asked for coordination as he adjusted the cannon angle.

Candice quickly gave the coordination to Lei Zhen, assisting him from the back.

And with that information, Lei Zhen opened fire on the cannon.

BOOOM!

A loud sound was created as the cannon blasted a shot toward the sea monster's direction.

A few seconds later, Lei Zhen had successfully hit the target, and information about the sea monster was quickly updated in the system.

[Species: Kraken's Clone

Level: 62

HP: 39,500/40,000

Description: Kraken is the most well-known name of a legendary deep sea monster, which uses its tentacles to sink ships. Though Kraken's Clone is merely a cut-off part from the real Kraken, its power is barely 10% of the real Kraken. Nevertheless, it is still a fearsome opponent to face, especially when you're at sea.]

'Thank you Captain Obvious! It's not like I would think the Kraken's Clone is an easy opponent when it took only 500 damage from the cannon I blasted.' Lei Zhen exclaimed inwardly.

"Candice, quickly take the steering room and try to hasten the ship to get far away. We are at a complete disadvantage." He then ordered Candice.

Candice understood the situation was grave since Lei Zhen's attitude made a 180-degree change. Thus, she hurriedly headed upstairs to prepare to take control of the ship.

As for Lei Zhen, he could only grit his teeth and witness the money drain from his pocket since he needed to continue to shoot with the cannon.
