Chapter 209 Friendship Card

The two methods of gaining a Magnoroid Core were completely out of reach for the current Lei Zhen.

Not only was he severely under-level, but he also did not have much-attacking ability to fight a monster.

As for the harsh environment where a strong monster resides, committing suicide would be much easier than trying to court death there.

Thus, the only possible way for Lei Zhen to gain some Magnoroid Core was to pull out the friendship card.

That's right, friendship card, meaning he would have to personally ask shamelessly to one of his powerful friends.

And who was that friend?

"Hello, Qiaolian, I'm sorry if I disturb you with this video call." Lei Zhen smiled gracefully when he saw Tang Qiaolian's face on the screen.

Tang Qiaolian raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you smiling like that, Lei Zhen?" She asked doubtfully. It was clear that she sensed something was wrong with the current Lei Zhen.

Just the initiative of him calling her had caused quite a surprise to her when she went to check who would call her at this time in Magnolia.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen scratched his head and tried to play it innocently first.

After all, it would be rude of him to straight up ask her for something so precious unannounced without having a proper conversation first.

Alas, his current conduct behavior was so different from his usual self, causing Tang Qiaolian to be even more suspicious.

"Are you being threatened by someone currently? Tell me your location. I'll send someone to assist you right away." Tang Qiaolian completely misread the situation and thought Lei Zhen was in a pickle.

Lei Zhen was on the verge of crying when his intention backfired.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "N-No, Qiaolian, I'm not in any danger whatsoever. I just have a favor to ask of you, and it's not an easy one." He explained nervously.

"Then why are you acting so weird? You usually just get straight to the point, but now you're behaving worse than some of the most insecure women I have met in life." Tang Qiaolian said straightforwardly and bluntly.

It was clear that she would be completely honest to those she trusted and cared for, not hiding anything in her mind.

Lei Zhen smiled sheepishly as he asked, "By any chance, do you have some Magnoroid Core in stock? I happen to be needing some of them."

"Magnoroid Core?" Tang Qiaolian was taken aback when she heard Lei Zhen asking for such an expensive and rare item.

"Is it not possible?"

"No, that's not the problem. It's just that our stock is always low on Magnoroid Core and needed it for the guild members' equipment. The best I can do is give you one."

"That's still better than nothing. I appreciate your help." Lei Zhen said sincerely. Just being able to obtain one from her was enough to say the friendship card worked well.

He knew she had her own difficulty but was still willing to assist him.

Such friendships are rarely seen nowadays where profits are king and everything else is nonexistent.

After chatting a bit more, they ended the call and Lei Zhen received the Magnoroid Core sent by her a few minutes later.

With one of the Magnoroid Core received, Lei Zhen subsequently returned to the room with a smug expression.

"Here's the Magnoroid Core, Senior Smither." Lei Zhen said proudly.

Smither Gary was unfazed as he stared at Lei Zhen. "You do know that one Magnoroid Core isn't enough for the request you're demanding, right? At the very minimum, you'll need at least 10-20 Magnoroid Core for the process to even have a successful ratio."

"What?!"

There was a dazed look on his face and Lei Zhen's previous smug expression turned into a sullen one.

Smither Gary had never informed him that it would require so many Magnoroid Cores to craft one.

All he said was a Magnoroid Core and a growth-type weapon and that was it.

Meanwhile, Smither Gary scoffed coldly as he pointed at a shelf that stored numerous weapons.

"Do you see those weapons on the shelves? All of them were crafted with a minimum of 7 Magnoroid Cores despite my proficiency in smithing." Smither Gary said coldly.

And he continued, "Not to mention, you want a weapon that could transform its type at will. I'll be honest with you. You'll need to be prepared to sacrifice at least 200-300 Magnoroid Cores for me to craft it."

It was as if Lei Zhen was hit with a falling rock as despair could be seen on his face. His naivety in thinking of crafting a transform weapon type had caused him to commit such a blunder.

Who would have thought that crafting was even more expensive than building a structure?

'This is even worse than those gacha games that I have heard about. The rate of success in blacksmithing one transformative weapon is worse than them pulling a rare 5-star character.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.

"Master, you shouldn't worry too much. The wind told me you are blessed and will succeed in getting it." Candice suddenly cheered from the sideline.

"Hahaha, this brat is blessed? If he is blessed, then I'm the greatest blacksmith in the world." Smither Gary teased and laughed aloud.

Little did he know that he was indeed regarded as one of the greatest blacksmiths.

"You know, Candice. I was skeptical at first, thinking that you are just trying to cheer me up. But since Senior Smither is that confident in himself, then let's do it." Lei Zhen gave her a thumbs up.

If Smither Gary is not considered the greatest blacksmith, then Lei Zhen is indeed not blessed.

However, if Smither Gary was the greatest blacksmith as the rumors suggested, then Lei Zhen is indeed blessed.

Which means he might get lucky and obtain the weapon he wanted.

Five hours later, Smither Gary laughed heartily as he patted Lei Zhen's shoulder.

"Sorry brat, but it seems like you're going to need another Magnoroid Core."
