Chapter 265 Poor Fellow

After leaving the town, Samantha followed the map to the location of her quest. The distance wasn't quite far and she could see players walking back and forth occasionally.

Since the quest was basic, it wasn't a surprise to see a lot of players taking the same route to hunt their respective monsters.

Though one thing Samantha noticed was that some players seemed to know exactly what they were doing while some players were confused and doing random things.

'I guess those experienced players are smurfers. What a sham for Magnolia to not be able to prevent them?' Samantha thought to herself.

Smurfers, a term used for experienced players purposely creating a new account or character to play in a low-level environment.

Magnolia might be a sensational game that affected the world, but even a sensational game would have bugs and failed detection of people creating different characters.

Ignoring the other players and minding her own business, Samantha soon found herself located in the spawning areas of the slimes.

And according to the quest information given, slimes are gelatinous and ball-shaped with regeneration ability.

The only way to kill a slime is to find its core and shatter it, otherwise, the slime would always be able to regenerate and continue to fight as if it wasn't injured at all.

After brushing through the grasses, Samantha found two blue slimes gathered around in an area, doing absolutely nothing besides bouncing next to each other. It was kind of cute since the slime would occasionally touch each other and a small redness could be seen on their supposedly "cheek".

'Aw, how cute. It's almost as if they are telling me not to kill them, but I have no choice.' Samantha exclaimed inwardly, feeling a bit guilty that she had to kill these two slimes.

From afar, she could see the slimes monster detail and that they are level 3.

Clenching her fist, Samantha shook off the unnecessary thought process and summoned 4 skeleton soldiers at once.

The skeleton soldiers were only around the height of 121 centimeters, and each of them was holding a small sword. They oozed out some dark aura around their body, seemingly indicating that they are dead already as if it wasn't obvious enough.

With the skeleton soldiers summoned, it created quite a commotion, prompting the two slimes that were enjoying their time to be alerted.

Samantha wasted no time casting [Bravery], buffing 3 of the skeleton soldiers as she commanded, "Go and destroy their cores."

The skeleton soldiers made growling sounds simultaneously as they received the command from Samantha. She was their summoner and their absolute commander. Her orders were final and their loyalty was unmatched.

As the skeleton soldiers charged forward, only three of them were noticeably faster compared to the unfortunate one who didn't receive the Bravery buffing.

Meanwhile, the two slimes were agitated and began to turn aggressive, clearly enraged at being attacked.

The two slimes opened their mouths wide and began shooting some acid liquid at the skeleton soldiers.

However, the speed of the skeleton soldiers had been buffed, so they were able to dodge the acid liquid and counterattack right away.

With one thrust of their sword, the skeleton soldier accurately struck the slime's core, effectively killing it.

When the other slime realized its companion was killed, its blue color quickly changed to red color and its speed seemed to have increased by a large margin.

It was able to avoid the other skeleton soldier's sword and fired its acid liquid rapidly at them.

And of course, the one who failed to react in time was the one that didn't receive the Bravery buff. The acid liquid landed directly at its chest, and soon the white bones started to corrode into blackish color.

Samantha thought this poor fellow was going to die, but to her surprise, the skeleton soldier managed to stand his ground and retain his fighting spirit.

"That's right, skelly. Don't let some acid liquid drag you down. Go and get your revenge." Samantha cheered excitedly, feeling a gush of anticipation to see her summoned skeleton soldier to win.

Being cheered like that, the skeleton soldier's enthusiasm noticeably increased as it charged forward without hesitation, swinging the small sword left and right.

After a 2 minute long battle of back and forth, the skeleton soldier finally managed to kill the enraged slime. As for the other three buffed skeleton soldiers, they made a clunking type of sound with their swords, seemingly cheering the unbuffed soldier for its victory.

While the skeleton soldiers began to motivate each other, Samantha went to check up on her status, and sure enough, she had leveled up once after having the two level 3 slimes killed.

Unlike Lei Zhen who barely gained any experience points from the beginning, Samantha didn't have that kind of problem and received a good amount of experience points.

After all, the slimes are natural-born monsters in the environment and not some summoned creatures created by a black mage or other summoners.

"Good job, Skelly. I knew you had it in you the moment I summoned you." Samantha gave a thumbs up to the unbuffed skeleton soldier, causing it to act shy.

And when she saw their realistic-like behavior, she didn't have the heart to unsummon them. They were actually very strong compared to her initial prejudice of them being some weak soldiers that had zero intelligence.

'It'll be a shame to have them unsummon when they seemed to be able to understand and react in time.' Samantha thought to herself.

She then opened up her skill tree and realized if she gained three more levels, then she would unlock a new skill called [Saved Summons].

The [Saved Summons] might be locked at the moment, but she could still read the description of the skill.

A creepy smile soon appeared on her face when she finished reading the description.

"Hehe, Skelly and you three, do you wish to stay with me?" Samantha asked the skeleton soldiers.

Although the skeleton soldiers couldn't talk, their actions of raising their swords high up seemed to indicate that they understood Samantha's words.

Samantha nodded her head.

"Alright then, let's go and kill some more slimes!"
