Chapter 99 99 War Zone

"Phew...at least I escaped" the archer said.

"I don't think you did" Alex said behind their archer.

"Don't try anything funny, you are an archer and both of my daggers are already ready to tear you apart" Alex whispered.

"Why do you want?" the Archer asked.

"Why do you think I want something?"

"Because you would have killed me if you didn't want something, what do you want?" the Archer asked again.

"Such arrogance from someone close to his death, don't worry your account won't be terminated" Alex whispered.

"Wait... I know you want something, just tell me what it is, I have money in real life"

"Then buy another VR helmet"

[You killed player Alien!]

[You have earned 100XP!]

[You received 100 blue coins!]

"I wonder who those marksmen are," Alex mumbled as he took a peek towards where the flames were burning.

None of the players around were absent anymore, but the flame was still increasing in size with no one to control it, Alex hid in the shadow once more and tried to figure out where the marksmen were hiding.

If he ends up in their line of sight, one shot to the head was all that was needed to end his life.

"Are you okay?" Bridget asked from behind.

"Hey!! don't scare me like that, where did you come from, what about those players?" Alex asked.

"Most of them are dead, the others ran away, the fire attracted different players inside the forest, I killed about six players just now" said Bridget.

"We need to leave here without being spotted, I would have logged out but this area is practically a war zone so it might not work" Alex said.

"Why should we leave, this is a perfect opportunity to kill more players and level up,"

"Kill more players...two marksman are stationed on the tree picking off players in their sight" Alex said.

"I already killed them before coming here" Bridget spoke.

"Huh! you already killed them?" Alex asked as both of them heard rustling sounds and immediately spotted two players running away at full speed.

Before Alex could speak two throwing knives already left Bridget's hands. She aimed for both of their legs and it hit perfectly making both of the players crash to the ground.

"Let's go" Bridget spoke as she dashed forward.

Alex wasted no time in running forward, both of the players crashed into the ground so before they could regained their composure Bridget and Alex were already there.

'Bridget was right, this is the perfect chance to gain XP' Alex mumbled with both of his daggers in his hands.

"What are you idiots doing, get out of my way" one of them shouted.

"Get out or you are going to be killed too" the second one shouted.

*Bam!! Bam!!*

Two loud sounds ensure as one of the player fell to the ground immediately the other one dashed forward to run away, the huge player who was part of the group earlier rushed out from the bushes but no one was there.

"Huh! I thought I saw four figures over here, he must be here somewhere"

The huge guy walked forward and as soon as he came close to Bridget she jumped out immediately, she twirl on herself and kicked his stomach taking the air out of him.

The huge guy fell to the ground but both of his revolvers were still in his hands and he shot at Bridget immediately.

Even though both of them were just inches away Bridget was able to dodge all four of his bullet with ease.

"Impossible" the player shouted as Bridget brought out a katana from her inventory.

*Slash*

With one slash from her katana the player's head was removed from the rest of his body and immediately all his HP was drained and his body turned into pixels and faded away.

"I got him, the bastard was really quick on his feet" Alex spoke.

Alex ran after the second player that escaped and successful killed the player before returning back to find the huge guy's body fading away, Bridget already kept her katana so Alex didn't see it.

"We should leave now, most of the players here are dead, the few that are left are far away" Bridget said.

Alex didn't ask how she knew instead he just complied as they made their way back to the forest entrance.

Since when he met Bridget, she had been doing impossible stuff but he never asked about any of them, Alex thought it was because she was in level 21.

'I still have a long way before I would reach level 18, and I still have 25 skill points for upgrades, I wonder if the others are also online now'

"Bridget I know this isn't your first time playing games right?" Alex asked.

"This is my first time, but I have tons of real life experience in fighting" said Bridget.

"You have experience in fighting, in the military or where, or are you part of a street gang?" Alex said with a smile.

"What's a street gang?" she asked.

"Don't worry I was just joking" Alex said.

"I know you were and I know what a street gang is, one night a group tried to steal my belongings in an alley,"

"What!! then what happened?"

"I broke all their fingers, why would they try to steal someone item, from a lady no less" Bridget shook her head.

"Maybe you can teach me a few moves while we are together, we still more than 2 hours left" Alex said, when he opened the system he checked the time in the real world.

"Why do you want to learn to fight, is there any reason?" Bridget asked.

"Not really, I just want to learn to fight just in case, you know"

pαпdα`noνɐ1`сoМ "Just in case of what?"

"So I can get stronger in the game" Alex said.

"Just that, nothing else?"

"What other reason can there be, it's not like am part of a gang, even if am part of a gang, I would already know how to fight" Alex chuckled at the thought of him joining a gang.

"Learning to fight because of a game isn't something ideal, no one would believe you" Bridget said.

"I know, but if I can be among the top players all my problems would be solved, top players get paid huge amount of money, considering the amount of money the future company have I can't begin to imagine how much each of them are getting paid" Alex explained.

"Very soon the money would become worthless" Bridget told him.

"Why would the money become useless it's not like the world is going into an apocalyptic age where money would be useless, so I'm going to save a lot and enjoy my life with my family" Alex said.

"That's nice, I can teach you how to fight if you are Interested but I'm going to be your teacher so you should show me some respect" Bridget said with her head up.

"Pfff...Just because you know some martial arts technique doesn't make you a teacher, I can easily learn all that from the internet"

"I'll also teach you how to throw knives, I saw you earlier, it was embarrassing" Bridget shook her head.

"Okay, but I'm not calling you master or anything like that, so don't dream about it"

"Just call me sensei" Bridget placed both her hands together.

"Nope, I'm still going to call you Bridget, or Naka, your weird in-game name"

"I should have gone with shadow assassin" Bridget sighed.

"There are plenty of shadow assassins, you would have ended up calling yourself shadow assassin2 or 3" Alex laughed as he spoke.

"You do know I can spilt your throat right now right, we are not in the city and you can't defeat me" Bridget said.

"Really...then maybe we should duel, hand combat only no weapons" Alex said.

"Do you think you can beat me, you still need years of practice for this to be actually called a duel"

"Then just train me instead, let's battle, I'm feeling pretty powerful right now"
