Chapter 103 103 New Neighbors

"No, and he's pretty broke, after spending his money to buy a game" Alex said.

"But you also bought the game" Alisha said, immediately she took and the last plate on the table and dashed towards the kitchen.

"What!! Alex you did what?"

"I brought a game, what's the big deal" Alex said.

"How did you get the money for the game, you got a job right?"

"I got a job, I'm sorry I know you wanted me to focus on my study but I did great this time" Alex said with a smile.

"You are sure you did great, when would the results be out?"

"A month from now, besides the game isn't that expensive, and I didn't work late so I could read" Alex said.

"How much did it cost?"

"I bought it for $300" Alex said.

"$300...do you think I don't listen to the news or know things about games, I'm not that old... I'll ask again, how much did it cost?" she said with a frown this time.

"$500" Alex said with a sad expression.

"Alexander Quinn I'll ask again, how much did it cost?"

"$800, I brought it for $800" Alex said with a frown.

"Then why did you lie to me, you should have told me you brought the game for $800" she said with a smile.

"Wait...you are not angry at me, $800 is a lot of money, though I didn't know dad got a new job but it's still a lot of money" Alex said.

"I spoke to Gabriel few days ago to ask about you, I already know you were playing a game like this, I just don't want you to lie to me, I'm not going to ground you, you are already past that age" his mum spoke in a gentle voice.

"I know, I just don't want you to get angry at me" Alex mumbled.

"Why would I be angry, as long as you take your studies serious, I'm okay, and besides why is the game that expensive?" she asked.

"Top players of the game get paid every month"

"Huh! wait, so you are telling me top players in the game get paid for playing the game?"

"Yes, I'm aiming to be one of the top players, that way even before I'm done with school, I would already be earning lots of money" Alex spoke.

"Wow...I didn't know the game was that important, any way it's good to have you back"

"It feels good to be back, and this estate is really beautiful, I'm going to look around a little" Alex said as he stood up from his chair.

"Don't forget your jacket" his mum shouted and Alex immediately changed his direction and went upstairs to grab his sweater first.

Alex opened the door and immediately a cold breeze blew into their apartment, he could already feel the cold even before he could step out of his apartment.

Outside was now darker and series of lights lit up the entire estate, the lights made each apartment more pleasing to the eye.

Alex took a deep breath before walking forward, he didn't have a particular location so he was just walking around till he saw a figure in an all black clothing looking at a phone.

Alex walked closer to the figure and smiled brightly as the figure spoke.

"Alisha... I'm outside" the figure spoke with Alex behind.

Alex had gotten used to being an assassin that he walked behind the boy without him noticing.

"Hi..." Alex said in the boy's ears.

"Haa..." the boy shouted as he fell to the ground, "what is wrong with you, you scared me" he shouted.

"I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else" Alex said.

"I'm not so you can move along now" the boy said rudely.

"I'm sorry for scaring you, I'm Jones by the way, what's your name" Alex asked.

"I'm Sam" the boy spoke.

"Are you here to see someone?" Alex asked.

"Yes, my girlfriend, she lives over there" Sam spoke pointing over at Alex's apartment.

"Okay, well..." Alex's phone rang before he could complete his sentence and he picked the call.

"Hi bro, it's Gabriel, we're meeting at the city gates were we left off, are you free?" Gabriel asked over the phone.

"Yes sure, give me some minutes, I'll join you guys" Alex said.

"Oh and bring Bridget with you"

"I can't, she's busy and besides I don't have her number or a way to contact her" Alex said.

"Huh! you didn't get her number, how can you do that" Gabriel shouted.

"Hey I wanted to...but it was already too late, we may come across ourselves again, I won't miss another opportunity" Alex said.

"Okay bro, we're waiting" Gabriel said as he ended the call.

"Alisha...you kept me waiting for a long time" Sam spoke to Alex's sister.

He was facing his back and wearing big sweaters so Alisha didn't know it was Alex.

"I'm sorry, I was busy, hope you are not angry" Alisha said in a sweet voice.

"I'm angry" Sam said.

"Would a kiss make it better" Alisha said while acting cute.

*Cough*

Alex cleared his throat and turned around making Alisha flinch and move away from Sam, Sam was surprised and angry at Alex for disturbing them.

"Alex, I didn't know you were there" Alisha spoke immediately and rushed towards him.

Alisha held Alex's arm and brought him closer to Sam, Sam stood there confused about what was happening.

"This is my big brother Alex, Alex this is my boyfriend Sam" Alisha spoke.

"Huh!! w-wait...this is your elder brother Alex, the one you told me about?"

"Yes" Alisha answered.

"H-Hi, I'm S-Sam"

"I'm Alex, nice to meet you...see you guys later" Alex said as he walked back home.

"I didn't know he was your brother, I was shouting at him earlier" Sam said in a low voice.

"What! why did you do that?"

"I didn't know, is he going to stop us from going out, you know I can't live without you"

"Don't worry, I'm going to talk to him" Alisha said.

Alex smiled as he walked towards the door, he was able to scare him sister's boyfriend on the first day of his arrival so things were going great, Alex looked at the building closest to theirs and saw a girl around his age taking out the trash.

The light made him able to see her but he couldn't make out her face behind she wore a mask over her nose and mouth but she had white hair.

More than 60% of the population of Northfrost had white hair, even the owner of future company which was located in Northfrost had white hair.

Alex wasn't the type to start a conversation with a girl out of the blue, but strangely something was telling him to speak with her.

'I'm already sleepy... who's that? and why is he looking at me like that?' the girl from afar thought as Alex stood there looking at her.

'She looks familiar for some reason' Alex mumbled as he stared at her, slowly his body began moving towards her.

The girl stood with the waste in her hands staring at Alex as he came closer.

"Hi..." Alex spoke as he came close.

"Hello" the girl replied in a low voice.

"Can I help you with that" Alex said pointing at the waste bag in her hands.

"Oh this, it's okay" the girl said as she quickly rush to a large container close to her apartment where all the waste is being kept and dropped it there.

'Wow... he's really cute, and he's talking to me, he probably wouldn't speak to me if I take off my mask' the girl mumbled as she walked back.

"You look too familiar, have we met before?" Alex asked.

"I don't think so, this is the first time I'm seeing you here, do you live here?" the girl asked.

"Yes, I stay in that apartment, I came for the holiday" Alex replied.

"Oh I hope you enjoy your stay here" the girl said.

"Thanks... I'm Alex by the way" Alex said as he stretched his hands forward.

"I'm Melissa nice to meet you" she said as she shook Alex's hand.

"See you around" Alex said as he turned around.
