Chapter 106 106 Arena [Part 3]

"The ruler of this city is the chief host of this event, and half of the city is currently waiting for the battle, and mind you I told you to leave before I explained the rules so it's not my fault," the man said.

"What about the third stage?"

"The third stage doesn't concern all of you here, so after the second stage then the third stage would be explained"

"Huh!! Why?"

"Because most of you here would already be dead, so I'm not going to explain the third stage, if you want to find out, then survive the second stage," the man said as he yawned again with his eyes closing.

The door behind him was still open but none of the players could see behind the door, two female NPCs walked out of the door each holding a wooden box.

"Here are tags that have numbers written on them, each of you would get a number and after getting a number, proceed to the second room," the man said before walking out of the room.

Immediately the girls went around the room distributing the tags with designated numbers written on them from 1 to 245, each participant received a number and walked into the second room.

Alex was at the back of the room so he was obviously going to be last, some of the players went ahead and collected a tag even though they were at the back.

"Here you go," one of the girls said as they handed Alex the last tag that read '245'

"What are the tags for?" Alex asked the girl.

"They would be explained in the next room," the girl said.

"Okay," Alex said as he stood up, "You look beautiful by the way"

"Huh! me...thanks," the girl said as she blushed furiously.

'So that's it, the girls here are the same as the girls in the normal world, they can't help but get happy when a handsome boy compliments them'

Alex followed the girl behind till he got to the other room, the other room was the same as the first one but this time the chairs were arranged and on each of them numbers were written, six fat men sat in front of the group as they scanned all the players.

Alex strode to the back because he knew his number was dead last, the chairs in the room were arranged so all the players could be seen by the men in front.

The men wrote on papers in front of them and the blond man came forward again after collecting all the papers from the men, a wide smile was plastered on his face as he stare at the papers in his hands.

"Okay, the battle is starting now, place the tag you were given in your pocket or somewhere safe, the tag is laced with magical powers so if you lose yours you wouldn't be able to teleport out of the arena"

"I'm sure you all have your weapons, so take the door at the back" the man smiled as pointed at the wall.

All the players turned around because they were sure no door was at the back of the room when they came in, Alex who was seated at the back also knew no door was there but as the players looked back, a door had been formed on the wall leading directly into the arena.

"You can go now, wait...I forgot to tell you an important piece of information, you would be joined by 5 other contestants in the second stage, so try to survive"

The player close to Alex was the first person to stand up and step into the arena, other players quickly followed including Alex.

As soon as they stepped through the door loud noise and cheers hit their ears causing some of the players to flinch slightly, the other room was noise proof so all the cheering sounds didn't penetrate.

The arena Alex entered was a very spacious area, similar to a coliseum in Rome, with flaming torches lined up at the side of the walls casting an eerie glow around the battlefield.

The arena had different passages and all of them were covered with hardened steel gates that were almost impossible to break, behind those gates were the beasts that would be released later on.

Alex already wore his mask on his face as soon as he stepped into the arena, though some of the players who saw his name knew his face but he still covered his mask.

All the players walked to the center of the arena while the cheers continued, the arena was big enough to contain the entire city if possible.

[Inventory]

Alex opened his inventory and brought out his cloak, the battle was going to start any seconds from now and all the players were already getting ready.

Alex now had three daggers, two steel daggers, and his demon blade which could absorb blood, his first steel dagger given to him by Huntress was already breaking so he kept it in his inventory.

Alex was going to use this chance to absorb more blood with his demon blade to see what would happen if the percentage reaches 100.

*Clear throat*

"Hello melmond city" a voice echoed throughout the arena, the man speaking had enhanced his voice with magic so everyone would be able to hear.

All the players looked upward and a particular spot was decorated separately apart from the normal seats, huge men stood guards as four figures occupied the seats.

pαпdα`noνɐ1`сoМ Alex saw the figures and quickly recognized two of them, there were the son and daughter of the ruler of melmond meaning the man in the middle was the ruler of melmond.

"This is the battle you all have been waiting for, fighters are you ready" the man shouted with eagerness.

All the players were already ready as they held weapons, some of them with bows and arrows, some of them with swords and blades, some of them ready to cast spells, and one of the players besides Alex raised his fists up.

'Huh!! wait, he has iron...ohh brawler class' Alex nodded his head as he faced the gate closest to him.

[Double Quest Triggered]

[Quest: Defeat 5 Horned wolves]

[Reward: 10 skill points]

[Quest: Defeat 5 Boars]

[Reward: 300 XP]

'Double quest, meaning the beast behind those cages are most likely wolves and boars' Alex smiled in excitement.

If he completed the quest then he had also completed the first stage of the arena, not only would he gain XP for killing those beasts but he would gain extra skill points too.

'I'll go for the wolves first, skill points are really important so 10 skill points is a blessing, but I know it won't be easy' Alex mumbled.

"Start..." the man shouted and out of the twenty gates in the arena five of them opened.

"Huh!!"

"What's that?"

"Isn't that a rabbit? I thought they said it was a battle" the crowd's cheering died down as they saw the beasts released into the arena.

[Rabbit]

[Level: 3]

[HP: 20/20]

[Domestic Goat]

[Level 5]

[HP: 40/40]

[Bob Cat]

[Level 7]

[HP: 40/40]

Domesticated animals were released into the arena and immediately the place went silent, mumbling sounds from the crowd immediately filled the arena, even the players were surprised at the animals released but most of them didn't care.

Immediately some players moved into action, and many others followed, most of them went for the goats because the rabbits were more faster and nimble, but the goat was a perfect target even for archers.

"4 Kills...5"

"2 Kills..."

"6 Kills, haha...this is so easy" the players who rushed after the animals shouted, soon the arena was running out of animals to kill and then the main event was going to start.

Alex stood still as other players rushed to kill the animals, he didn't want to mess up his quest by killing other animals, it had to be wolves and boars.

"Well well...are you guys done, time for the main event... bring the beasts" the man shouted and his voice went round.

Immediately more cages were opened and horned wolves, boars, and normal wolves stepped into the arena but one of the cages was left locked.

The players immediately knew they had to take this seriously, some of them who had 8 or 7 Kills were grinning ear to ear because they only had little work to do.
