Chapter 111 111 Arena [Part 8]

After the amazing feat, he displayed at the first stage most of the players were wary of him but that was because he was fighting against a beast with little to no intelligence.

After seeing that Alex was after him RadRod was more than eager to fight him, after defeating a wolf like that he must have received something powerful.

"RAAAAAW..." both wolves roared as they charged forward, the two beasts forgot about the players as they engaged in a bloody battle.

The players standing were waiting there without attacking, they were going to attack only when the beasts' HPs were nearly depleted so they would deal the finishing blow and get the reward.

Alex narrowed his gaze as the player walked toward him, he taught the player would rush toward him but at least the player was intelligent.

Now that his agility had been increased, Alex knew he was definitely faster than the player in front of him but in terms of raw strength, he would lose to the player because the player is a knight.

Only a small distance separated them so they could now jump at each other any time, some players around were staring at them while some quite far from them were joining hands to kill the bear chasing a player around, the bear was now tired and stopped in the middle of different players and they jumped on the beast to defeat it.

Alex and RadRod were still staring at each other, both of them knew a single mistake could cost their lives but none of them were ready to back off.

"Just attack the damn guy" the voice in his head spoke again.

Alex got confused because of the voice and took his eyes off the player for a second but that quickly changed the tides of the battle.

The player took a step forward and immediately lunged one of his swords toward Alex but Alex had a grim expression on his face as he jumped backward.

He knew taking his eyes off the player would make him attack so he did it on purpose, he also knew the fast way for the player to reach him was to thrush his sword forward and if he tries to dodge by moving sideways another sword would be lunged in his stomach.

Alex had everything planned out and with his increased agility he leaped backward instead of sideways and as soon as he reached the ground his hands stretch forward as he flung his throwing knife with all the strength he could muster.

The player was just a step away from him so even a little kid would be able to make the throw.

[-30HP]

"Arrrgh...my eye" RadRod shouted as the throwing knife pierced his eyes.

"Shit I didn't aim for his eyes" Alex mumbled as he dashed forward to quickly finish off the player.

Pain only lasted a few seconds in Nova Online because it was a game, so Alex moved toward him before the pain he felt would be gone.

The player dropped one of his swords and removed the throwing knife from his eyes but the throwing knife was the least of his worries as Alex was standing in front of him.

Before the player could react a dagger already pierced his stomach, and this was another reason Nova Online was considered a good game.

[-35HP]

As soon as the dagger pierced the player's stomach he couldn't think of anything else other than the pain he felt at that moment, and Alex didn't rest as he removed the dagger and stabbed him again and again and again and Alex kept on stabbing the player till he turned into light particles and faded away.

[You killed player RadRod!]

[You have earned 150XP!]

[You received 1000 blue coins!]

The notification popped up in front of Alex and he turned around to look at the other players, all the players close to him slowly began to move away from him.

The crowd watching Alex cheered as killed the other player, while most of the crowd cheered for Niko as he defeated the bear running around.

The bears and the wolves fighting had finally ended and all of them were killed, one of the bears killed two of the wolves and sustained a large amount of injuries so he was killed by one of the archers, then the other wolf was killed.

Once all the beasts were dead, the players moved away from each other again and none of the attacked themselves, the cage wasn't opened again and the man stood up to speak.

"No no this isn't interesting, are you guys afraid of yourselves, don't worry people of melmond, it is my job to make it interesting" the man shouted and the crowd cheered like they knew what he was going to do.

The man speaking was in charge of the competition and it was his job to make sure the people enjoy their experience because they paid before they could watch the arena match.

"Okay players, we'll be spicing things up now," the man said and a green timer appeared on the head of one of the players, the time was 20 seconds but it wasn't counting.

"You see that timer, once I explain the rules it would start counting down, and once it reaches zero the person with the timer on his head would explode and the timer would select another person randomly" the man spoke and the crowd cheered.

"To get the timer off your head you'll need to touch another player then the timer would be transferred to the player"

"it doesn't necessarily mean to touch them with your hands, you can cast a spell, fire an arrow, shoot a bullet, throw a sword, anything is allowed but mind you the timer doesn't stop even when it is transferred to another person" the man continued.

"The only way the timer would be restarted is when it is transferred five times before 20 seconds, so every twenty seconds one of you would most likely die, and as the numbers of contestants get smaller, the barrier gets smaller until there's nowhere else to run to, now are we clear," the man said with his face curved in a smile.

"This wasn't stated in the rules"

"What kind of battle is this?"

The players complained but the crowd drowned their complaints with loud cheering sounds, the player with the timer on his head was looking around for his first target while others around him were moving away.

The player was an archer so he didn't need to get up close before he could pass the timer to another person.

"Begin..." the man shouted and immediately the huge green timer on the player's head turned to 00:19.

Alex was far away from where the player with the timer was but soon, most of the players around were trooping over to where Alex was, now the battle was to avoid the timer instead of killing each other, luckily no beast would be released so the players could focus on the timer alone.

The archer already had an arrow in his bow as he walked forward without an ounce of fear in him, he purposely waited for the timer to turn to one digit before running towards his target.

His target was a spellcaster and immediately he aimed at the spellcaster and released the arrow, the spellcaster seeing that the archer was aiming at him cast two fireball spells in rapid succession toward the archer.

The spellcaster wasn't fast enough to dodge the arrow but he was fast enough to cast two fireball spells that came in contact with the arrow.

The first fireball burnt the wooden arrow and reduced the force it carried while the second fireball burnt half of the arrow and the rest fell on the ground a few meters away from the spellcaster.

"Shit that bastard" the archer shouted as he placed another arrow in his bow, now the timer was at 00:06 and counting so he had to hurry.

The archer didn't aim at the spellcaster again instead he aimed at where five different players were in hope of hitting one of them but before he could release the arrow, a fireball spell hit him pushing him backward, his bow and arrow fell in different directions as he fell to the ground.

[-30HP]

The archer stood up and looked in the direction the Fireball came from, the spellcaster saw that the archer was no longer aiming at him and he moved forward and cast another fireball spell.
