Usually players strive to touch other players so they can get the timer off them but it was different for Alex, he was going for the kill.

"You bastard, I'm going to end you now" Niko mumbled as he aimed at Alex.
Niko was hired by the ruler of melmond to eliminate Alex for his personal gain, after the contesters are selected, they would be presented to the VIPs so they can place bets on them.

Niko had won the arena for four years in a row by changing his appearance with magic, but this wasn't his lucky year.
Niko had two flintlock pistols, both of rare quality meaning he had gone overseas before, dual flintlock pistols were not available in the Bronze continent.
Niko aimed both of his pistols at Alex as all the players ran away, he was a level 30 NPC so his precision was higher than most players, and from where he stood he was 100% sure he could kill Alex.
*Bam!! Bam!!*
Four loud sounds vibrated around the arena as Niko shot Alex, he knew he shot only two bullets so he wasn't sure what made the other sounds till he looked at Alex.
A dagger was in front of him and his bloodshot eyes were glaring at Niko, he used his demon blade to stop two bullets without breaking a sweat.
Niko's jaws dropped when he realized what happened but before he could raise his guns again Alex wasn't in front of him.
Niko felt a sharp pain coming from his stomach and when he looked down, one of Alex's daggers was buried in his stomach.
Both of the guns fell from his hands and he also fell to the ground, he coughed out blood as he lay on the ground, if he removed the dagger then he would bleed to death and no one would save him, the healers outside of the barrier were only interested in the last 20 players.
"So this is my end...huh! why isn't the timer on my head" Niko as he let out labored breathing.
Alex didn't just throw the knife at Niko, he charged towards Niko and stabbed it himself then he touched Niko again which transferred the timer back to him as he rushed toward other players.
Alex cut through the players like they were lumps of flesh, Alex had no control over his body, and before he knew it half of the players had been killed by Alex.
"Ha Ha..." Alex breathe heavily as he smiled brightly, he felt like killing those players was the best thing he has done since coming here.
Alex charged forward again but this time a white light shine in front of him and momentarily blinded him.
Alex's eyes shot open as he stood up from the ground, he took a deep breath before looking around.
"Hi" a voice spoke and he turned around, the boy who claimed to be the sixth elder god was seating there staring at him.
"It's you...wait am I in a trance again?" Alex asked.
"Yes," the boy answered.
"Wait what happened at the arena, I remember going after that knight to kill him and then something happened, I've been hearing this voice in my head telling me to do things"
"I didn't completely explain everything, especially about your powers, they would be manifesting now," the boy said.
"About my powers, you mean your powers, and why would your powers be manifesting, I mean are your powers connected to the game?" Alex asked.
"No, my powers are connected to you, it reacts when you are in danger or when you want to do something, earlier you were trying to kill the knight and it took over"
"It reacts when I'm in danger, but it's just a game, would the same thing happen when I'm in real life?"
"Yes, and given you are an assassin, the powers are moving in that direction," the boy said.
"Given I'm an assassin, I still don't understand all this, I'm an assassin in a virtual reality game, I'm not an assassin in real life remember," Alex said.
"The things you do in the game, have you ever tried them in real life and see if you can do some of them?"
"No, why would I try them in real life, I can't even swing a kitchen knife in real life except when I'm cooking," Alex said.
"Well try them...but that's not why you are here, should we continue from where you stopped last time?"
"You told me about Nova Online not being a game but a preparation, a preparation for what? what is going to happen in the future?" Alex asked.

"Humans are not the ones starting the war, the demon king is," the boy said.
Alex chuckled softly before seeing the serious expression on the boy's face, "So you mean a demon king is going to wage war upon humans and it's up to the five chosen warriors to stop him right?"
"Yes"
"This right here is so cliche, this is like all the light novels and comics, an evil demon king appears and it's up to the chosen ones to stop him" Alex chuckled.
"Comics and light novels right? you are currently unconscious from using too much of my powers, and you are here talking to me, you can see me right, do you think I would make something up like the earth being destroyed" the boy said a little annoyed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just finding it hard to believe right now, so if the demon king does come, what would happen, how would humans fight against a demon, would guns work, would bombs work?" Alex asked.
"I don't know what the gods' plans are but I'm sure they wouldn't let him destroy all of humanity, I'm just answering your question because you asked"
"So you said something about me being unconscious from using your powers, can I use your powers in real life?" Alex asked.
"Yes, but I'll advise you not to try it because you could actually hurt someone," the boy said.
"So everyone in Nova Online can use their powers in real life, I mean my friend is a mage, so can he use his spells in real life too?"
"No, only you and maybe the chosen ones have also begun to awaken their powers, the rest of the world would only awaken theirs when it's time" the boy spoke.
"So I can use my shadow camouflage in real life, I can actually blend into shadows and disappear... that's kinda nice and also unbelievable," Alex said.
"You can't do that"
"Why, you said i..." before Alex could finish the boy cut him off.
"I said my powers, the shadow camouflage is a skill you got in Nova Online, it isn't part of my power, you have awakened two, energy absorption and frenzy state"
" Energy absorption and frenzy state, those are your powers, what do they do?" Alex asked.
"You have already witnessed what the first one can do, it absorbs energy, amplifies it, and return it in your next attack, but you can store the energy for defense, like you did when that wolf tried to kill you"
"The second one is the tricky one and you need to be careful how you use It, frenzy state grants you immerse power but you can only focus on one opponent when using it"
"Is that what happened at the arena?"
"Yes, exactly"
"Why do I need to be careful, I was able to defeat tons of players in just minutes right, I can't recall everything that happened," Alex said.
"Yes you were because they aren't up to your level, when in frenzy state, you can only focus on one opponent at a time and until that opponent is eliminated you won't be able to attack anyone else"
"So I won't be able to change targets, what if someone behind wants to kill me?" Alex asked.
"You won't be able to see them or hear them coming as long as you have your focus on someone else"
