Chapter 139 139 Bandits Camp [Part 2]

"You can never rule out the possibility, you never know, on a different topic have any of you checked the time in the real world?" Alex asked.

"No we haven't...shit one of the guards is walking towards us" Lynx snorted.

"Hey, where are you going, there's nothing there"

"I heard a sound, I'm just going to inspect, it won't take long" the bandit walking towards where the group where.

"What are we going to know, I think he heard us" Max whispered.

"Then stop talking, I don't think he heard us," Alex said.

The bandit walked towards where the group was but he changed his direction at the last minute and moved away from them, he moved towards another tree and sat down behind the tree, and turned off the lantern he came with.

"I'm tired of standing there, others are inside having the time of their lives and I'm here standing guard just because I newly joined" the bandit complained as he stood behind the tree.

"He just wanted to rest, I don't think he heard us, we should kill him now that his lantern is off" Lynx whispered.

"Kill him, he's just an innocent guy who newly joined them," Max said.

"Innocent bandit, you know they took your friend right, or isn't that girl part of your group" Lynx whispered back.

"Alex what should we do, do we kill him... Alex... Alex...and he's gone" Gabriel sighed.

"I'm back" Alex mumbled behind them.

"Fuck... don't do that," Max sneered.

"Where were you, we were trying to decide what to do with the guy with the lantern over there...wait where is he?" Gabriel asked.

"I killed him, he's pretty low-leveled, two stabs to the neck did all the job, now we have to find a way to deal with the other one," Alex said.

"Having you as the assassin is reassuring, your friends are pretty spineless, they were deciding what to do with him" Lynx snorted.

"Spineless, didn't you see the guys I killed with my fireball, how old are you, don't you dare talk down on me" Gabriel sneered.

"I'm 21, and I've killed more people and players than you," Lynx said.

"21...damn he's older than me" Gabriel mumbled under his breath.

"It's not that I don't feel for them but this is just a game, and after killing them they turn into pixels and fade away telling you that it's just a game, if I have to kill to get to the top ten ranks, then I'll gladly do so" Alex spoke.

"Wow, you sound like a captain of a special force" Max chuckled as he spoke.

"You see, I told you to join a special force, you'll make a great captain" Gabriel also chuckled.

"Guys, I think the other bandit is heading in this direction," Lynx said and they all popped their heads out from behind the tree.

"Hey, where are you, return to your post" the bandit walking forward shouted.

"This isn't the first time you are abandoning your post, I'll really report you to the leader if you don't return back right now"

"He still doesn't suspect anything, then this isn't his first time taking a break like this, Alex you should find a way...and he's gone again, I think his stealth increased when it's nighttime," Gabriel said.

"Is that how you want to play it, then stay there all night, I'll make sure I get myself a good girl in the morning and report to the leader" the bandit spoke as he turned around and walked away.

Alex was still close to his friends but he was in front of the tree blended in with the darkness, and since the bandit didn't come close to the tree before turning around, Alex stood still, now the bandit was walking away and his perfect chance appeared.

Alex's footsteps were silent due to his stealth and the fact that he was part of the assassin class so sneaking up behind someone was child's play for him, he quickly took a step forward and slowly walked toward the bandit before he could turn around again.

As Alex closed in the bandit stopped and chuckled slightly making Alex immediately halt his movement, Alex's jaws dropped as he never believe the bandit would detect him coming from behind.

"I know you would like to have your way with the new girls, but if I report you to the leader, you would never get that chance" the bandit spoke chuckling slightly.

'Huh!! new girls... he's still talking to his dead friend, I thought he heard me coming' Alex moved forward as he was just steps away from the bandit.

"Why haven't I heard a response, he doesn't behave this way, I need to..." the bandit turned around and locked eyes with Alex directly behind him.

Alex was just a step away from the bandit and both of his daggers were already in his hands and his eyes were filled with bloodlust, both of them were frozen there but immediately swung into action at the same time.

Alex launched his dagger toward the bandit's stomach but he was also quick on his feet and leap backward, though he misstepped and fell on the ground giving Alex the advantage, the lantern in his hands also rolled away.

Alex charged towards him to finish him off now that he was on the ground but the bandit used Alex's charging to his advantage and took a handful of sand from the ground.

The bandit threw the sand in Alex's eyes as he was just a step away, Alex had no choice but to reel back from the sudden assault.

Alex dropped both of his daggers as he struggled to get the sand out of his eyes, he wanted to run away from the bandit but as he couldn't see, he wouldn't know what direction he was running to.

"Bastard, so you kill my friend" the bandit shouted as he stood up from the ground, Alex opened his eyes but he couldn't stop himself from blinking due to the sand particles in his eyes.

He was a few steps away from the bandit and one of his daggers were in the bandit's hands.

"Dieeee you bastard" the bandit shouted as he dashed towards Alex.

Alex still wasn't able to see well but he was able to see the bandit coming and with his increased agility he was able to dodge the first swing from the bandit.

"I'm not good with short swords, but at least I can slit your throat with this" the bandit held the dagger with both hands and thrust it toward Alex's neck.

>THUD!<

Alex and the bandit landed on the ground, the bandit's hand clenched the dagger tightly as he struggled to thrust it into Alex's neck, while Alex on the other hand was struggling to stop the bandit but slowly the dagger was closing in on Alex.

"Is that an intruder" a voice spoke as the light from a lantern closed in on both of them.

"You bastard you took your time getting here, get your sword and finish him off" the bandit shouted as he grinned devilishly.

"I'm already with my sword" the voice spoke.

"Then kill him...wait your sword is over there, you are not..."

>SQUELCH!<

Before the bandit could finish his sentence Max already thrust his sword deep into the bandit's stomach, the bandit's hands relaxed and Alex pushed the man off him.

"Phew, that was hard" Alex spoke as sigh in relief.

"It worked" Max sat on the ground, Lynx and Gabriel joined them immediately.

"You guys saw me struggling, why didn't you help sooner?" Alex asked.

"We were thinking about a solution, we can't just run towards him, what if he runs away and sound some kind of alarm, then all this would be for nothing" Gabriel spoke.

"So the best option was to leave me to die"

"You are strong so we didn't think you would get killed, but if you did it would be unfortunate because the mission would fail," Lynx said.

"Thanks Max, the bandit would have killed me, we should keep moving," Alex said as he stood up.

"What next, I hope none of the other guards come close to their location or else, we'll be exposed" Gabriel spoke.

"I'm sure none of them would come close," Alex said.

"I'm not so sure about that" a female voice spoke from behind them.
