Chapter 5: The Second Great Ninja War

_

“Wartime is desolate.”

After preparing everything, Cain arrived in the world of Naruto through the trading system. However, the landing location is random, and he must quickly find a trading partner to mark the trade in this world.

“Only two days, and after each shuttle, I must appear within fifty miles of the trading mark, which is the trading partner? This is a shitty rule. I need to find a long-lived trading partner.”

“And there is only one chance, and I can’t return.”

Therefore, Cain was a bit anxious. If he didn’t find a trading partner within two days, he would lose this world, and the trading system would refresh again.

But it’s so difficult to find someone willing to trade and long-lived within two days, let alone that once the world trading mark is bound, it will take at least two years to change freely.

“Shit, why is this system so complicated? Can’t it be simpler? And this shitty weather, it’s been raining all the time!”

Fortunately, Cain brought complete daily necessities, and umbrellas and raincoats was naturally well-prepared.

However, there were too few people, and he didn’t know where he was. He had been walking in the wilderness for two hours.

If he couldn’t find anyone for two consecutive days, Cain would miss the Naruto world.

As a wealthy young man with plenty of time, Cain has practiced some martial arts and physical training in addition to his gun training. Walking for a few hours is relatively easy for him. Still, the key is that Cain doesn’t know how long it will take to find someone, and even after finding someone, he doesn’t know how long it will take to find a suitable trading partner.

“Is the first transaction so unlucky? The Pent family is so faithful to Tyche, and she didn’t even bless the only heir of the Pent family.”

Cain walked for another hour or two and finally found a place resembling a building ruin. It could be used as a temporary shelter from the rain.

He didn’t know how long this rain would last, and when he passed by, he saw the traces of the war. He needed to find out which direction was safe and could lead to a suitable trading partner. However, if he encountered danger, Cain would rather return to the Marvel world as soon as possible and give up the Naruto world than continue trading.

“Is anyone there?”

Cain, who never left his firearms, shouted out and then carefully observed for a few minutes. He released a drone to search the surroundings. Only after confirming that no one around did he decide to rest there for a while before continuing his journey.

He needed to replenish his energy. If he couldn’t extend his stay on the battlefield, Cain would take out a steak to cook himself a delicious meal. But now, he could only eat some chocolate, energy drinks, and dried meat.

While eating, Cain used the drone to explore the surrounding environment. Still, the reconnaissance range was limited, and he received no helpful information.

“Four hours have passed, 44 hours left.”

Cain looked at his watch, but he suddenly heard a slight sound. He immediately put down the energy drink in his hand and stood up with his gun in his hands, shouting in the direction of the sound.

“Who’s there?”

After yelling loudly, Cain waited for more than ten seconds, but there was still no response. So he fired a few shots in the direction of the sound, and the bullets hit the ground and the wall, making a banging sound.

“I repeat it. If you don’t come out, don’t blame me.”

“Don’t, don’t make a move. I’ll come out.”

After Cain’s warning, a slightly immature voice came from behind a large boulder, and then a little boy with orange hair slowly walked out. He looked about ten years old, and his face was full of stubbornness.

Although he was a child, Cain did not relax his vigilance. His gun still pointed at the boy as he asked sternly, “Are you the only one here? What are you doing here? I just checked the area, and there was no one there. What’s your purpose for coming here?”

“I’m looking for food. I’m a wanderer. Because I was too hungry, I came here to see if anything was useful.”

Yahiko nervously replied, and he could feel the malice in Cain’s eyes. The golden-haired stranger in front of him didn’t look like a ninja, but he was older than himself, and the unknown weapon he had just used shattered even the stones on the ground. If it hit them, they would die.

“There’s no village around here, and you’re alone looking for food? Kid, you don’t seem very honest…”

Even though he was a child, Cain always kept a safe distance from the boy. No cover could allow others to approach. He would return to the Marvel world immediately if he sensed something was wrong.

Yahiko saw Cain pointing the dark gun at him, and although he didn’t know what it was, he felt the malice emanating from Cain.

So Yahiko quickly waved his hands and said, “I’m telling the truth. I just wanted to find a ninja on the battlefield to learn ninjutsu from and happened to pass by here, so I wanted to take shelter from the rain!”

“Looking for a ninja master?”

Cain furrowed his brows slightly and repeated the words. He looked at the boy in front of him and his orange hair. Then he asked, “What’s your name?”

“Yahiko, my name is Yahiko!”

It was indeed this guy. Now it should be the time of the Second Ninja War, and Yahiko and his two companions had not yet become apprentices of Jiraiya. But if Yahiko said he was preparing to go to the battlefield to find a ninja master, then this should be the battlefield of the Land of Rain.

Cain thinks that Tique, this woman, can’t influence the Shinobi world, so that’s why his luck is so bad. But since it’s just Yahiko, the danger is slightly lower but cannot be completely ruled out.

If they can’t find anyone else, they can at least bind the interdimensional trading mark with either Nagato or Konan. They both have a long life span, but not Yahiko.

“Call your other two companions out. This is for you three.”

Cain used his backpack as a cover and took out three pieces of bread and three pieces of ham, throwing them to Yahiko.

Yahiko’s eyes widened when he saw the food. He thought to himself that the quantity of bread and ham was all three, so this guy already knew about Nagato and Konan.

And that strange hidden weapon was also removed, so it seems that the danger can be eliminated.

“Konan, Nagato, come out. There’s food; he’s a good person!”

Upon hearing Yahiko’s words, Cain couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh in his heart. The definition of a “good person” was too easy. He was a businessman and capitalist, but he was definitely not a good person.

But if Nagato is here, then Zetsu is probably nearby.

He is just a merchant without chakra, and Zetsu should not be so crazy as to kill all the strangers around Nagato at this time. Cain is still safe for the time being.

After Yahiko finished shouting, two raggedy little kids walked out from behind the rocks or other covers, walking towards Cain from a distance of only dozens of meters. They only made a sound when they got so close, and these three little kids survived in a chaotic era and had such hiding skills, which was quite impressive.
