Chapter 7: Transaction Confirmation

_

Orochimaru emerged from the shadows, which could be considered an indirect way of expressing that they did not intend to attack. Of course, it was also possible they had realized that Cain was not a ninja and posed no threat.

Being able to talk was already a successful first step.

Cain breathed a sigh of relief and walked over with Yahiko, but they still kept their distance when they entered.

In Orochimaru’s view, this kind of vigilance was expected, and he was also quite wary of Cain.

Jiraiya looked at Cain and asked, “What is your objective?”

Cain replied, “I am a merchant who got lost in the Land of Rain. I met these kids and heard about the fight between Leaf and Rain ninjas from them, so I asked them to bring me here to find you.”

“A merchant near the battlefield?”

“I got lost. Honestly, it was my first time in the Land of Rain, and I had no idea that the war was happening nearby. The things I want to trade are of the greatest value to ninjas. I will take some samples from my backpack now, so please don’t get too excited.”

Cain gave a warning in advance and then reached into his backpack, using it as a cover to take out some samples of his wares.

“There are only two types of things we can be traded: medicines and food. Medicines include anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, fever-reducing drugs, vitamins, and some medical supplies. As for food, there are only rice, flour, oil, sugar, and salt, but there is a large quantity of them.”

Several boxes of medicine had Japanese instructions written on them. When Jace heard Cain’s request, he thought he would transport the medicine to Japan, but Cain didn’t elaborate, and Jace didn’t ask further.

“Medicine?”

Tsunade became a little interested when she heard about the medicine. She was a medical ninja, and her medical skills were unmatched in Konoha. Now the medical system in Konoha had not developed, and the medical ninja was scattered. As for medicines, they were mainly made from herbs.

There were almost no finished products like capsules or tablets.

“What are the effects of these medicines?”

Cain handed over all the samples to Tsunade and said, “There are instructions on each of them, and the effects are the same as what’s written. These are samples, so you can try them out. Even I can try them.”

As for food and other things, the three of them temporarily ignored them, not because they were unimportant, but because they were not as important as the medicine.

Konoha’s food supply was relatively sufficient, but there was a real medical gap. Many injured soldiers, even if they didn’t die on the battlefield, would suffer from large-scale casualties due to a lack of treatment when they returned to camp.

After Tsunade finished looking through them individually, her expression gradually became more serious. After reading the last medicine box, she immediately looked up. She asked Cain, “Are the effects of these medicines the same as what’s written?”

“Of course, these are samples. You can try them out on some of the injured.”

“I’m a merchant, and there are many more things. I won’t exaggerate or deceive my customers, as it would be bad for business.”

After seeing Tsunade’s expression, Jiraiya and Orochimaru knew that the medicines Cain had brought were essential. Otherwise, Tsunade wouldn’t have looked like that.

Cain took a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Tsunade, saying, “This is the list and quantity of the goods to be traded. Other than that, I have nothing else to say.”

Jiraiya had been looking at Cain’s hair for a long time and finally asked, “Are you a merchant from the Land of Lightning?”

“No, I have no connection to the Land of Lightning. I come from America, on the other side of the sea. But few people in the ninja world have heard of it.” Cain knew he couldn’t fool them with ninja countries, or they might send their spies to investigate.

“If the medicines are effective, I can represent Konoha and purchase the entire first batch.”

Medicine is so scarce in Konoha that even those with money cannot buy it. This scarcity of medical ninjas is the biggest reason injured soldiers cannot hold on. However, the medicines sold by Cain can largely replace low-level medical ninjas.

“If possible, I hope you can come with us to the Konoha camp.”

“I can, but you must ensure my safety. I am not a ninja, but I have means of escape. If you mistreat me, I will immediately cancel the transaction, and you will never be able to buy my medicine again.”

Cain solemnly said to Tsunade and her two companions. He would leave the world of the shinobi immediately if he noticed anything suspicious.

“Don’t worry. I will ensure your safety and guarantee it in the name of Tsunade, the Jonin of Konoha.” Tsunade decisively said. These medicines could save the lives of most injured ninjas, and she would not allow anyone to ruin this.

“Then, the deal is confirmed?”

As Cain spoke, he again confirmed with Tsunade.

“Yes, let’s make the deal.” After Tsunade finished speaking, the trading system immediately displayed that the world trading coordinates had been successfully bound, with the binding object being Tsunade.

Then, Tsunade turned to Jiraiya and Orochimaru and said, “Jiraiya, Orochimaru, we need to hurry back.”

“What about this kid?” Jiraiya didn’t answer Tsunade’s question but asked Yahiko, who was next to Cain. But Cain took two steps to the side and said, “He has nothing to do with me. We just happened to be going in the same direction.”

After Cain finished speaking, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade fixed their gaze on Yahiko, making him feel tremendous pressure.

However, driven by his dreams and what Cain had just said, Yahiko lowered his head and trembled for a long time before finally shouting, “Please teach us ninjutsu. I want to learn ninjutsu and change this weeping country!”

Tsunade and Orochimaru sighed silently, thinking that this kid would bring them some surprises. But it turned out he was just a naive person.

Nevertheless, Jiraiya’s expression became slightly more serious, and he asked, “What about your family?”

Yahiko was silent for a moment but answered truthfully, “They were killed by ninjas in this war.”

Orochimaru shook his head and said, “Don’t mind this kid. Jiraiya, we still have a mission to complete when we return.”

Tsunade agreed with this attitude and said to Jiraiya, “That’s right, Jiraiya. We need to return immediately.”

“Well…” Jiraiya looked at Yahiko’s determined and ambitious eyes and was hesitant. He knew that returning to the camp immediately was the right choice.

However, Jiraiya also considered what the Great Toad Sage had said about the Child of Prophecy. His gaze toward Yahiko softened a little.

“I’ll stay here, Tsunade, Orochimaru. The war is almost over, so let me take care of them.” At this point, Konan and Nagato had already revealed themselves from behind the stone pillar, and Jiraiya and the others noticed them.”

However, after Jiraiya decided, Tsunade and Orochimaru’s faces changed slightly.

“Jiraiya, do you know what you’re saying?” Tsunade angrily questioned.
