Chapter 14: Returning to the Naruto World

_

Cain wasn’t currently selling gold. It wasn’t the right time, and he still had a good amount of savings.

Getting the wholesale agent qualifications for medicine and food was difficult, but there were professional companies that could help Cain with the legwork. Moreover, this was the year 2000, and many places in the world lacked medicine. The wholesale of medicine in the United States had just started to develop, but Cain had set his sights on other regions outside the United States.

Furthermore, the news of Cain wanting to start a medicine and food wholesale trading company had slowly spread. Those who knew about it were only slightly surprised and stopped paying attention.

Although Cain had inherited shares in the private hospital Old Pent had built from scratch, he wasn’t interested in managing the hospital. Now that he had set his sights on the medicine wholesale trading business, it made sense for him to have some connections to the Pent family.

“Money flows like water.”

Cain calculated his expenses over the past few days. Although the company was running smoothly and he had successfully obtained the qualifications for medicine wholesale and trading, he had even recruited a few people involved in the wholesale medicine industry and cross-border trade.

As for accounting and legal matters, Cain had also made preparations.

Once all the procedures were in order, Cain’s company could start operating. For now, the company was just a cover-up. Once Cain’s biopharmaceutical company developed, the former would become irrelevant.

At the moment, Cain only hoped that the medical ninjutsu in the world of Naruto could surprise him regarding drug development. As far as he knew, besides dying in battle, ninjas had no other way of dying. Moreover, in several ninja wars, the puppeteer of the Sand Village invented many types of toxins, but they were eventually cracked. If someone like Tsunade, a medical ninja, were to research incurable diseases like cancer, she should be able to develop a cure.

During these past few days, besides making a brief appearance at school, Cain had been busy with the company and the futures market. The company was swallowing money, so Cain had to earn money from the futures market. After he and Carl stayed up all night researching and following up, they had made over two million dollars in gold and oil.

Although making money from the war made Cain feel uneasy for about ten seconds, it was indeed profitable. Seeing that the money in his bank account had increased significantly, Cain, Carl, and Connor opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Although they weren’t of legal drinking age, Connor still let Cain and Carl drink two glasses.

The medicine wholesale and trading company was also running smoothly. Although the qualifications and procedures hadn’t been completed, they would eventually be. Therefore, Cain and a few of his recruited employees discussed the company’s direction. Once the qualifications for medicine wholesale and trading were obtained, the company would start operating immediately.

For now, they have decided to focus on Mexico and West Asia. As long as they were careful and managed to transport the medicine there, they could make a lot of money. Cain also offered high commissions to his sales staff, so they could earn much money as long as they were willing to take risks.

After dropping off the coordinates for the world trade system in the world of Naruto, the trading system went into cooldown mode. Finding the next trading world would take at least two years if nothing unexpected happened.

However, Cain wasn’t in a hurry. The world of Naruto was enough for him to develop for a while.

During Cain’s time back home, his schedule was packed. On the tenth day, he confirmed the items in his spatial backpack and then used the trading system to return to the world of Naruto.

“Boss, check out.”

After leaving the inn in Kawaki Town, Cain went to his rented warehouse, preparing to hire a group of people to transport things to Konoha.

“It’s been about two days since we left here. Strange time ratio, but it’s okay. Time is long in both worlds.”

Cain first went to Konoha to post a commission task to be safe. After the Konoha Chunin squad arrived in Kawaki Town, he hired a carriage to transport the goods to Konoha. Kawaki Town is not far from Konoha, but he had a lot of things to transport, and hiring a ninja was for safety. If he encountered robbers, it was the ninja’s job to protect Cain, while Cain was there to protect the goods.

The journey was safe. It was still wartime, and Konoha was vigilant about clearing the area of enemies.

After arriving at Konoha’s gate, the ninja checked the goods and let them through.

Cain directly had the caravan come to his two shops and arranged for people to unload the goods.

“Boss, is this new merchandise?”

When Natsukawa, the shopkeeper, saw Cain come with the caravan to the store’s door, she quickly came out and asked. Her full name was Natsukawa Senju, but she lost the Senju surname when she was very young.

“Yes, this is the list. Please supplement according to the boxes, and put the rest in the warehouse at the back.” There was a large room at the back for stacking goods and a house where Cain lived. One could come out to the street from the side.

Hiruzen Sarutobi mortgaged all four houses in this area to Cain. Otherwise, Konoha would have to spend money to buy medicines, worsening Konoha’s already deficit finances.

Cain handed a list to Natsukawa, then went into the store to check the situation.

Many of the shelves were empty, and it had only been a few days. So much had already been sold, and many shelves were empty. Natsukawa could not have been slacking off. It seemed that the inventory had been sold out. Cain calculated in his mind that goods were still in short supply, and he could raise the prices slightly. If the war continued, he could even sell flour at bread prices.

After Natsukawa arranged for people to pull all the goods to the warehouse, she slowly replenished the goods on the shelves.

Cain picked up the account books for the past few days, then called Natsukawa over, checked off nearly half of the items on the list, and said that the prices for these items should be raised by half, and the remaining items should be raised by a quarter.

After hearing this decision, Natsukawa widened her eyes and asked, “Boss, do we need to raise the prices by… so much?”

Cain sighed and showed his usual helplessness as a capitalist. “There’s no way, Natsukawa. It’s wartime now, and outside influences are severe. I wouldn’t dare to transport goods alone if it weren’t for the ninja escort.”

After thinking momentarily, Natsukawa realized that most other shops in Konoha were out of stock and that only Cain could bring supplies from outside. Also, hiring ninjas was an additional expense.

Thinking this way, it did make sense.

“Natsukawa, I know what you’re worried about.”

Cain leaned in a little closer and whispered to Natsukawa, “The store’s employees and some of your relatives can buy at the original price, but this news must not be leaked.”

“Thank you, thank you, Boss!”

Natsukawa was about to bow and express her gratitude, but Cain waved his hand to refuse. Some small benefits could buy people’s hearts. After expanding the business, Hiring all the ordinary people except for the Senju clan members was a good thing. This would also impress Tsunade, and in the future, if he needed her to research drugs, this would also be a bonus point.

“Natsukawa, what’s that girl doing?”

After finishing the conversation, Cain gestured towards the red-haired girl who had been peeking her head in the doorway and looking around for a while.
