Chapter 22: Tsunade’s Visit

_

After returning to the ninja world, Cain received some good news from Natsukawa.

During the few days he was away, Natsukawa had negotiated with the civilians in four villages surrounding Kawaki Town to plant cocoa trees. The high price they could get from selling cocoa beans and Cain’s promise to sell them grain at a lower price made it clear that growing cocoa would be more profitable than growing grain.

As long as money is to be made, the people of the ninja world will be drawn to it, and the villagers in the four villages have agreed to plant cocoa trees.

“Well done, Natsukawa. It was the right choice to put you in charge of the dessert factory,” Cain said.

Natsukawa smiled shyly and replied, “No, it’s what I should do.”

This was good news for Cain, as it saved him much time.

The dessert factory was also almost finished, so while no one was paying attention, Cain put the machines that produced chocolate and other sweets in the warehouse. Others might suspect that he used a technique similar to a sealing scroll. Still, the people of Konoha would only be more suspicious of his background.

After removing the production line, Cain called Natsukawa and the other four people to come over. He handed them the instruction manual for using the machines. Then, Cain personally taught them how to use it.

“This is the on/off button. Press it, and the machine starts working. Pour the raw materials in here, and then wait. After that, package it and put it in the box, and the chocolate is successful,” Cain explained.

After teaching them several times and demonstrating it once, the other four people barely understood the operation of the machines. However, they still needed to practice more to thoroughly operate the production line machines.

This matter could not be taken lightly. In the future, these four people will be in charge when opening branch factories. As for Natsukawa, Cain had more important things to entrust her with.

Cain stayed in Kawaki Town for two more days, during which he taught them how to operate the machines and ensured that the planting of cocoa trees was settled. After planting, it would take at least until next year to be harvested.

He brought less this time, and the chocolate produced would only be enough to sell for over a month. Moreover, milk and sugar still needed to be purchased in the ninja world. Next time, Cain could bring a large batch of raw materials to the ninja world or produce some ninja-themed chocolate desserts.

For example, shuriken chocolate, kunai chocolate, or soft candy forehead protectors. As long as he had some new molds, they would definitely be popular. Ninjas are still quite popular in this world, and once a war breaks out, it affects the livelihood of the whole country.

After the matter in Kawaki Town was settled, Natsukawa returned to Konoha.

When they arrived at the gate of Konoha, they were stopped for inspection but were quickly allowed in.

Not long after entering Konoha, Cain noticed a strange atmosphere of joy and sorrow. Many wore black clothes as if preparing to pay their respects to their family members.

It was probably because all the ninjas on the battlefield in the Land of Rain had returned, and the living and the dead had become heroes.

“Should I create a hero-themed chocolate?” Cain thought for a moment but ultimately rejected the idea. Making money off the dead was difficult and could cause disputes and boycotts.

After returning to Cain’s food store, he had Mei move all the goods to the warehouse. Mei Kawakami was the new manager of the store, taking over from Natsukawa. She was very reliable, and at least the affairs of this store would not be difficult for her.

The food store business was still good, but there was a limit to how much one store in a village could do. The desserts produced by the Kawaki Town dessert factory would eventually have to be sold throughout the ninja world. Ninjas were a wealthy group, but the wealthiest were still the noble merchants and the affluent class among the civilians, whose numbers were much greater than those of the ninjas.

“Mei-san, arrange for people to deliver according to the last reservation list. After that, you can handle the rest.”

When he returned, Cain was busy for three days and felt a bit tired. He was probably the most unfortunate capitalist, worth millions of dollars but still having to run his own business. Since he got the system, he hasn’t rested well for a long time.

Mei Kawakami noticed a hint of tiredness on Cain’s face and suggested in a low voice, “Boss, if you’re tired, why not go soak in a hot spring? It’s a very relaxing way to relieve fatigue.”

Soaking in a hot spring when tired is a widely recognized practice in the ninja world. There is even a small country called the “Land of Hot Water” that is famous for its natural hot springs. It is said that soaking in the hot springs there for a long time can prolong one’s life.

This gimmick has attracted many noble and wealthy people in the ninja world, who go there several times a year.

But Cain wasn’t particularly interested in this. He could see through these gimmicks. He believed taking a bath at home and resting well would be more effective than soaking in a hot spring.

“No need, Mei-san. I’ll go rest in the backyard. If there’s anything, just call me.”

Cain walked towards the backyard, where he not only needed to rest but also needed to think about what to do next.

Orochimaru probably began studying forbidden jutsu during the Third Great Ninja War. He had not yet witnessed the death of anyone close to him, so he had not yet delved deeply into the meaning of life. If Cain remembered correctly, Orochimaru’s initial dream was to learn all the ninja techniques in the world. It was only after Nawaki’s death that he thought of immortality.

Orochimaru was not just particularly talented in biological research; he was born to do this work. It had been less than fifty years since he began researching and experimenting in the field of biology, and he had already made a leap from being a ninja to a biological research expert; Gene transplantation, human cloning, soul transfer, regeneration jutsu, and finally, becoming younger and younger.

All of this was accomplished by him alone, with at most a Kabuto Yakushi assisting him on the side.

Within six years, he had to produce sufficiently profound research in human biology and then lure Orochimaru into his bait. At that time, he would have the manpower and financial resources to support him, and Orochimaru would provide the technology. At each stage of success, he would have to share it with him. Cain was not afraid that Orochimaru would hide anything from him. He would definitely recruit a group of experts in biological research in the Marvel world.

After taking a bath, Cain prepared to drink a cup of tea and rest. The war was ending, and Konoha probably wouldn’t buy medicine from him anymore. They probably didn’t have much money left.

So Cain planned to open a drugstore in the capital of the Fire Country. However, he planned to find a retired medical ninja in Konoha, even if they only had a little knowledge of medical ninjutsu. He still needed to consult with Kaikou in the future.

While Cain was thinking, footsteps suddenly approached from outside.

Mei walked to the door and asked, “Boss, Tsunade wants to visit you. Should I let her in?”
