Chapter 31: Compensation for Heartache

Kushina sat with his head down in front of the table, with an apologetic attitude as if admitting his mistake.
She may not have many friends in school, or rather, based on her behavior in the past few years, Kushina had almost no friends in school. So when Cain complimented her and treated her as an equal, Kushina unconsciously regarded Cain as a friend.

Although Nawaki had improved after Kushina visited him last time, his tone of voice was much weaker than before. However, with Tsunade’s medical skills, she would definitely heal Nawaki.
Kushina had been coming home at irregular times recently and often practiced outside, so neither Tsunade nor Mito paid attention to the sound of the door opening.

Kushina counted the chocolates and said angrily. She had put them in the refrigerator last time, even covering them with eggs, but many were still missing. She hid them in her own room this time but still lost seven or eight pieces.
But when she thought about asking Tsunade for some money, Kushina took out three pieces of chocolate from the box and went to the kitchen to make tea. She put one on the tray and brought it to Tsunade.
“Tsunade, you’ve worked hard staying up late. I prepared some tea for you.”
Kushina showed a smile and walked into Tsunade’s room with the tray. As soon as she entered, she found walking around there difficult. Whether on the bed or floor, there were scrolls and documents everywhere. Even Tsunade had to stand up so Kushina could see her behind the desk.
“It’s you, Kushina.”
Tsunade looked up from behind the pile of documents. At first, she thought Kushina was coming to interrogate her. But when she saw the tea, she figured the girl must want something from her.
The two had known each other for several years, and their relationship was pretty good. They had some blood relationships and similar personalities, so they naturally got along well.
“You’re still researching medical ninjutsu at this late hour?”
Kushina put the tray aside since she couldn’t place it on the desk and helped Tsunade tidy up the scrolls and documents on the floor.
“It’s not too late yet. I always feel that I can develop a kind of regenerative jutsu. But this medical ninjutsu is somewhat different from what I imagined.”
Tsunade shook her head in frustration. She promised Nawaki that she would definitely heal him. Still, his injuries mostly involved permanent damage to his bodily functions and some nerves. Ordinary medical ninjutsu was already very difficult to restore this type of injury.
