2886 Against Old Snake II

Crack Crack…Bang

Chain after chain exploded as they clashed against my weapons till not a single chain remained.

“Quite a move you have created,” said the old snake; this time, there was no smile on its face. “I had to; spectral attacks are bitch to deal with,” I replied.

“They are,” It said with a nod and moved, and it moved with such a speed that it had appeared directly in front of me, with the orb on its staff glowing brightly.

“Breath of Dreas!” It shouted instantly, the dense black mist released from its staff with blue lights twinkling inside.

The move was so fast that it had instantly enveloped me and burned my soul sense, I had spread far and wide, and immediately, I got contained in a very dangerous mist.

When I read the information on the old snake, three points stuck out the most. Dangerous, fast, and unpredictable.

It is the second most dangerous of all the Grimms. It is fast; a quality one does not associate with the special energy powerhouses. They usually have defensive abilities, wanting to defend the offensive move rather than dodge them, opposite to the old snake.

The same with unpredictability, which is considered its most dangerous ability; most special energy powerhouses are rational and calmer than regular powerhouses; it is not, at least not during battle. It is unpredictable; it is due to this quality it was able to make most of our Grandmasters suffer over the centuries.

As the black mist covered me, it did not waste any time attacking, and my god, it was dangerous, especially the blue particles.

Second Burst!

I activated the second burst without wasting any time; while this attack may seem like a common attack, it is extremely dangerous. At first, I thought I would be able to defend against it with the first boost, but the moment the mist touched me, I knew that would not be the case.

With the power of the second boost coursing through me, I opened the armor. Though not completely, I am being very careful; I don’t know what this bastard will do.

The mist attacked me, and I let it come inside me; as it entered, I quickly began to refine it. If others were to see it, they would be shocked; even the old snake would be shocked.

Grand Lords avoid the attacks of the old snake like a plague; while fighting, all the human Grand asked me to avoid the attacks, defend it or dodge it, but don’t take it to head.

Those who had tried paid the price for doing that.

More than two minutes, when I was finally able to deal with the mist, everything became clear, only to see an old snake looking at me smilingly.

I did not have time to ask the bastard the reason behind its creepy smile when I saw it as a huge black snake with a glittering horn as the blood crystal materialized in front of me; it was there, just invisible.

It revealed itself the moment I finished with the mist.

SHARRR!

The moment it revealed itself, it came at me at a speed that was many times faster than the old snake; it had appeared at me before even a loud roar reached me, and now want to pierce that very sharp horn made of extremely dense powerful curse energy into my body.

Even with all my immunities, I would be in great trouble if that horn pieces me.

Third Burst!

‘Shield of Rose!’ I activated the third boost, as it is not an attack that could be defended against with the second boost, and even summoned a silvery shield with a beautiful design of a rose on it, a moment before it came strike me.

CLANNNG!

The giant snake slowed inches away from my shield but was still able to clash with the force that made my eyes go wide and sent me back like a rocket, with blood leaking from my mouth and ears.

It had sent a powerful wave of concentrated curse energy, which, if entered inside me, would shrivel my body like a spoiled potato, but dealing with curses, was never a problem to me; it is physical momentum that gets me.

‘Bastard!’ I cursed inside me; I had thought the attack would be powerful, but not this powerful. It is more powerful than any attack of the Rofta; in our battle, it had made me summon even a single shield, but the attack of this bastard threw me back like a broken kite.

Finally, I could stop myself after more than ten miles, ten miles more, and I would have entered the fight between Grand Commander and Rai against three Grimms.

One could not underestimate this bastard; it is not like Rofta the Frogman, who only had barely a few days of experience of being Grand Lord; this bastard had been a Grand Lord for over a century. It had moves to deal with every type of attack; if it had not, seeing the trouble it made, matron mavis would burn this bastard alive a long time ago.

CLANNNG!

I did even get a chance to wipe the blood away before the snake came at me; it roared and clashed against my shield again with even greater momentum.

This time, I was better prepared; I had made the changes in my shield and armor, and now, it was not even able to throw me back, even a quarter of the speed than before, which surprised Bearman, that it was not able to control its emotions for a second.

CLANNNG CLANNG CLANNNG

I stopped at a little over a mile, but like before, just as I stopped, the snake came at me with even greater momentum, but it was not able to send me back long; it seemed to get the opposite effect till I stopped flying out and started taking the steps back.

CLANNNNG!

The snake came bearing one of its most powerful attacks yet, and it clashed against my shield, and for the first time, even it was not able to make me take.

I shook from head to toe and even vomited blood, but I did not take a step back, and that couldn’t help but make me smile, through the bloody teeth, while the old snake looked shocked.

“Nice attack, but it is my turn now!” I said bloodily, and next few seconds, my strings were revealed, covering the snake from every angle; the snake struggled hard seeing it bound, but all it was able to do is twitch.

I looked at the old snake, hoping to see shock or even horror, but I saw a smile, a big bright smile.

“You are so predictable, Zaar!” It said with a laugh before familiar cruelty flashed into its eye.

“Burn those strings!” said the old snake, and the moment it did, the whole snake turned into cursed flames. The flames were so strong they made my eyes go wide.

‘Fucking snake was hiding its real power,’ I thought, seeing the power of the cursed flames.

They stuck to my strings like tar, trying to burn them, and for a while, my strings were even able to resist before the change began to appear.

At first, the strings began to blacken up, but after more than two minutes of struggling, they began to burn and turned to ashes; I had to cut a connection to them to stop the fire from coming at me.
