Chapter 28 Everyone, Go Away!

I sighed and pressed the [Minion] section on my [Home] screen. It was time to calm the 'Little Piglet' down before nothing was left to rebuild –– it was time for his time out inside his home on my [Minion] section screen.

I was planning on building my own village like the system wanted. I think it was better to have a roof on my head and food on my plate as I plan my next move and gather more information about this world than aimlessly wandering in the unknown with little to no gil.

And I couldn't do that if that God destroyed all the trees and boulders.

<That's right! Tress that can be cut and minable boulders didn't have a respawn. It would be gone forever once you forage it>

Great!

I think this world wanted us to fight each other for resources like the world back on Earth.

"Ahahaha! How do you like it now?! Huh?! I was nothing but a benevolent God to you! Acquiring only little sacrifice in return of my protection, but you greedy Halflings wanted more! You bunch of as––!"

Before Little Piggy could finish its sentence, it went back to my [Minion] tab and became nothing more than an angry shouting pixels.

I sighed and twirled a finger into my ear. Its loud screeching voice damaged my eardrums.

I swiped away my screen and was about to check those blueprints and tokens when I heard voices coming my way.

"What happened here?"

"I heard a thundering voice and saw this giant pig destroy this village to dust."

"There were even some players who were wiped out by that Giant!"

I jumped to a tree's bark and hid my presence in the leaves as players converged in the now scorched empty land.

They must have been near the area and were attracted by the sudden commotion.

"What are we going to do now?"

"I still haven't gotten that Letter."

"Are all the villagers dead?"

"Rather, where did that Giant Pig go?"

There weren't many players down there. They were merely five of them. Probably most of them have gone somewhere else already.

But then, another group who had just arrived caught my eyes.

"What happened here?" Luke asked. His handsome face was haggard, and he was catching his breath.

Following right behind him were Jane and Soarsie.

My lips curved into a smirk upon seeing Soarsie's sore eyes and haggard face.

That's right . . . never stop blaming yourself for what you did to me. You deserve it.

ThuUmP!

Quiet you!

I knew that hurt and pain. It came from my other self, who was fighting for dominance.

Heh. Too bad. I'm still in control, and this skill couldn't be deactivated once activated.

"Luke. Are you really going to leave me behind? I can heal your injuries, and I will never take any more EXP or gil from you. Just don't abandon me," Jane begged.

While at the side, Soarsie stood with a blank face and hollowed eyes. She looked like she had aged doubled.

ThUumMP!

Shut it!

Luke ignored Jane and pressed the others for information about what happened. I wasn't interested in their conversation. All I wanted was for them to leave. ASAP!

I was so sure that my other self would run to Soarsie's leg as soon as he took over and even ask for forgiveness that he had worried her.

What an idiotic guy.

<That guy is still you Host>

Shush!

After another five minutes, the crowd finally dispersed when the first droplet of rain soaked the ground.

That's it . . . go and disappear — all of you. I muttered as I watched Luke and the others hurried away from the village while Jane was still chasing after him, begging and crying to take her with him.

Luke was probably going solo or would join others that were stronger than him. I could read it on his face that he had lost his patience in protecting two weak girls with no benefits.

It was probably the reason why he was so impatient in the first place. He couldn't wait to get rid of us and continue forward by himself.

Good call.

I would, too.

I would never take baggage with me.

There was nothing left in the village, so there was no point in them staying here.

My eyes draw to a slit as I look at Soarsie, who was still unmoving on her spot. She enveloped one hand over the other, trying to comfort and give heat to herself by rubbing her arm. Her chin crumpled before she broke into sobs. Not long after, her wales were drowned by the rain.

And all I felt . . . was impatience.

How long was she going to stand there?

<Host is too cruel ~ She's your ex, you know>

My other self's ex.

To me, she's nothing more than a stranger who was currently standing in the soil of my soon-to-be home.

She needed to get out.

I was over her, and I wasn't blaming her. Out here, every man for himself after all. And that applied to everyone, lovers or not. Family or not.

The thunder rumbled, followed by a loud gust of wind. Soarsie wiped away her tears that were drowned by the rain as she walked away, shoulders shaking and back hunched.

Finally!

But best to make sure that everyone was really going away from this village. I used [Evil Eyes] to scan the area.
