Chapter 58.2

Chapter 58 – A Pretty Useful Guy

It had already been three days since Ashia came to the Grand Duke’s mansion, and the times she saw Kaligo’s face were only a handful. But as promised from the beginning, he tried to spend the mealtime together.

“A room you can’t enter? There is no such thing. You are free to roam around.”

“Really? Even if I searched all the rooms inside the Grand Duke’s mansion?”

Kaligo put down his fork and drank water, then chuckled. “It doesn’t matter either.”

“Is that so…? The more you say that, the more I want to know where the limit is.”

“That too.”

“It doesn’t matter?”

“Yes.”

“…”

“I am serious. Ah.” He put down the napkin he had been wiping his mouth with and stood up from his chair. Ashia, who was waiting for him, also got up.

“What are you planning to do today?” Kaligo asked her as they were leaving the dining room and climbing down the stairs. “Are you also going to make potions today? Inside Ventus’ lab?”

“Yes, I think I can finish all urgent commissions if I make it today.”

“I see. Then what will you do tomorrow?”

“Um, I want to go to the store.”

Kaligo stopped on his steps and looked at her. “The repair work may not be finished yet.

“I have to see how much progress they made, and Theros will be worried. I was dragged here in haste so I couldn’t leave him a note. When I go out, I want to stop by Tero.”

“…” He looked at Ashia for a moment. His eyes were full of things he wanted to say, but he walked away as usual without saying anything. Kaligo took Ashia to the front of the lab and headed to his office. It was the third day already, but he still had a ton of work to do.

‘I think he’ll faint at this rate…’

Ashia stared at Kaligo’s back for a long time as he sent her back. Only then did she enter the lab after his figure disappeared down the stairs.

Even though her store had collapsed, the number of broken potions and incoming requests remained unchanged. Moreover, she didn’t have many potions to give to Kaligo.

She was thinking of going to Theros after she worked today, because he would be worried for the whole day tomorrow. She would also take a look around the store.

“How about this combination compared to the other one?”

“I have never thought of the attributes it will have with that combination.”

“Ah, is that so?”

“I’d rather use this herb for the first combination, and it also works better.”

“Ohh.”

The two people helped each other with the research and production, not leaving the laboratory until late. When the sky was already dark in the evening, Redin arrived at Ventus’ laboratory.

“Miss Ashia.”

What had changed over the course of three days was his way of calling her ‘Miss Ashia Bliss’ had been changed to only ‘Miss Ashia.’ He must have picked it up from Melanie.

“Redin?”

“His Excellency wanted to see you for a moment.”

“Kaligo is awake?”

“Yes, he is.”

Ashia had stopped by Kaligo’s office a few hours ago. It was because he didn’t come down even though it was time to eat lunch. But she had to go back as she didn’t want to wake him up when he had just slept.

He would naturally wake up after sleeping so well. Mumbling inwardly, Ashia followed Redin back to the Grand Duke’s office.

“You’ve arrived.”

As soon as they entered the office, she saw Kaligo. He was dressed neatly as if he had never slept.

“Yes… But weren’t you sleeping?”

Kaligo laughed silently when Ashia asked him with a confused look. “Yes, I had slept enough so I woke up.”

He didn’t look like someone who had just woken up. He looked like someone who had been awake the entire time.

“You said you’re going to the store tomorrow, right?”

“Yes, I did.”

“So I looked into it. They said it would be completed sooner than expected.”

“Oh, really? That’s good to hear.”

Kaligo got up from his chair and handed her a piece of paper. The paper detailed how the process of restoring the building was going, and the expected completion date.

Ashia looked down at the paper and nodded.

“Are you planning to go back to business right after the repair is completed?”

“Of course. I still don’t know how much I lost.”

“Well…”

“Why?”

At her question, Kaligo gave orders to Redin, who was standing behind him, “Tell him to come in.”

“Yes, Your Excellency.” Redin moved, opening the door to the office and pulling a man who was waiting outside.

“Oh, let me go. What’s the hurry? I can walk by myself.”

“You’re noisy. Behave yourself.”

A mumble rang out in the quiet office. Ashia’s gaze was also focused on the man entering through the door.

Ashia could recognize the person who was entering the office at a glance. Kaligo looked at the door, then looked at Ashia again.

“I won’t stop you from leaving the Grand Duke’s mansion. But instead, take him with you.”

“…”

“Just for a while. Even if he looks like that, he’s a pretty useful guy.”

“…”

The man who Redin dragged was forced to stand next to Kaligo.

“He will serve you for the time being. Greet her, Kyrian.”

“…”

“…”

It was none other than Kyrian who Kaligo had chosen as Ashia’s escort. Kyrian’s eyes also turned to the woman sitting opposite the Grand Duke. Kyrian’s mouth, which had been mumbling until now, was pursed tightly as if his lips were glued together.

“This… this must be a joke, right?”
