Chapter 83 - A Devoted Person

Chapter 83: A Devoted Person

Qiao Xuan had been curious about his fifth brother since he heard about him. He always wondered what he’s like in person.

Noticing that Qiao Xuan was staring at her, Qiao Yue winked at him mischievously. This stunned Qiao Xuan. He couldn’t help but cover his mouth with his fist to prevent others from seeing him smile.

Qiao Yue stared at the smile in Qiao Xuan’s eyes and couldn’t look away. His every move seemed attractive to her.

“Big brother.”

Qiao Jing’s sudden cold voice caught Qiao Yue’s eyes.

Qiao Xuan’s smile hadn’t completely disappeared when he turned to look at Qiao Jing.

“What’s wrong?”

“Dr. Lu asked if you can be at the hospital at eight tomorrow morning.”

For some reason, Qiao Yue detected a hint of displeasure in Qiao Jing’s voice.

“I’m fine with anything. No problem.” Qiao Xuan turned to look at Lu Ying as he spoke, his smile still warm.

They were going to have dinner together after the meeting, but Lu Ying and Qiao Xuan were both busy, so the dinner didn’t happen.

Qiao Yue’s eyes were glued to Qiao Xuan until he left.

“What were you looking at?” Qiao Jing walked up to Qiao Yue and asked.

Qiao Yue was snapped out of her daze by Qiao Jing. “Nothing.”

“Brother, are you going back to your room?” Qiao Yue asked.

“I have to attend a video conference later,” Qiao Jing replied.

Qiao Yue nodded. Excellent. It looked like she could sneak out tonight.

“I see! You’d better go back soon. I’m going back to my room to sleep. ”

Qiao Jing frowned slightly at Qiao Yue’s sudden change in attitude, but he went back to his room as Qiao Yue wished.

As expected, Qiao Yue received a text message from Lu Ying as soon as she returned to her room.

“‘Attaboy’, I’ll meet you there.”

“Attaboy” was one of the most famous bars in B-City of S-Country. It was hidden in a relatively quiet street. There was no menu, but a bartender would appear quickly when someone sat down.

As all cocktails at “Attaboy” were custom-made, there would be a bartender to personally understand the customer’s preferences and mood. While drinking, customers would also be treated to some special dishes. This was why Lu Ying loved “Attaboy”.

Qiao Yue replied with an “OK” and sneaked out of the hotel after making sure that both Qiao Jing and Qiao Xuan were busy. She took a taxi and headed straight to “Attaboy”.

The bar wasn’t big and was divided into two floors. In fact, it felt more like a pub.

Qiao Yue went to the second floor with familiarity and saw Lu Ying sitting in the corner at a glance.

“You came out pretty quickly this time,” Lu Ying said with a smile as Qiao Yue sat down.

Qiao Yue looked at Lu Ying’s drink and raised her eyebrows. “The usual?”

“Yes,” Lu Ying responded and took another sip of his drink.

“You’re really devoted,” Qiao Yue chuckled.

The bartender arrived at the right time and asked Qiao Yue, “Mr. Qiao, a dry martini as usual?”

“Sure. I’ll have a daiquiri later.” Qiao Yue added.

“Coming right up.”

After the bartender left, Lu Ying revisited the previous subject.

“If you say I’m devoted, aren’t you the same?”

Lu Ying looked at Qiao Yue intensely under the dim light and said.

Qiao Yue raised her eyebrows and took a bite of a fruit in front of them.

“I just like the way the bartender makes it here. Don’t you order a vesper martini everywhere you go?”

Word had it that vesper martini was the favorite drink of the girl Lu Ying liked, but the girl didn’t survive her terrible illness and died.

“Well, I also just like the taste of this cocktail.”

Seeing that Lu Ying was not willing to talk about it, Qiao Yue dropped the subject. Instead, she talked to Lu Ying about the last patient he treated.

“Didn’t the last patient say that he couldn’t make it anymore? Why? Are you asking the master for advice?” Qiao Yue teased.

Lu Ying instantly retracted his smile. This girl was making fun of him again.

However, he had to admit that her medical skills were indeed better than his. Before contacting their teacher, he had discussed the patient’s case with Qiao Yue. With the details Lu Ying gave her and half a month of observation, Qiao Yue gave him some suggestions.

Although he trusted Qiao Yue, he still contacted their teacher just in case. He only dared to treat the patient after their teacher came to the same conclusion. Fortunately, the outcome was good.

Lu Ying reached out and gently knocked Qiao Yue’s head. “Teacher asked you to visit him more often. He’s afraid that you’ll forget him.”

“In a while! I won’t be able to leave the Qiao family in the near future.”
