150 An Ominous Feeling
Of course, the panic lasted only for a moment. The bodyguards responsible for Trand’s safety were no ordinary people. They quickly regained control of the convoy and a body was thrown out of the first car.
The ambush did not cause much damage to Trand’s team. The Team A leader turned his head and asked, “Master Yue, why did we ambush them here? Wouldn’t it be more effective if we teamed up with Militant and Rose?”
Qiao Yue smiled lightly and looked at the man. She didn’t answer his question but said, “Let’s follow them.”
Since it was an arsenal, Trand would have situated it in a desolate place, and he would avoid surveillance while he got there. It was the perfect location for a sneak attack or an ambush.
As for Militant and Rose, their main job was to wear down Trand and his team. As the top snipers in the organization, apart from their outstanding sniping skills, they were also incredibly good at setting up traps and ambushes.
The real fight would be at Trand’s base, and Qiao Yue wanted to take Trand and his team out completely.
Linchuan road cut through the suburbs and away from the city. There was a remote village about two hours away. It was Trand’s stronghold in C-Country. It’s Trand’s base for all sort of illegal activities, from drug trafficking to human trafficking.
As for how Qiao Yue had discovered Trand’s secret stronghold, it was all thanks to YQ. He said that he discovered it while sorting through some information in the organization out of curiosity. He discovered the small mountain village while tracing a smuggling route.
Qiao Yue believed whatever YQ said and didn’t question him. This was also the reason YQ treated Qiao Yue differently from others.
Unlike Chu Jia and the rest, the people in the organization would not talk about things other than the mission when they were deployed. This reminded Qiao Yue of the time when she first joined the organization.
She was considered special in the organization because she was adopted by the previous Godfather. However, her special trait did not come with special treatment. Instead, she was trained more strictly than others. There were countless times when she suspected that the Godfather only adopted her to torture her to death.
