Chapter 227 - 227 Destroying the Props

227 Destroying the Props

After Qiao Xin finished her song, she turned on the sound system and replayed the song she had just sung.

Qiao Xin’s sense of rhythm and music was not bad, but she lacked talent. There was nothing special about her voice; it was even a little unpleasant to hear.

Although the song had been autotuned, it was still a little uncomfortable for the ear.

“How is it, Dad?” Qiao Xin was immersed in her singing and didn’t care about her father’s frown.

Qiao Li smiled. “Not bad. Keep up the good work.”

Qiao Li didn’t really think that she sang well.

It didn’t really matter to him if Qiao Xin could sing or be an artiste. She just needed to be useful.

Qiao Xin was so engrossed in her dream of becoming a big star that she had no idea what lay ahead.

Soon, it was the day of Harvey’s anniversary party.

When Qiao Yue arrived at the dressing room, it was bustling with activity.

The girls were busy perfecting the costumes, while the boys helped assemble the props.

The program that Hong Ning was rehearsing for was more like a stage play than a dance. It was a combination of several types of dance and plots, and the props for each scene were different, so people had to move them around.

The props for Qiao Xin’s class performance were much simpler.

Qiao Xin was covering her class performance single-handedly. Only she and the staff from AT with professional autotuning equipment were in the dressing room now.

Qiao Xin looked at the people in Hong Ning’s class who were busy with their work, and said with her face was full of disdain, “So unprofessional. To have the cheek to go on stage with props made out of Styrofoam and bubble wrap.”

The AT staff all echoed Qiao Xin.

Hong Ning rolled her eyes at Qiao Xin. “Do you think you can win the award just because you have professional autotuning equipment? Don’t you know how terrible you sound?”

Seeing that Hong Ning actually scolded her, Qiao Xin walked over and kicked the prop that had just been assembled.

She was too fast, and no one stopped her.

The city tower made out of Styrofoam and bubble wrap was instantly dismantled by her kick.

Bubble wrap and Styrofoam were all over the floor, along with thumbtacks and ropes used to hold them together.

“Qiao Xin! We’re about to go on stage, why did you destroy our props!” Hong Ning shouted.

With this shout, everyone in the dressing room looked over.

Qiao Xin’s class and Qiao Yue’s class were in the same dressing room, so Qiao Yue and her classmates were there.

When Qiao Yue saw that it was Qiao Xin and Hong Ning having a stand-off, she walked over and stood in front of Hong Ning.

“Qiao Yue! What are you doing here?” Qiao Xin was filled with anger when she saw Qiao Yue.

“You destroyed our props, shouldn’t you apologize?”

Qiao Xin looked at Qiao Yue with a cheeky smile. “Yes, yes. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

Her face was full of contempt and smugness. “So what? Even if I said sorry, we are only an hour away from the show. You won’t be able to fix it. Just wait until you make a fool of yourself on stage! Hehe!”

“The school’s anniversary party is such a big event, and you think you can mess around?” Qiao Yu had somehow arrived at the scene and grabbed Qiao Xin.

“The Student Council and all the classes have prepared hard for it. Now that you’ve ruined a performance and the party, you’ll have to take responsibility.” Qiao Yu said with a cold face.

“Take responsibility? What responsibility?” Qiao Xin laughed. “Fourth brother, don’t act all righteous now. I am also performing tonight, and it might even be the best performance. Even if you want to hold me accountable, the school might not let you.”

Qiao Yu was about to say something when he saw that Qiao Yue had already squatted down to examine the broken prop.

The entire city tower was built using Styrofoam. The connecting parts were damaged so even nails and ropes might not hold it back together again.

“This is probably not fixable anymore. Why don’t we go without this prop?” Hong Ning walked to Qiao Yue’s side and said.

Qiao Yue shook her head. “Not necessarily.”

She held up the prop and examined carefully.

“You still want to fix it? Didn’t your people say that it’s not fixable anymore?” Qiao Xin sneered.

Qiao Yue stood up and walked up to Qiao Xin. “Do you know what you just did?”

Qiao Xin looked straight at Qiao Yue and said provocatively, “I do, but you can’t fix it now, right?”

“Qiao Xin, you’d better be careful.” Qiao Yue said and walked back to the prop.

Qiao Xin thought about the way Qiao Yue looked at her just now and cursed him in her heart. She dared not say anything more.

Qiao Yue’s gaze just now was a little scary.
