237 In Trouble
When the two of them arrived at the Qiao residence, it was already dinner time.
There was an unexpected guest here today: Qiao Ze.
Qiao Ze had brought an ordinary looking man with black-rimmed glasses to the Qiao residence.

Qiao Yue looked at Qiao Xin in surprise. Qiao Xin did have some talent as an artiste because she could cry on command.
“But it’s good that Qiao Yue’s class got first place.”
Although she was complimenting Qiao Yue, Qiao Yue could hear the grudge in her words.
“That’s good. Second place isn’t too shabby either.” Old Master Qiao nodded. “Qiao Yue did well this time. Next time, Qiao Xin will do better and win first place.”
“That’s right. Qiao Yue will do better next time and win first place.” Qiao Li said as he fixed his gaze on Qiao Yue.
He realized that he’d really underestimated Qiao Yue. A few days ago, when Qiao Yi was kicked out of the house, he’d thought that it was because of the conflict between Qiao Yi and the old master. It looked like Qiao Yue was the catalyst.
Today’s incident made him realize that Qiao Yue was no simpleton.
He hadn’t been living at the Qiao residence for long, but he had managed to get the people with the right to speak in the family, from Old Master Qiao to Qiao Jing, on his side.

Qiao Xin would probably have to stay home for at least half a year before she could go back to school.

Old Master Qiao said to Qiao Yue, “You’ve done well in your exams and extra-curricular activities. Let your brother take you out to celebrate Christmas.”
