Chapter 281 - 281 The Departure

281 The Departure

“Alright.” Qiao Yue said, looking at the warriors in front of her. “Thank you all.”

“You don’t have to thank us,” Colonel Su was just about to say something else when Qiao Yue fell backward.

Qiao Jing rushed forward to hold her.

“Ai Ye!” Colonel Su called out.

Ai Ye quickly walked over and put his hand under Qiao Yue’s nose.

Qiao Yue’s breathing was a rapid. Ai Ye looked at his teammates and said, “I’ll need to check if he has any external injuries.”

Ai Ye undid Qiao Yue’s clothes and found that Qiao Jing had turned around.

Ai Ye was a little confused. Wasn’t Qiao Yue a young master? Why did Qiao Jing look away?

And then, Ai Ye was shocked. This young master wasn’t just a girl, she had scars all over the body from years of fighting or military training.

Ai Ye’s heart ached at the sight of these scars.

Girls were vain and didn’t want any scars on their bodies, but Qiao Yue was covered in scars.

He carefully examined Qiao Yue and found no fatal wounds. He asked Qiao Yue to put on her clothes and reached out to check her pulse.

Ai Ye had studied both Western and Chinese medicine.

“She’s probably exhausted and stressed out. Also, she might’ve been injected with some psychotic drugs.” Ai Ye turned Qiao Yue’s wrist over and looked for needle marks. There were none. It seemed that someone had drugged her.

“You must rest when you get home. You can’t overwork yourself anymore.”

Qiao Jing carried Qiao Yue in his arms and nodded. “I’ll make sure of it.”

“You must take good care of her when you get home. She’s a Custodians hero tonight. If you don’t take good care of her, we… Your Qiao family is too useless.” Colonel Su was a little incoherent.

The other members of the team looked at Colonel Su and felt that he was acting strange. Why was he so concerned about the youngest master of the Qiao family? Were they related?

Colonel Su was a core member of The Custodians, considered one of the founders. He had always been cold to people.

Rumor had it that he lived in C-Country when he was young and his entire family was killed by drug dealers. So, when he left the army, he founded The Custodians and never returned to C-Country.

If not for the mission to capture Andy, Colonel Su would probably still be in D-Country.

“I will, Colonel Su.” Qiao Jing nodded and looked away.

He now knew who Colonel Su was.

Although he had bits and pieces of information from his investigation and some scattered memories, he was able to piece together this man.

“Please leave in peace. I will take good care of Qiao Yue.”

“Okay.” Colonel Su took a last look at Qiao Yue before he turned and left with his team.

When they got on to the helicopter, many of the team members were still wondering what happened. Could Colonel Su be taking a godson and a goddaughter in C-Country after their seamless cooperation with Qiao Jing and Qiao Yue tonight?

There were many speculations, but no one asked Colonel Su.

As soon as Colonel Su got on to the helicopter, he took off his mask and looked at the sky outside, as if lost in thought.

After a long time, he sighed. The faint morning light in the distance illuminated his face, and his usual hard-as-a-rock expression, seemed to have cracked.

Everyone looked at Colonel Su.

They had never seen such a sorrowful expression this steely warrior’s face.

It was probably because the two young masters were about the same age as his two deceased children.

The police had already arrived downstairs and had taken the girls out of the hotel.

The powerful people involved and Qiao Yi were all taken into police cars. Qiao Ze was among them, and many of the reporters’ cameras and microphones were pointed at him.

“Third Young Master Qiao, may I ask if you are involved in your father’s matter? What do you think of the vicious incident caused by your management company?”

“Qiao Ze, please answer our questions.”

Qiao Ze did not speak. He only stared at the building entrance.

It wasn’t until he saw Qiao Jing carry Qiao Yue out of the building that he turned and lowered his head.

It was fine as long as they were safe.

Qiao Xin was also in the crowd. When she saw Qiao Yi, she almost went crazy. She rushed up to him and kicked and hit him. “Second uncle, you are a liar! I almost lost my life. How dare you joke around with my life?”

The police quickly pulled the two apart and pushed them into separate police cars.
