Chapter 33.2 – Your Highness, Don’t Cause Trouble (2)

Qi Bo was temporarily confused. He stood in a distance for a long time and couldn’t look away, but he thought that his guess was absurd. He saw Qi Yang pressing the Young Master’s head pressed on her shoulders, as if she was comforting her. The Young Master also only struggled symbolically for a short moment, and soon compromised.

The two’s back look very harmonious, although their actions seemed a bit reversed.

Just as Qi Bo was lost in thought looking at the two’s back, a voice suddenly appeared beside him, saying emotionally, “There’s a beautiful woman comforting him in front of the mourning hall. Lord Lu and his fiancée really have a good relationship.”

This sudden voice finally brought Qi Bo back to his senses, but his heart trembled because of his words.

But who was Qi Bo? After going through ups and downs for decades, he had already developed the ability to keep his poker face even if Mount Tai collapsed. All his shock was restrained in the blink of an eye.

He turned his head calmly and saw that a young man in white had approached him at some time, looking at the two people leaning against each other in front of the mourning hall.

With just a glance, Qi Bo could notice that the visitor’s mind was impure. He narrowed his eyes slightly, and immediately regained the humility and politeness one would expect from an old butler. He said, “I wonder which Young Master this is?”

The gates of Lu Mansion were opened wide today for people to pay their condolences, so even strangers could easily come.

The young man wasn’t of the same caliber as Qi Bo, and he obviously couldn’t see the hidden depths of the old man before him. After a slight nod to say hello, he declared his identity. “My name is Liu Chen. I currently work in Hanlin Academy, a colleague of Lord Lu.”

Qi Bo nodded and thanked Liu Chen for coming to pay his condolences, but he was thinking something else inside. He didn’t doubt Liu Chen’s identity, but the people from Hanlin Academy had already come earlier, and they showed up together.

Only this Liu Chen chose to come separately from the others, so it was obvious that he had other plans. Plus, he also said those words with ambiguous meaning earlier.

The knowledgeable Qi Bo suddenly came up with a conspiracy theory. After all, it was obviously not good for Lu Qipei’s reputation to have an ambiguous entanglement with a woman in front of her brother’s mourning hall.

Liu Chen didn’t know that Qi Bo next to him had become wary of himself, and was still thinking of getting some information out of the old butler’s mouth. So, he first expressed his condolences for Lu Qicheng’s early death, then shifted the topic to Lu Qipei, then finally began asking about Qi Yang in a roundabout way.

Ever since he returned from the outing that day, Liu Chen always felt that there was something wrong no matter how he thought about it. Qi Yang and Lu Qipei’s interaction was naturally sweet enough, and even after the two left, the Hanlin Academy gang still complained of getting a toothache.

But when Liu Chen looked back, he found that when Lu Qipei introduced Qi Yang, she didn’t even mention her surname. Moreover, Her Royal Highness The Princess had a majestic and noble aura, and it was something that had seeped to the bones and not something that other people could learn.

Even if Liu Chen couldn’t figure out Qi Yang’s identity right now, he still had some guesses in his heart. Then he looked back and compared himself with Lu Qipei; in terms of age, appearance, talent and even official position, he actually didn’t have any advantage!

This made Liu Chen, who always thought highly of himself, a little angry for a while. But how could he let go of the huge wealth and honor in front of him?

Qi Bo dealt with Liu Chen without leaking anything. Although he was also confused about his Young Master’s “fiancée” who appeared out of nowhere, he never lost the ability to respond appropriately. He navigated so well it almost left Liu Chen in the dust.

Then, Qi Bo learned about the plum blossom forest outing from Liu Chen. He heard how Princess Qi Yang had said that she was his Young Master’s fiancée, and Lu Qipei readily admitted to it…

Now the number of confused people increased to two, and Qi Bo couldn’t figure out what Lu Qipei was thinking. If he said it was a lie, the two figures snuggling each other in front of the mourning hall didn’t look like it was false. But if it was true, then how could two women get together?

Could it be that the Young Master had been pretending to be a man for so long that she really considered herself a man!?

In an instant, Qi Bo began to reflect on the training and teaching he gave Lu Qipei over the years, and at the same time he also became flustered. If Lu Qicheng was still alive, whether Lu Qipei being an official or the matter with the Princess, both would undoubtedly bring great benefits.

But now that he was gone, Lu Qipei’s identity must be firmly covered up, otherwise the crime of deceiving the Emperor would fall upon them!

Under such circumstances, how could she mess with the princess? If her identity was revealed, if it was revealed that she tricked the Emperor’s daughter into a misplaced love, Qi Bo could imagine how tragic the result would be.

Lu Qicheng was gone, and Lu Qipei was now their only hope. Qi Bo was much more cautious than before, and he cherished Lu Qipei’s life even more. But after a moment of anxiety, his eyes suddenly lit up with ambition.

They had been waiting for too many years for the world to turn peaceful and prosperous, until their hairs turned white. Qi Bo’s heart was firm; waiting dormantly for so many years had almost consumed all his energy and ground off all his edges.

Now there was finally a great opportunity in front of him, was he going to hold back just because a little bit of difficulty?

If, if Lu Qipei could hide her identity, and become the princess’s Prince Consort…

Qi Bo looked at the couple leaning against each other in front of the mourning hall once more, and the hesitation and anxiety in his eyes gradually disappeared, once again becoming firm.
