Chapter 79.1 – Want Me To Feed You Too?

After Lu Qipei took back the little dumpling, she didn’t give her to Qi Yang for the whole dinner. She was really patient, and after the maid brought the food suitable for children, Lu Qipei really fed the child spoon by spoon, with gentle and meticulous movements.

This time, the one with sour heart was Qi Yang. She watched helplessly as Lu Qipei took care of Lu Sheng, while she ate alone as if she had been left out. Suddenly, that little dumpling did not look as cute as before.

A pair of jealous eyes were trained her way from time to time, but Lu Qipei’s eyes were still smiling ignorantly as she kept feeding Lu Sheng.

Meanwhile, the child seemed to be quite sensitive to people’s emotions. Before Lu Qipei could finish feeding her, she suddenly held her small bowl and said, “Uncle, go eat. I can eat by myself.”

The little dumpling looked at Lu Qipei. Her black eyes were bright and shining, but the expression on her face was very serious.

Lu Qipei looked at her for a while, then finally handed her the spoon. “Can you really eat by yourself?”

Lu Sheng nodded, looking very serious. After taking the spoon, as if to prove that she was not lying, she took a spoonful of rice and put it in her mouth in one go. But a child was still a child after all; she scooped just a little too much and put the spoon in a little too deep, so half of them fell on her lapel, staining her clothes.

Qi Yang couldn’t stand it anymore and took a handkerchief to wipe the rice that spilled on her lapel. “It’s ok, eat well. This is not a big deal.”

Lu Qipei didn’t say anything, and Lu Sheng chewed slowly and became a little timid.

Afterwards, Lu Sheng became more careful. The two adults also didn’t care about eating and watched her eat the food in the small bowl little by little. Then, as if she had completed an important task, Lu Sheng held the empty bowl and solemnly told them, “I’m finished.”

Lu Qipei smiled, while Qi Yang reached her hand out and rubbed her head. “Very good.”

Lu Sheng’s eyes lit up instantly. She pursed her lips and smiled as she looked at them, the look in her eyes becoming more intimate. Perhaps it was because no one had ever paid attention to her, but she would become close to anyone who showed her some intimacy.

The child’s expression was simple and natural, and the intimacy and admiration in her gaze was something genuine. It easily made people’s hearts melt.

Qi Yang’s heart was shaken again. She stared at Lu Sheng for a long time until the little dumpling’s face turned red and she tried going into Lu Qipei’s arms.

Then, she turned to Zhi Ting and said, “Arrange some personal maids for her. Find a few young and honest servant girls to accompany her. Don’t let her run around the mansion alone.”

Zhi Ting felt a little uneasy when she heard those words. Of course, there was no shortage of maids and servants in the princess mansion. But this being arranged for Lu Sheng had a different meaning. On one hand, it confirmed that she would be staying around, and on the other hand, it was also a disguised acknowledgement of her status!

This made Zhi Ting feel a little hard to accept, but she didn’t dare to say anything else under Qi Yang’s calm and dignified eyes. She didn’t understand what Her Highness was thinking, so she could only lower her head and slowly answer, “Understood, I will arrange it.”

Qi Yang withdrew her gaze. She didn’t let Lu Sheng stay for long afterwards, and soon had the maid take her away.

The little dumpling left, and the remaining two began to eat. After all those twists and turns, the food on the table was already cold, so there was no other choice but to reheat them. Qi Yang looked at the dishes that had been re-served, but she had lost most of her appetite.

Lu Qipei picked up her chopsticks to pick some dishes for her, and smiled at the same time. “Why is Ah Ning’s chopsticks not moving. Do you want me to feed you too?”

Page after page of the book turned, and Qi Yang didn’t say anything until late at night. Lu Qipei counted the time and put away the book, then put out the light and laid back down. After that, Qi Yang skillfully rolled into her arms, but her fingertips were scratching at her heart.

It seemed to be some kind of hint.

Lu Qipei reached out and grabbed the troublemaking hand, then said in a deep voice, “There will be a big meeting tomorrow.”

If Qi Yang had something she wanted to do, why didn’t she say so earlier? It’s not like Lu Qipei had to read the book.

Knowing that Lu Qipei had misunderstood, Qi Yang snorted softly. “What are you thinking about? It’s been inconvenient for me for the past two days.”

Lu Qipei seemed to remember too, and her voice in the night sounded a little disappointed. “Oh.”
