Chapter 100.2 – Hands-on Teaching

Lu Sheng angrily buried her face in Lu Qipei’s neck, leaving Qi Yang only her small back and ignoring her.

Lu Qipei pursed her lips in amusement and asked Qi Yang for her, “Then what about the rabbit? Didn’t Your Highness promise Ah Sheng to catch a rabbit for her?”

The little dumpling’s ears twitched and she wanted to look back at Qi Yang, but she held back when she remembered that she was still angry.

Of course, this little gesture could not be concealed from Lu Qipei and Qi Yang’s eyes. They both looked at each other with a smile. And Qi Yang was not going to trick the child for fun, and she didn’t say no to it. “If Ah Sheng likes it, it’s fine to catch two and bring them home to play with.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Sheng turned around with sparkling eyes, showing that she was not angry anymore.

The child’s temper came and went away quickly. Seeing this, Lu Qipei couldn’t help teasing her and said, “Do you still want me to teach you archery?”

Lu Sheng already knew that she wouldn’t be able to draw the bow, and she gaze a little aggrievedly at the small bow. But after hearing Lu Qipei’s words, she nodded firmly and said, “Yes. When Ah Sheng is five years old, I will be able to draw the bow!”

Her words were childish, but very firm.

Lu Qipei raised her eyebrows and acknowledged it. She lowered the child and looked at the target in the distance – the princess’s mansion was not a military general’s residence, and there was no training ground there. Today, for the sake of convenience, Qi Yang and the others just set up a target in the front yard of the main courtyard. The courtyard was not small, but it’s not that big for archery. The target was only thirty or forty steps away, which was actually pretty close.

Previously, Qi Yang had already shot a few arrows to test her skills, and four or five arrows were stuck on the target, not far from the bull’s eye. It seemed that it wouldn’t be difficult for Qi Yang to pick her skills back up before the Autumn Hunt.

After seeing the target, Lu Qipei borrowed the bow and arrow from Qi Yang. Her Royal Highness The Princess slightly raised her eyebrows and lent it to her. After testing it out for a short while, Lu Qipei drew the bow and fired an arrow. It flew through the air and hit the bull’s eye. Both in terms of accuracy and strength, it was much better than Qi Yang.

Upon seeing this, Lu Sheng’s eyes lit up immediately, and her small hands made clapping sounds, looking very excited.

It was rare for someone to cheer her like this. Even if it was just a small dumpling, Lu Qipei still felt a bit satisfied inside. She pursed her lips and looked at Qi Yang.

Her Royal Highness raised her chin and said, “Prince Consort hasn’t used a bow and arrow for a long time, but never lost her touch. Fine, then you can teach me. Lu Sheng isn’t in a hurry, since she’s still young.”

The young Lu Sheng blinked in confusion, looking at Qi Yang and then at Lu Qipei. She felt a sense of panic that the teacher she had finally found was about to be taken away. She took a few steps forward and ran in front of Lu Qipei. She hugged her leg and emphasized in a milky voice, “Uncle, teach me!”

This was the first time Lu Qipei’s thigh was hugged, and she went stiff for a moment. Especially when she tried to pull her leg and found that the child had held her too tightly to pull out. She had no choice but to look at Qi Yang and compromise with the little dumpling. “Okay, okay. I’ll teach Ah Sheng. Can Ah Sheng let go of you hand first please? It’s really impolite to do this, and outsiders are not allowed to do it.”

Upon hearing those words, Lu Sheng obediently released her hands and more obediently apologized to Lu Qipei, accepting the teachings of her elders. When she looked at Lu Qipei, her eyes were still sparkling, filled with anticipation.

It’s not right to deceive children. Since Lu Qipei agreed, of course she wouldn’t break her promise. She picked up the bow and arrow, and carefully taught Lu Sheng. From the posture when holding the bow to the angle of shooting, it could be said that she did her best.

Of course, such teaching was actually of no use. After all, the child couldn’t even draw a bow.

However, teaching the child the posture when holding a bow was enough to send her away. Lu Sheng was very smart and didn’t insist on what she couldn’t do right now. When she was taught how to hold the bow, she learned how to hold the bow. She held up her little bow and posed beside Lu Qipei, looking just like her.

Lu Qipei gave her a few words of guidance while pretending to be serious when she felt her clothes being pulled. She turned around and saw Qi Yang beckoning at her with a bow and arrow. Her eyes were suddenly tinged with a smile.

After dismissing the little dumpling with a few words, Lu Qipei began teaching Qi Yang.

Her Royal Highness The Princess learned archery at the age of five, and was taught by the Crown Prince’s personal tutor. Other than having to practice more, she didn’t actually need anyone to teach her. Only when the Prince Consort personally came to teach did she pretend to not know anything and insist that she teach her hands on.

Lu Qipei saw through her thoughts and did not reveal them, so the two of them started the lesson silently. Unlike the previous oral teaching and personal demonstration when she was teaching Lu Sheng, the two’s hands-on teaching was clearly too intimate.

After a while, Lu Sheng’s arms became too sore from raising her bow, and she wanted Lu Qipei if she had made any mistakes in her posture. And when she turned her head, she saw her uncle holding Her Highness’s hand, half holding the latter in her arms and teaching her how to shoot the arrows.

Lu Sheng (at a loss): Who am I, where am I, and have I been casually dealt with again?!

Qi Yang (suddenly looking stern): You’re still being given the cold shoulder!

Lu Sheng (…): QAQ1
