Soul Bound: Shiro

Looking at the armour, Shiro noticed that it was a one piece set and couldn't be mixed with other pieces.

'I suppose that makes sense. After all, the passive buffs are quite powerful. Not to mention the fact that it's orange. If I can give this to Helion, he should be able to help me buff it to a standard where I can use it after level 85.' She mused to herself.

{It's a bit unfortunate that one of the core focuses of this armour is defence though. With your defence stat, it's a bit of a waste don't you think?}

'Mn. But the 10k INT bonus is already quite nice.' Shiro nodded before storing the armour away.

Looking towards the altar, she wondered about what kind of ritual the reaper was doing. After all, he described it as sacred.

Walking up the steps on the altar, she felt a little uncomfortable.

Furrowing her brows, she frowned at the foreign feeling. It was the type of feeling that she hadn't had for a long time.

'Is it fear? Why would I fear it?' Shiro thought to herself.

{Be careful my queen.} Nimue warned since she too didn't feel too good about the situation.

'I know.'

Reaching the top of the altar, she saw a mirror of sorts.

Furrowing her brows, she wondered about whether or not she should touch it.

'Hmm… I don't exactly know what the reaper counts as sacred. For all I know, it might just kill me straight away.' Shiro thought to herself.

Shaking her head, she decided to play it safe and leave for now. She'll search up info regarding the mirror later.

Jumping down the altar, she made her way to the Obelisk and chose to be teleported to the teleport shrine that was situated in the city.

Glancing at her MP that had hit a satisfying 15 million dead on, Shiro couldn't help but nod her head.

'I wish both my HP and MP rounded up like this all the time. How satisfying would that be.' She thought with a smile.

Making her way back to the castle, she noticed a few elves trailing her and understood that they're probably from the first prince's faction.

'About time. I wonder how the preparation regarding the third prince's support is going on. Once that's done, we can start to move towards the fourth prince while everyone else fights.' Shiro thought to herself and slowly blended into the crowd.

Shocked by her sudden disappearance, the followers quickly searched around but weren't able to find any sign of her.

"We need to report back." They whispered to each other and left the area.

While this was happening, Shiro had been observing the situation from the shadow of the buildings.

Flicking her fingers, she sent little tracker bots onto their clothes so that she could see which faction they were in.

With that sorted, she could finally make her way back to the castle.

Upon entering the castle, she saw one of the maids approach her.

"The elders await your presence." She said simply before leaving.

Raising an eyebrow, Shiro couldn't help but feel her smile twitch.

"At least tell me which room." She muttered and shook her head.

Flickering besides the maid, she tapped her shoulder.

"Where are they?" Shiro asked.

"Ah right. They're in the usual room." The maid replied dully which sent alarm bells ringing in Shiro's mind.

'Somethings not right.' She frowned.

Making her way to the usual conference room, she traced her fingers along the walls and sent nanobots to scout out the area ahead.

Seeing that nothing was out of the ordinary, Shiro wondered what was wrong.

Knocking softly on the door, she entered the room.

"So what did you want?" She asked while looking at the elders that sat around the table.

"We've finished our task of allocating some support to the third prince. The second prince has already found out and we think that the first prince is going to find out soon. Weirdly enough, we found out that he's been sending his scouts to find out about something else first. We're not sure of what though." One of the elders replied and gestured for Shiro to take a seat.

"Hmm… I think that may or may not be because of me. But that's fine also since it's still within the error margin. I think it's about time to speed things up a little. I've almost reached a level where I can contest against most of their main supporters if I used my berserk skills so we have a safety guarantee." Shiro smiled and crossed her legs.

"Really? You're level 65 you know that right? They have level 100's and even those in the B class." Another elder pointed out while looking at her level in confusion.

"Ah right. I still have the disguise on. You see, my level is actually 77. With the weapons, and skills that I have, I can fight the average level 100 to a decent standard. I'm not too sure about the B class enemies yet which is why I said 'most' of their main supporters." Shiro replied.

"Why don't we give you some weapons and armour to help you?"

"Weapon wise I'm fine. As for the armour, I'm ok for now since I have a set ready to be equipped when I'm level 80. Most of the preparations that we can do right now have already been done. I just need to see the fourth prince so that I can determine his personal qualities for myself."

"We can do that now if you want. Lefyr should be helping out in the orphanage around this time." The elders suggested.

"Sure that's ok. Ah but I want to ask you something first, what's up with that messenger you sent me? Why does she feel a bit… absentminded?" Shiro asked with a raised eyebrow.

From what she could see in the maid's eyes, it was as if she wasn't focused on anything and could only act according to the orders that she was given. Lifeless.

"Freda? She's one of the failed 'products' of the same family that had experimented with Cyril. She was just one of the less fortunate since the experiment had permanently damaged her mind. While we wanted to just take care of her, what little shred of herself that remained insisted on giving us a hand so we had no choice but to let her do what she wants." One of the elders sighed.

"So I've been hearing talk about this family and how they've experimented with Cyril but you've never stated their name."

"It's not important as we've already taken care of them. Let's go to Lefyr now since he may not be at the orphanage for long." The elder shook his head and stood up.

Understanding that he probably didn't want to talk more about the family that experimented on life, Shiro stayed silent and followed behind them.

Walking through the castle, they talked a little about how much power is behind both the princes due to the support they've gained from the factions.

The biggest danger was naturally the Rising Sun faction since it was the closest to the elven country.

'I wonder if the faction has anyone that recognises Kuromi.' Shiro mused to herself. Since Kuromi had Japanese origins and the faction was Japanese too, she had guessed that there may be a link.

{Well I suppose it's very likely. After all, Kuromi seemed to have made quite an impression of herself. Honestly, I'm surprised that no one had found you to be familiar yet.} Nimue remarked.

'True… That's quite strange. But I suppose if I think about it, she mostly made an impression near the front lines. Everyday there are new people appearing left right and centre. It would be only natural if she was buried under the pile of rising stars. Plus, there's not much of a priority on me since the last news was just me leaving the house. If anything, they'll expect me to return sooner or later.' Shiro shrugged.

Soon, they arrived at the orphanage.
