963 Chapter 963

"Hey Ian." The policeman said with a big grin on his face. "Are these guys bothering you?"

Ian couldn't help but laugh and shake his head at how silly his situation was.

"Why are you wearing a lower ranked policeman's uniform roaming the streets of the old town?" Ian asked. "Shouldn't the great Damien Park be sitting behind a desk rather than patrolling the streets?"

"D- D- D- Damien Park?" One of the men stuttered as soon as he realized who Damien was.

Damien laughed and shook his head, amused at how Ian had turned the tables against those assaulting him. He barely had to lift  a finger and simply used Damien to scare them.

"You know, if there is anyone here you should be afraid of, it's Ian." Damien looked at Ian and grinned. "He is much more dangerous than I am."

At his words the men looked nervously at each other, they didn't know if they were going to believe the man that claimed to be the famous police general or not.

One of them finally decided that it was better to be safe rather than sorry and decided to turn and run.

"Let's get out of here." He told his companions as he pulled them away.

Ian couldn't help but chuckle as he took out his phone and typed away some orders.

He had honestly thought that after what had happened to their leader in the past they would simply vanish. It seemed that he had been mistaken and they had foolishly gone after him still.

"Do I want to know what you are doing?" Damien pretended to peer at Ian's phone, making Ian laugh and shake his head.

"I think you would rather not." Ian placed his phone back in his pocket as a grin crept up on his face. "Some people are just too stupid or cocky." He commented as the three men sped away in their cars.

"Is Mr. Reyes' matter settled?" Damien asked, changing the topic.

"I was on my way to settle it." Ian didn't want to tell his friend too many details. The less he knew and the less involved he was, the cleaner Damien would be.

"Are you involved?" Damien asked in a dark tone.

"Why would you ask me that?" Ian was surprised by Damien's question. He never thought his friend would doubt his intentions.

"I know your heart will always be in the right place. I was just shocked when I had to collect Henry from his office and take him to Mountain View." Damien was still quite serious, it was clear that he was trying to find out more.

"Henry was acting on another person's orders. My family had nothing to do with it, if that's what concerns you." Ian said with a sigh as he shook his head and leaned against his car.

"Good." Damien nodded. "I didn't want to think about what I would have to do if you told me that Mr. Reyes and his friends were actually the bad guys and that you were trying to give the real good guys their proper place."

Ian laughed at his friend's absurd thought.

"Why would you think I would always be on the good guys' side?" He asked his friend.

"Because I know who you are and I know that despite everything you cannot stand injustices." He explained to Ian. "I know that despite being in the Mafia you never really hurt anyone that didn't deserve it. I've always known that you have a good heart."

"Thank you." Ian smiled as he stood straight and opened the door to his car. "I should get going, I still need to settle this matter."

"Wait before you go. . ." Damien hesitated to complete his statement.

Ian gave him a confused look before closing his car door once more. He crossed his arms on his chest and waited for Damien to continue speaking.

When Damien remained silent, Ian knew that he needed to push his friend to continue speaking.

"You know, the longer you keep whatever that is, the more difficult it will be to say." Ian pointed out. He wasn't a patient person, but the man in front of him was one of his best friends, one of the people that stayed by his side despite his family's fall from grace.

"I know." Damien took a deep breath as he tried to regain some composure.

"Just spit it out, Damien." Ian's tone came out slightly annoyed.

"Jas has been asking about you." Damien managed to say as he mentioned Ian's infamous ex.

"What about me? She knows I have a child with someone, she knows I have every intention of marrying this other person. Will she try to ruin what I have again?" Ian was not happy with Damien mentioning his ex.

"She's changed." Damien said in a sad tone. "She's different from before. I think you should speak with her, she said that she wanted to clear things with you. Things from the past that need to be said."

"I'm not going back to her, Damien. You know that I love Nicole and our children." Ian swiftly answered.

"She's not asking you to leave Nicole, just to mend our friendship. It hasn't exactly been fun without you around." Damien explained as he placed a hand on Ian's shoulder. "But I do understand if you don't want to talk to her. I just needed to pass on the message."

"Message passed, I won't speak to her now, but who knows, maybe someday." Ian promised as he got into his car and drove away.

He didn't even look back to observe his friend who simply frowned as his car disappeared as he exited the ancient gates of the old city.

He simply moved on and moved forward, ready to deal with the even larger, more important matter at hand, the Rajas.

It didn't take Ian long to get back to Mountain View, he was a fast driver, and even faster when he had a mission to accomplish.

As he stopped his car outside of the Security building, a driver took his keys to park his car.

He quickly marched into the interrogation room where everyone was still waiting for him, waiting to hear what his father had said.

"Henry wasn't ordered by our family, he simply assumed that were were a founding member of the Rajas." He announced, much to everyone's joy and relief.

But before his friends could celebrate, Ian lifted his hand to say something else.

"I think we should take advantage of this confusion." Ian announced.

"What are you trying to say? Don't do anything foolish." Nicole warned as she glared at him from the other end of the room.

"I know what you are thinking Ian, and that's too much." Cedric added. "They will know it's a trap from a mile away."

"Not if we have a very public fall out." Ian argued back.

"Wait, what is Ian planning?" Ray asked as he looked between the two men.

"Ian wants to try to join the Rajas as a spy!" Cedric declared, to everyone's shock. "Go on, deny that you were planning to suggest that!" He dared Ian who remained silent as he looked down at his feet, guilty as charged.
