90 Chapter 90

The last stop of their house tour was the master bedroom.

"How many kids do you expect us to have? Why are there so many rooms?" Adrianna asked as they walked into the master.

"I just wanted to be prepared. You can always transform them into a different purpose." Veronica shrugged.

"This is big!" Adrianna gasped.

"You like it?" Veronica asked.

"It's amazing Veronica!" Adrianna said as she looked around the room.

"Adri, come look at the closet. Cedric's side already has his clothes. All we need to do is buy new stuff for you to fill the closet." Ayanna said, showing Adrianna the walk in closet.

"This is even bigger than our room!" Adrianna said. "I don't think I have enough clothes to fill this room!"

"Well that's why Cedric gave us his card. We need to fill this room with proper brands!" Nicole said.

"Hey, my clothes are proper brands." Adrianna complained.

"They're from common brands." Nicole said, rolling her eyes.

"I already ordered some clothes from Milan, Paris, and New York." Ayanna said.

"But what about my clothes at the Hernandez house?" Adrianna asked.

"You're the wife of the Reyes Heir, I'm sure we can find better than those." Nicole said.

The girls soon piled back into the convoy of cars. This time they decided to just ride a Lincoln Navigator that the Reyes family had purchased a while back.

"Ayanna, will you have the section closed again?" Nicole asked.

"I don't want to. We'd lose too much profits if we did. We have enough security to keep the crowds away." Ayanna said.

"Why did you have it closed last time?" Adrianna asked.

"Cause Cedric was being touchy about people harassing you." Veronica teased.

"Well he had a reason to be worried." Katerina explained.

"I'm curious about something." Adrianna managed to say.

"Go, ask." Katerina said with a smile.

"Why are you guys so obsessed with keeping a low profile?" Adrianna asked, recalling her conversation with Cedric on Kashmere.

"I think Veronica can answer that best." Ayanna smiled.

"The problem with being from families like ours is that people always want something, and sometimes they praise you just because of who your family is, rather than based on what skills you actually have. I think you understand this to an extent." Veronica explained.

"Yeah. I felt that way about my family trying to get me into a beneficial marriage." Adrianna nodded.

"With us, it's different. Back in Uni, I had classmates and teachers who knew who I was. I never hid the fact that my father was James Abad, or that my brother was Ramon Abad. People always tried to please me. They always tried to get on my better side. Those that didn't choose to suck up said bad things about me. They would often say I bought my way into the school, or that my work was done by a hired professional. I honestly just became sick of it." Veronica explained.

"The worst was when one of my best friends, or at least someone I thought was my best friend, decided that I was just an impostor. He told people that all my work was done by her and that I was just passing them off and to think I even helped that guy with most of the things he submitted in school." Veronica sighed.

"Some one really did that?" Adrianna asked.

"Yeah. That's why Veronica left the country. As a matter of fact that person is still quite popular and continues to pass of others work as his." Nicole injected.

"People said it was because she got pregnant or some other vile rumor." Katerina said bitterly.

"People can be very mean when you're born into families like ours too." Ayanna sighed.

"So I left. I went to Paris to study, I used my mother's maiden name. I went by Veronica Bernasconi. I never liked being called Anna anyway. I chose to pave my own path. It's true later on I had projects from our family friends or some artists under Lights Entertainment, but I really worked my way up. Up to this day my mentor doesn't know that I come from quite an influential family here." Veronica explained.

"But you still hide who you are now." Adrianna said.

"I don't see the point of using my family name and connections to get ahead in my career. I want my skills to speak for itself. I love my family, and I'm thankful for the opportunities I got because of the family I was born into. I also don't want to feel like I owe people for who I am. I'm me and my skills are my own." Veronica explained.

"I think Nicole is actually the most low profile among us." Ayanna said.

"Oh, look, we're here!" Nicole said excitedly as they pulled into the driveway.

A group of guards immediately assembled to clear the way for them.

"Here we go again." Ayanna sighed and opened the door.

The girls went out of the car. Many socially conscious people recognized the girls and started pointing and whispering amongst themselves. Some took out their phones and stole photos of them.

"Is it always like this for you guys?" Adrianna asked.

"For Ayanna and Veronica, yes. For me, Katerina, and Natalia, not always. I can actually go to the mall with no visible guards. I'm not as public a figure as them. And if you aren't involved in business you wouldn't know who I was. It's worse when we're with the boys. Girls can get pretty crazy around them." Nicole explained as they casually walked into Pris Mall.

"Where is Natalia by the way?" Adrianna asked.

"Working. Her work is unique. We can't really talk about it." Ayanna explained.

"Let's go to the VIP section, the shops said they would just bring their latest products to us." Ayanna said, dragging the group to the top floor.

Inside there was a cream colored room with plush and luxurious seats. There were several dressing rooms with mirrors on all walls. The girls took a seat giggling.

They were given champagne, Ayanna told them to give Adrianna coffee instead of champagne. The first group of shop managers came in with some shoes for the girls to try on.

"I want a little niece or nephew!" Ayanna said quite seriously.

As they tried on shoes Adrianna recalled their conversation in the car.

"What did you mean when you said you were the most low profile Nicole?" Adrianna asked the girl next to her.
