Chapter 116

116 Chapter 115: Taking a disciple!

On a massive mountain peak, a youth with waist-long hair and deadly pale skin could be seen seated in silence as he cultivated. His eyes were tightly shut while his body surged with immense dangerous energy. Beneath the mountain were countless souls wailing and crying for help as they were being tortured by incredibly powerful beasts of the underworld but even then the youth wasn’t moved.

After what seemed like forever his eye slowly opened as he felt a powerful force behind him. Damon remained unmoving like an unshakable mountain and didn’t even bother to look back to see Demos who was standing behind him.

“It has been five years already and you have made a lot of progress. It’s sad you have to leave now” Demos said reluctantly as he gazed at Damon.

During his five years of cultivation in the underworld, Damon had completely changed and had become a full fledged death mage!

The host of the guardian spirit of death!

During this time he was made to accept the inheritance of the death mage and practice with it in order to grow stronger!

“Why do I have to leave now? Did something happen?” Damon asked with a clear and calm tone void of all emotions in this world.

His indifferent face was filled with maturity and the confidence of a peak expert. After cultivating the immortal body of the death mage, he has been granted a body similar to that of the undead. Physical wounds now meant nothing to him and all he needed to do is protect his head.

With that his hands regrown and his wounds completely healed. Unfortunately, his training did not improve his cultivation base one bit but even then Damon felt far more powerful than before.

.....

“I wish you could spend more time here and complete your training but something happened... it has to do with the cosmic spirits! Your friends are in danger!” Demos said and only then did Damon’s cold face reveal some reaction.

With a slight frown, he couldn’t help but look toward the guardian spirit of death but even then he did not stand. Cultivating the powers of death and gaining true inheritance had robbed him of most of his emotions. Right now he could barely differentiate between right and wrong, good or bad!

“Go straight to the point” Damon’s voice was far deeper than usual after these five years. One could regard him as a man now.

“Your existence is a thorn in the sides of the old gods and the cosmic spirits who leech off this world... The death magic is not something just anyone can deal with and they are hesitant to let you reach the spirit realm so they used that ritual to summon them... I don’t know how much longer your friends can hide with these three around!” Demos said which made Damon grimace.

“Be specific and accurate if you wish to help me” Damon said calmly.

“Don’t forget we have laws binding us... this is all I can do, from now on you will have to depend on yourself!” Demos said with a bitter smile but Damon simply nodded calmly.

His eyes lacked fear or anxiety that should be expected from anyone who is wanted dead by the entire world. He could tell Demos was anxious about sending him off to the world again but none of that mattered much now.

“You don’t have to worry, if it were in the past, you definitely had all right to be scared but now, no one in that world can kill me” Damon declared coldly but a hint of reluctance could be seen in his eyes.

When he came to the underworld he sort out his dead family but luckily they were not there according to Demos. They had reincarnated, so right now he felt slightly reluctant to murder humans as he didn’t want to accidentally harm his loved ones even though they won’t be able to remember him if they see him.

......................

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Countless explosions erupted as the space twisted and turned violently.

Boom!

Like a glass shattering a fist punched through it before gripping the space with both hands and ripping it open!

Thud!

Damon’s figure gracefully emerged and with a wave of his hand, the shattered space fixed itself. He was about to leave but he heard a scream causing him to raise his eyebrow in surprise!

Thud!

With a single step, Damon seemed to have crossed thousands of meters as he found himself at the entrance of a village set on fire. His eyes narrowed as he watched people run and flee while orcs chased them down, butchering them like animals.

If it were in the past, seeing humans getting killed like this would have been a very painful experience but Damon could barely feel a thing!

“Hmph! Sad!” Damon snorted disdainfully and turned to leave but someone held his leg, causing him to frown.

Damon looked down and saw a little boy barely up to fifteen with bright red hair and scarlet red eyes. A deep gash could be seen on his back as his blood formed a small pool around him but his eyes were one filled with hatred, resilience, and determination.

Seeing such a look, Damon couldn’t help but remember his final days in this world before he was forced to flee. He could remember the look but cause he too had that look on his face as he battled the experts of the world. But back then, he has no one to run to. No one was willing to save him.

“Please!” The words of that boy made his body shudder!

“Do you know what you ask for? Do you dare make a deal with the devil?” Damon’s eyes flashed brightly while gazing at the boy but even then the body wasn’t afraid. Instead, he tightened his grip on Damon’s feet and pulled himself closer.

“Take anything you want, my life, my soul! Just kill those bastards!” The boy cursed with all the strength his little body could muster, leaving Damon stunned.

“Good... good! A deal made with death cannot be broken! From henceforth, you will become my student! I will grant you the strength needed to kill these monsters. In exchange, you will serve me for eternity, even after your death!” Damon declared coldly as he grabbed the boy and carried him off the ground.

He could literally see the spirit of death hovering over the child, waiting for his soul to depart from the child’s body. Knowing this was just a small consciousness belonging to Demos which allows him to work at different places all at once so he didn’t bother with it.

Damon stretched his hand towards the burning village and a powerful suction erupted from him.

Pulling a soul from the countless ones belonging to the dead villagers, Damon gripped it casually with his hand and crushed it, destroying its consciousness before pushing it into the kid’s body!

Hmph!

Damon snorted as he felt the power of the soul spread across the kid’s body, allowing him to manipulate it perfectly within the child’s body. While he could not heal using normal means, he still has his way around these things!

...............

The cries and pain of people in the village filled the skies as Damon and the little boy walked in the opposite direction. With tears in his eyes, the boy followed Damon closely behind in silence. He didn’t even dare cry out loud.

The man ahead of him was deadly pale, with a face filled with cracks and blood-red eyes. Only after he was saved by Damon did he realize the person he was saved by was no normal human, neither was he a good person.

“That pain you feel... That hatred in your heart, do not forget it.... It will be your greatest source of strength in the future!” Damon said in a flat tone.

While he had nothing against the people of that small village, he also had no reason to save them. These were people who adamantly refused to fall under the reign of the Gyro Kingdom and in such a crazy world that could be considered the dumbest choice anyone can make.

In a world where the elves, dwarfs, and even orcs were against the human race, without sticking together death was inevitable. Even if he saves them today, they can always be attacked tomorrow or the day after.

While embarking on such a futile task?

The old Damon may have jumped in but not this Damon. This Damon wouldn’t mind watching the entire world crumble and burn to the ground.

“Master... teach me... I want to be strong like you!” Kadio said with fiery eyes burning with determination.

“Once we get to this place, I will teach you what true strength looks like” Damon answered dryly, not even bothering to spare the kid a glance.

Right now what he needed were a base of operation and an army. Something he can start with. The only place he can get all of these things is the central continent!

“I guess I will be paying the blood clan a visit first!” Damon said with a hint of killing intentions in his tone.
