Chapter 126

126 Chapter 125: Cultivation Defect

With that done, Damon called Blink over but the kid was reluctant to approach him. He could tell the kid was scared events of the past would repeat itself but Damon casually laughed it off in an attempt to make the kid feel at ease.

“Didn’t I win? Even a true God could not kill your master, who else is there for me to fear? Or do you lack faith in your old man?” Damon said the last part with knitted eyebrows.

Hearing that part, Blink swallowed a ball of saliva and hesitantly approached Damon. Upon arrival, Damon placed his hand on Blink’s forehead again and another one on his before pouring his energy into the kid.

He allowed his energy to flow through Blink’s energy circuits but after a short while, Damon frowned deeply.

A cultivation defect!

“Just as I feared, nothing good comes from a deity trying to manifest itself in the body of a mortal... The best form of relationship between a deity and a mortal was that of a guardian spirit and a host. They leave their soul imprint on the soul of the host, allowing the host to directly draw power from the deity. The amount of power one can draw determines on how powerful his body is and how much power of the deity one can endure. Meanwhile, God’s descent was simply a deity trying to force himself into the mortal realm through the body of a mortal. If Blink was older and had more talent or potential, the attack from the cosmic spirit of space would have been far deadlier! Damon probably wouldn’t have been able to resist.

But in return, the host is crushed by the immense power and divinity of the deity, leading to their death just shortly after possession.

In reality, none of the two methods were truly ideal. Even though the relationship between a guardian spirit and host may seem pure but it wasn’t as good as it looked.

The hosts of these cosmic spirits are doomed to die at the hands of their masters. They are unable to reach the god realm because they can never be as strong as their masters. And once they reach a level where they may be able to threaten the cosmic spirits, they are quickly eliminated by their masters, and the power accumulated due to years of cultivation is stolen from them by these cosmic spirits who use it to deal boost their strength!

.....

Such a relationship never ends well!

On the outside, these cosmic spirit hosts may look confident and overbearing but deep down they all carry the fear which they can never get rid of all their life. Most just submit and accept their fate while a few try to go against fate but in the end, they cannot fight the source of their power.

It always ends the same way.

“What’s wrong?” Blink noticed the change in Damon’s mood and he instantly felt anxious.

Huff!

Damon let go of the kid and with a flick of his finger, a bone stool appeared beneath the boy, allowing him to sit while Damon began explaining.

“The power of the deity that inhabited your body is far stronger than your body could handle. If I didn’t expel him as fast as I did, you would be dead already. Fortunately, it didn’t get to that... but...” Damon said with a slight frown.

“But your magic circuits were damaged and some major points were burst open. It will be difficult for you to accumulate much power in one go, if not impossible...” Damon said with a grim expression on his face.

“What does that mean?” Blink asked with a raised eyebrow. He couldn’t understand a thing Damon was saying

“It means you may never be able to cast advanced spells or attacks... Any advanced spell that requires you to cast would take at least thrice as long as usual plus there is also a high risk of failure” Damon explained further but this time he tried to avoid eye contact with the kid.

He didn’t know why he had a soft side for this kid, especially since he naturally shouldn’t care about anything else. Was it because this kid reminded him of himself when he was younger?

“Can you fix it? My master is the strongest right? You can do anything, right?” Blink began to panic and he quickly held Damon’s hands with a terrified look on his face

How can he possibly be a mage without casting advanced spells?

He would be completely useless!

Hearing his words, Damon felt heartbroken because he sincerely didn’t know how to fix this. At least this is beyond his abilities. Unless he pulled out Blink’s soul and pushed it into a new body, his defect would always remain. Outside that, the werewolf ability won’t be able to fix this defect! Only the immortal body can heal such a serious wound and it was limited to the death mage alone.

When Damon was about to give up hope and give out a negative answer he suddenly remembered something and his eyes lit up. A smile bloomed on his face and he turned his attention to Blink with a sweet smile.

“Of course, your master is the most powerful being on the planet but there are some things he can’t do, but you don’t have to worry. The host of the guardian spirit of life is my friend, I was told, they can even revive the dead when they reach their peak! He is currently held in the gyro kingdom and his cultivation level is probably still low to fix this defect but once we rescue him and help him reach the spirit realm, I am sure he should be able to save you!” Damon laughed

Hearing this, the fear in Blink’s eyes vanished and a bright smile bloomed on his face. The kid dived forward and hugged Damon tightly.

” Right now, you don’t have to worry about the defect... I will grant you the curse of the werewolf and I will teach you how to fight with what you have already. Even without getting healed, no one on your level will be able to take five moves from you!” Damon said with sharp eyes.
