After that session of explanations, we kept walking until we reached our houses, as for the goodbyes for being the last day of school...they were not necessary.
We were neighbors after all.
"Well then, see you tomorrow guys, oh and thanks for the sweet James~" Sarah said from her front door as she said goodbye to us.
Her house was quite large, it had 2 floors and had a british style, red brick walls along with white decorations that went well with the overall design of the house, it was also surrounded by a small fence, even though it looked a bit old, it didn't take away from the fact that it was a luxurious house.
"Bye~"
"You're welcome and see you tomorrow too, Sarah."
After we said goodbye to Sarah, she went inside her house and we kept walking...although only a little more, my house was next door after all.
Unlike Sarah's house, mine on the other hand was quite normal, it was also two-story, white walls, had red roof tiles and some plants outside for decoration, oh I also have a garage...although I don't have a car or anything like that...

After we said goodbye, I went inside my house, as for James...he still had to walk some more to get to his house.
Not that it was far away or anything, in fact it was right next to mine, or rather, the yard of his house was right next to mine, his house was so stupidly big that only the yard was the size of several houses placed side by side.
Anyway, after entering my house, I took off my shoes and went through the entrance, which only consisted of the entrance to the garage and a coat rack to leave coats, jackets, etc...although I don't use it much either.
Passing the entrance was the living room, a fairly average room, a few armchairs, a TV, a centerpiece and a sliding door that led to the backyard.
Because I liked the concept of open space, this floor was shared by the kitchen and the living room.
On the left was the staircase to the second floor which is where my bedroom, the bathroom and the room where I did all my laundry were.
After drinking a bottle of water from the refrigerator I went upstairs to my room to rest a bit.
"I'm a bit tired even though I haven't done anything...weird."
Once in my room, I jumped on my bed still with my uniform on.
Now then....
"Open." I said, lying on my bed.
Then, a transparent interface containing some words appeared in front of me.

That's right...I'm an esper too.
Well, although I say that, I'm not really sure if this is an esper skill or not because I haven't heard of any similar skill.
But since they have the most diversity of the three classes, I figured I would have to be an esper.
As for how I got it...it came naturally about 3 weeks ago or so...
I remember it was a normal day, I went to class, hung out with James and Sarah, we went out to eat something, then I came home, did my homework and finally fell asleep, the same routine I had been following all these years.
However, the weird things started from there, specifically with what I dreamt about that night.
I remember being in a totally dark space, where all I could hear was my breathing...I was in the middle...of nothingness.
Everywhere I looked, all I saw was darkness, adding that to the feeling of being suspended in the air...ugh, it wasn't pleasant at all.
At that moment I just thought that it was a weird dream but...right when that idea passed my mind, I heard a voice...
"Jay..."
It was a deep voice that was heard very close, so close that it resonated throughout my entire body, as if it came from inside me.
I looked around for the person who said that...and that's when I saw "it".
In the midst of all that darkness...a pair of little red eyes were watching me.
"Come..."
For some reason, his voice sounded very sweet and convincing to my ears...so of course I approached.
I admit that it wasn't a very smart decision, but it was a dream, I wasn't at my best.
The closer I got, the more clearly I could see the silhouette of the "person" to whom those red eyes belonged.
Finally, when I was a few meters away from him, I could see it...it was a small golden worm the size of a thumb, it had very sharp teeth which together with its eyes made it look quite dangerous....although...I couldn't feel any danger from it.
After I got close enough to the worm, my first reaction was, for some reason...to touch it.
The worm just stood still as my hand came closer and closer to it, his eyes following my hand.
I closed my eyes when my hand finally touched it because the worm suddenly moved, and by the time I opened them...the worm was nowhere to be found, so I was left alone once again in that dark space.
"Argh!"
Suddenly I felt a great pain in my right arm so I pressed it with my other arm in an attempt to relieve the pain.
Unfortunately it didn't help much and the pain just kept getting worse and worse until it became unbearable...
Just when I was about to pass out from the pain, I heard the voice again...
"Say it..."
"What? Argh! What do you mean...?!"
I didn't know why It was saying that so I just kept holding my arm, it was a really confusing and painful moment.
"Open..."
"Open what?!"
The voice didn't answer me and just kept saying that, so I, without much else to do in that situation...did as the voice told me.
"Open!"
Suddenly, a transparent interface filled with words appeared in front of me.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see more of those messages... I fainted from the pain after all.
By the time I woke up, my arm still hurt, which made me think that maybe it wasn't just a dream.
So, hoping that it wasn't just a dream, I repeated the same thing I did there.
"Open..."
Unexpectedly, it worked, although the message that appeared before me was different from the one that I saw in my dream.

I didn't sleep or go to school that day because of the excitement, instead, I spent all day researching the functions of this so called "Parasyte System".
What I discovered was that "Status" showed the physical state of my body in grades.
The initial state of my body was like this:

I was surprised that my physical condition was displayed in this way, and I felt a little embarrased, my stats were horrible.
Although there were different ways to classify the supers from the different classes, the best known way was by means of letters, ranging from the (F-) rank to the legendary (S) rank.
(E-) rank meant that I was in worst shape than most of my classmates and I'm sure that there were even some kids stronger than me...damn.
The reason why my physical condition was so deplorable was because I didn't really exercise at all, I preferred to spend my time doing other things like studying, reading or something like that.
So of course, I decided to increase my stats, exercising like never before.
It took me about a week and a half to increase my strength stat, and I did feel that I had become stronger than before.
As for agility and endurance, I trained them but I couldn't increase their rank for some reason.
Another thing that I noticed was that I felt that the energy I possessed had increased, specifically, the speed at which I recovered, for example, if I spent 3 hours exercising, I only needed half an hour to exercise another 3, and the same was true for other aspects of my daily life, such as sleeping.
Although the amount of food I needed also increased a lot compared to before.
Still, it was a good thing that I could get stronger quickly.
Then, with that covered, the next thing I researched was the "Hosts" option.
Initially it showed this:

That part interested me even more, it was telling me that I could have "hosts", and the system even gave me 10 parasites as a gift!
I started wondering what exactly could I do with the hosts...
But no matter how much I thought about it, the only thing that came to my mind was that I had to test it in order to discover more, I just hoped that I wouldn't have to devour someone or something like that.
As for the part about having to infect someone else, I didn't know how to do it or who to do it to.
So, I put it aside at that moment because of my lack of knowledge and a suitable host candidate...
Luckily I still could experiment with the last part of the "Hosts" option, the so called "parasites".
The first thing that came to my mind was to say "out"...
But it didn't work.
After that I tried several more things, like doing weird poses, trying to throw something out of my mouth, putting my hands together, shooting with my fingers...but nothing.
Finally, I decided to try something simpler...and less silly than the above.
I sat cross-legged on my bed and focused on my body, trying to feel where the parasites might be.
Fortunately, I was able to discover why it hadn't worked for me before...
I had tried to get them out of my stomach, mouth, chest or fingers before...but they weren't there...
They were in my right arm...the same arm that I touched the worm in my dream with...
