CH 59

Red Cotton Peak.

Named after the red cotton flowers that bloom on its summit all year round.

There is an open space on this peak that used to be an altar, but was later abandoned. On both sides are deserted buildings and the road is clean and tidy. Later, Shu Mountain disciples set up stalls here, which gradually developed into a small grocery market called Red Cotton Market.

Compared to the expensive and fixed goods sold at the sect's entrance, the items sold at Red Cotton Market are all set up by disciples themselves and are relatively more diverse and have more room for negotiation. It is possible to be deceived, but it is also possible to find bargains. Many Shu Mountain disciples like to come here even if they don't buy anything.

However, Chu Liang is here for the first time.

As soon as he entered the small market, he saw large and small blankets laid out on both sides of the road, with various items for sale on them, including elixirs, magic weapons, and talismans drawn by the sellers themselves. The quality of the items varied and were not as guaranteed as those sold at the sect's entrance.

There were also people selling spiritual pets, which could not be bought at the sect's entrance. Some people were selling several spiritual dogs there, black, white, and spotted little puppies, which were cute and cuddly.

Whenever someone inquired, the stall owner would perform the talents of the spiritual dogs. As long as they took out something to eat and let the dogs smell it, they could find you no matter where you were hiding within a hundred miles. As the spiritual dogs grew up, their tracking range could even extend to a thousand miles in the future.

If someone wanted to try other items, the stall owner would wave his hand repeatedly, "If it's not something to eat, it's not effective. It's not that they can't find it, it's that they're not interested in finding it."

There was also a stall with a magical mirror, which could reflect the face of the person in front of it as long as they recited the spell, "Mirror, mirror, tell me who is the most beautiful person in the world." When someone asked, "But can't all mirrors reflect faces?" The stall owner nodded and said, "The magical thing about this artifact is that if you don't ask, it won't reflect."

There was also a stall selling a broken bowl called the "Scattered Treasures Bowl." Whatever treasure was placed in it with spirituality would immediately disappear. Someone tried throwing a stone into it, but there was no response for a while. Then they threw a sword coin in and it disappeared immediately. The busybody shouted in amazement, and then asked the stall owner to return the sword coin. The stall owner shrugged and said he didn't know where it went.

There are conflicts happening here every day, and disciples from the law enforcement hall have been stationed here for a long time.

...

Chu Liang looked around, but didn't see anything he wanted to buy. Of course... he didn't have any money to buy anything even if he did. He then found an empty space and took out a blanket he brought with him. He placed a small tea tray on it and six small tea cups, and next to it stood a jar of sweet and delicious honey tea. He then erected a stand with two lines of large characters: "The first cup of fruit tea in the spring." "Taste it."

The strange things sold in Red Cotton Market were never in short supply. Although his stall looked unique, it didn't seem very special. However, there were many curious people here. After waiting for a while, a few people came up to inquire.

"Brother, what are you selling?" A young disciple asked curiously.

"Fruit tea." Chu Liang pointed to the jar of honey tea.

"Tea? Does your tea have any special effects?" The young disciple asked again.

"It tastes good." Chu Liang smiled.

"Huh?" The person seemed to be stunned, "That's it?"

"It tastes good and won't make you fat." Chu Liang added."..." The person seemed to find it a bit strange.

"You can try it." Chu Liang poured him a small cup of tea and gestured with his hand.

Cultivators naturally didn't need to pick up the teacup. The disciple didn't stand on ceremony either. He gently opened his mouth and sucked in a stream of liquid. After smacking his lips, his eyes lit up.

"Hmm, it really tastes quite good." He immediately asked, "How much is it?"

"One sword coin per jar." Chu Liang pointed to the honey tea jar next to him, "Such a big jar."

"What? One sword coin?" The disciple had an expression like he had seen a ghost, "One sword coin for a jar of sugar water? You might as well rob."

"Ah..." Chu Liang shook his head with a smile, not bothering to argue with him.

The young disciple glanced at him as if he were a lunatic before turning around and cursing as he walked away.

The same thing happened with two or three other people, all with similar reactions.

It wasn't surprising that they were shocked. Sword coins were quite precious within the Shu Mountain Sect. As mentioned earlier, even if a disciple at the Divine Intent realm completed tasks frequently, they would only earn around a hundred sword coins per month, perhaps even less.

Golden Elixir realm disciples earned slightly more, but it was still quite limited.

Usually, they would still find it insufficient to buy their own elixirs, talismans, magical instruments, flying swords... and various other items.

Spending a sword coin on a drink that had no significant effects other than tasting good was indeed a bit extravagant.

However, Chu Liang wasn't in a hurry, just sitting quietly.

After a while, there was suddenly a commotion in front of him. The noise grew louder and louder, gradually spreading over.

"Jiang Fairy is here!"

It wasn't until the shout came that people knew what was happening, and they immediately craned their necks to see.

Indeed.

It was as if the stars were surrounding the moon, with someone slowly walking towards them.

Jiang Yuebai!

The arrival of this person caused the Red Cotton Market to suddenly boil.

People like Fairy Jiang rarely came here because she definitely wouldn't lack cultivation resources and wouldn't need to come here for shopping. Moreover, coming to such a crowded place would certainly attract attention, so she would usually avoid it on purpose.

But for some reason, Jiang Yuebai had come to the Red Cotton Market today. And from the looks of it, she didn't seem to have any specific goal, just casually strolling around, walking from the east side to the west side.

She was wearing a long dress, elegant and graceful, as if she was stepping on lotus flowers with every step.

A group of Shu Mountain disciples from all directions followed her from a distance, all with admiring, respectful, and curious gazes.

However, none of them dared to approach and strike up a conversation.

Jiang Yuebai's gaze wandered around, and suddenly, it seemed to stop at Chu Liang.

Chu Liang and she exchanged glances.

Then.

A faint smile appeared on her cold face.

There was a sudden burst of low growls around Chu Liang.

"Brothers... she's smiling at me!"

"Nonsense! Fairy Jiang is clearly smiling at me!"

"Get lost, you guys. Three-quarters of her gaze is on me."

"..."

Amidst a mess of voices, Jiang Yuebai walked to Chu Liang's stall, bent down slightly, and asked, "What is this?"

"Fruit tea." Chu Liang replied calmly.

"I can try it? Then let me have a taste." Jiang Yuebai blinked.

Chu Liang poured her a cup of tea, and Jiang Yuebai sipped it. She immediately smiled and nodded gently, "Mmm! It tastes good."

"Would Senior Sister Jiang like a jar?" Chu Liang asked.

"Give me one jar... no, two jars." Jiang Yuebai replied.

"Alright." Chu Liang smiled and nodded, then said in a gentle but loud voice:

"Half price for the second jar."
