CH 13

“Urgh.”

Yul covered his mouth and gagged. Then he raised his fingerless cotton ball hand and started counting, ‘One day, two days, three days…’

The journey did not end there. After counting, he placed his hand on his tummy full of cotton and stopped with a serious expression on his face. This was at breakfast.

Putting all of this together, Yul’s current appearance was like a typical scene in a drama where the protagonist reveals she was pregnant.

Even though he had never seen a TV drama, Mikael looked at Yul with a surprised look at the strangeness he felt instinctively.

“… What’s going on?”

At Mikael’s question, Yul hesitated for a long time. Mikael’s doubts grew increasingly. Of course, there was also a strange atmosphere surrounding the two of them.

He never made a doll pregnant, and no, he didn’t even take the preceding steps to make anyone pregnant in the first place. He had never even held his hand, and realistically, that would not have been possible.

What was he doing with that palm-sized doll in the first place?

Mikael tried to cut the buds of unsettling possibilities that kept popping up in his head.

At the same time, he was nervous about what the doll couldn’t do when he could even talk, move, and even eat.

“Uh… Mikael. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying.”

“… I’ll try.”

To Yul’s words, Mikael swallowed dryly and struggled to answer. He hoped it wasn not the worst-case scenario he could imagine.

“Food, I want to eat food, Mikael.”

Early in the morning, those words came from the breakfast table of the aristocratic family. It was also from the most prestigious aristocratic family in the empire called the Archduke Orlov.

While he was relieved it was not the thing he was worried about, Mikael narrowed his eyebrows at the first complaint about food he had ever heard. Towards the pink-haired cotton doll who talked nonsense.

“Food, food please… I want to eat kimchi stew. No, just kimchi is fine. You don’t even have to get the stew. No, ramen, kimchi in ramen! Uh, kimchi ramen topped with egg! Aaahhh, I want to eat spicy food! Red stuff! Not ketchup!”

Yul threw away a teaspoon and cried out for Korean food. It had been more than ten days since he came to this world. Excluding the tragic period of starvation, he ate only Western food for a whopping 20 meals.

In keeping with the reputation of the Archduke Orlov, the food served on the table at every meal was a supreme feast.

Cream soup, vegetable soup, chicken soup, cheese broccoli soup, mushroom soup, clams soup, etc. The type of soup changed for each meal.

Even speaking about it now, Yul felt like the cream soup would come up his throat. He never knew that there were so many different types of soup.

That was not all, the salads were also varied. Not only the toppings and dressings on the salad change every day, but also the vegetables, which were the main ingredients of the salad, also changed.

So was the freshly baked bread that came with the meal. Sometimes it was a flat and chewy bread, sometimes it was a warm bread that rose like bread before cutting, and sometimes it was a hard, long bread like a baguette.

The main dishes were also great. Basically, beefsteak was served at almost every meal. In addition to that, tomahawk, which he had only seen from a livestreamer eating it on the mukbang show, and on another day, a fish the size of Mikael’s forearm was grilled.

From familiar ingredients such as chicken, goose, lamb, and lobster to those he had only heard the names of, a wide variety of luxurious dishes appeared on the table every day.

At first, of course, he was overjoyed. After coming to the Archduke’s residence and starving for a few days, he was able to eat anything.

After that, for the next few days, he had rather pleasant meals. He was happy with the luxurious food he tried for the first time. A napkin the size of a palm was wrapped around like a bib, and he ate his food frantically.

Of course, there were days when food got on his lips while eating like that, and when that happened, Mikael wiped Yul’s lips with a napkin moistened with water with a deep sigh.

Thanks to him, he felt a little conscious, but they were pleasant meals in their own way.

However, as time passed, he started to feel nauseous just looking at the food.

He wanted to eat Korean food instead of foods full of the flavour of dairy products such as butter and milk. He started to miss the triangular kimbap and cup noodles that he ate every day in the lab.

On the table were cereals and salads, baked bread and bacon, fried eggs with a firm yolk, soups and oatmeal, as well as a variety of unknown Western menus.

Just by looking at it, he tried to calm his stomach and forcibly scooped out a little pumpkin soup with a teaspoon, but he immediately felt nauseous.

He couldn’t possibly do this. He felt queasy to death. In the end, Yul reached his limits and whined pettily.

Seeing this, Mikael was bewildered. He didn’t understand what the hell kimchi was and what ramen was.

It was the first time he had seen anyone throwing their tableware while eating with him of all people. Well, to be honest, the person in question wasn’t human.

Since Yul’s existence could not be found out by the servants of the Archduke’s residence, he deliberately said that he would eat in his own room instead of the dining room. He felt sorry that he starved him for a few days after he brought him to the palace unintentionally, so he took great care of him in his own way.

“It’s very convenient to be a doll.”

When Yul asked for food, a strange answer was returned. Yul tilted his head and thought, ‘What’s that guy talking about?’ Of course, he didn’t do anything stupid and say it out loud.

“Even if you cut off a limb, you can sew it again.”

“Gasp…”

Yul, shocked by Mikael’s words, covered his mouth with both his little hands.

Of course, in theory, it was a doll’s body, so if you sewed it, it would have been attached again. However, when he fell from a high place, it hurt a little bit, and if his limbs were cut off, he would feel pain as well.

Mikael could not be unaware of this fact, but he was so casually saying terrible things.

As expected, this guy was crazy. Maniac, crazy gong1!

Yul’s small body trembled in fear. Mikael just stared at him with cold red eyes. As if the image of himself in the red eyes was soaked in blood, Yul swallowed dryly in fear.

“Even with this knife, that little body will be cut through.”

As if he was about to cut off Yul’s limbs, Mikael took the bread knife and turned it lightly with his finger.

Seeing the swift, skillful blade moving, Yul decided to quell his anger before the blade reached him.

Yul carefully opened his mouth.

“I- I’ll eat quietly.”

“Good idea.”

“Yes.”

Yul continued eating quietly without any further complaints. He cut the bread as small as his little fingernails and ate the lettuce of the salad the size of a pea. He ate about a quarter of a teaspoon of soup.

“… I ate well.”

Yul, who barely tasted the food, quickly finished the meal.

Mikael quietly looked at the traces of Yul’s eating.

Even though the bread was cut as small as possible, the size of his little fingernails, it was hard to tell what he had eaten.

The amount of food he ate was absurdly small compared to his appetite, which usually made his eyes lit up when he looked at food, but today it was particularly bad.

Well, come to think of it, the past few days, even when it was meal time, it seemed that he did not show the same sign of joy as before.

“Did you finish eating?”

“Yep. I ate a lot. I ate this much salad and ate this much soup. I also ate this much bread.”

As if to prove what he was saying, Yul said, pointing to each food he ate with his hand. But still, Mikael’s eyes did not even glance what he had eaten.

“…Yes, that’s good.”

But he decided to back down for now. If he questioned further here, the guy might cry out loud drenching the cloth.

At Mikael’s answer, Yul sighed in relief. He lived. He was able to endure a little longer with his limbs intact. But he didn’t know when or at what point that the man would turn crazy properly, so he would have to prepare to escape.

Yul was relieved by his words, but made up his mind to run away from that dangerous fellow.
