Volume 2 - CH 2

“Erotic?”

“Huh?”

“Just now, “That’s a very erotic thing to do?” did you not say that just now?”

“No, I did not say that-”

“Eroticism is filthy. It’s dirty, it’s filthy… and unholy!”

What is happening here?

The angelic-faced sister changed her face into a devil’s….

“Castration! All the men need to be castrated for good!”

“Wait, wait, wait. What are you doing?!”

When I shouted that, the sister pointed a pair of scissors, of which I have no idea where she pulled it out, at my groin and attacked me very low.

“Put that down! That’s dangerous!”

Thankfully, I grabbed the sister’s arm in the nick of time.

But my ribs hurt so bad I felt like I was going to lose.

“Castrate, mutilate, castrate, castrate!”

So scary, this woman.

“Sister, calm down. The children are watching you.”

About half of the boys and girls in the choir were still there.

If the always gentle Sister had turned into such an evil demon, I’m sure they would be traumatically horrified――.

“Look. Sister is acting up again.”

“That’s not good! Come on, guys, let’s stop her.”

――or not.

“Sister.”

“Sister, stop.”

Bravely, the children rush up behind the rampaging Sister and grabbed her.

“Hey, you all, that’s dangerous!”

I admire their guts, but I can’t have a child stop a rampaging adult with a sharp object.

“We’ll be fine. This happens all the time.”

So say the children in short pants, suspenders, and berets with cheeks as soft as sponge cakes. If you ar e abl e to re ad this me ssage, yo u are r eadi ng fr om an una uthori zed ag gregat e sit e. “After all, Sister is very religious, so she is very strict about talks that are related to sex.”

No, I don’t think this is on the level of being “very strict” anymore.

I mean, come on, she wasn’t even hearing the right words!

“She’ll be back, don’t worry. Sister, Sister. Look over there. It’s Our Lady.”

The children pointed to the statue of what seemed to be the Holy Mother at the front of the cathedral.

With that, Sister’s expression gradually melted away.

“Haa, haa, haa, ah. Oh, my God, what have I done? Did I do something wrong? I don’t remember.”

Is her memory gone? What a crazy woman, this sister.

“No, it’s nothing much… By the way, does Sister adore the Holy Mother?”

When I asked her that, her eyes lit up.

“Yes! The Holy Mother is my ideal. She was conceived as a virgin and was truly chosen by God. Her divine appearance always calms my heart.”

I suddenly craved the urge to say, “You can’t have a baby as a virgin” here, but I didn’t because that would get me killed.

“I-I see. I never thought the image Holy Mother has such healing powers….”

“Creepy powers?”

Oh, come on. This sister… does she have the ability to hear only what she wants to hear?

“Sister….”

“Sister, stop.”

Seriously, though. You, kids, are doing God’s work.

When the kids brought the sister back to her senses for the second time, I knew I shouldn’t stay in that place much longer.

But there is one last question I really want to ask before I leave.

“Hey, Sister, what do you think of that priestess?”

“Hmmm, she is a bit odd in some ways, but I think she is a wonderful person, serious, kind, and above all, chaste.”

The sister smiled softly as she said that.

“I see. Well, I’m leaving then.”

With that, I left the cathedral with a feeling of sympathy for the priestess.

After leaving the cathedral, I went to the embassy of my home country.

A fellow traveler is an irreplaceable treasure.

They say that time and tide wait for no man, but the nostalgia for one’s homeland that resides in one’s heart does not fade away, no matter how many years pass.

The embassy of my homeland is located behind the government office district, and it was grandly built to show off the country’s power.

This is a very important thing, as it lets the Andersen people know that if war breaks out with a country that builds such a magnificent embassy, it will be a disaster.

Yes. Its purpose is to bluff.

However, for me, this is something negligible.

Or more like I’ve already gotten used to it? After all, the first thing I do whenever I visit another country is visiting the embassy.

So to sum it up, this scenery is already a routine for me. Hence I no longer appreciate it as much and just go straight to my business.

“Hmm… I don’t see anyone I know.”

I muttered to myself as I looked at the list of people in my hometown that are currently staying in Andersen.

“How many of us are currently in Andersen’s castle town?”

I asked the clerk and was told that we have about 2,000 people here.

I have checked the names of 1,500 people so far, so there are about 500 more to go.

But I’m not that downhearted with this. After all, you’re already very lucky enough if you find a hometown acquaintance on your travels.

As I was about halfway through the last list, I found a familiar name on the last page.

It was my senior’s name….

Three blocks down from my place of origin, a wholesale store, there was this very prosperous coffee shop.

The only daughter there had always helped at the shop since she was a child and was known around town as the “little signboard girl”.

She was a serious and firm girl who would stop the neighborhood children when they were fighting.

I remember her glossy black hair, intelligent, slitted eyes, gorgeous gestures, and dignified atmosphere. This chap ter tran sla tion is ma de pos sib le by st abbi ng with a syr in ge tran slati ons. Check o nly up-to-dat e trans lati ons on my Wo rdpres s s ite.

I often went to visit her at the coffee shop.

It was partly because my house was in the neighborhood, but it was also because my parents had a close relationship with hers.

I was a stubborn child, so I always put on the air of a smart-ass, but even though she was only two years older than me, she seemed very mature to me at the time, so in truth, I was always nervous around her.

In my home country, we would enter secondary school at about the age of 12 or 13, and I think it was around the time she entered secondary school that the distance between us began to grow.

I started calling her ”seniorsenpai“ instead of her name, and we stopped going to her house to hang out.

After that, the time came when I had to leave for a trip as a traveling merchant, so in the end, I had to say goodbye to her.

“I guess she was my first love, come to think of it.”

I was now in front of the coffee shop that my senior had opened on the outskirts of Andersen.

It seemed to be the type that hung fabric dividers in the doorways.

Overall, it is a pretty good-looking place.

However, even though I had come all this way, I wasn’t able to enter.

There was a sign that said, “Closed Today.”

“What, closed today?”

Anyway, I just came to see my senior, so I thought it would be okay to just visit the shop as usual, even if it is not open.

So I used Transparens to see if my senior was inside.

Transparens is an advanced spell that allows the inside of a building to be seen through, and for some reason, I have always been able to use this spell perfectly.

As soon as the magic was activated, I could see the fluttering lace curtains and the space that had been well-planned to be divided into tables and counters.

And she was there, in the back, in the clean kitchen.

I cannot be mistaken.

That was my senior.

As well as my first love.
