Chapter 34 New Hope

"I wish this system were more cooperative." He heaved a long sigh of disappointment.

first I've to get out of here so I can fulfil my plan, but how do I do that, and what did the system mean by the gem?

[Stop talking to yourself and get some rest]

The system reappeared without being called.

"Who asked you to come back? Aren't you busy?"

[Sleep]

It spoke again.

"What do you care?" These were the last words to come out of Lucas' mouth.

He fell to his knees and sank to the floor, falling asleep.

[Finally.]

[Goodbye]

"Are you still asleep?" Someone scratched at the iron bars with a piece of metal. "Wake up, we've a gem, we've to move on." The man's voice spoke again.

"What's going on?" Lucas yawned and rubbed his eyes, "where am I?" He yawned again with fatigue.

"Get up, we've to go." That voice told him to hurry.

"Who - who're you?" He turned and leaned over to see who was talking to him. "Oh, it's you, Brad Pitt." Lucas grimaced.

"Brad Pitt?" Haya backed away a little, "who the hell is Brad Pitt?"

"Oh, you wouldn't know, he's like a celebrity." Lucas squinted his eyes.

"Okay, get up, we've to go now," Haya spoke in a low voice.

"Go where?" Lucas pushed his shoulders forward, 'Ouch, my back.' He muttered.

"I stole the gem, we've to go now." Haya's words were crisp and clear.

Lucas stood up and straightened his back, then looked at the bed, which looked very comfortable to him, 'why did I fall asleep on the floor?' He heaved a long sigh.

"Okay, put your shoes on, we don't have much time," Haya ordered him again.

"Okay, okay, don't stress me out." He shook his head as he tried to sit down on a bed.

His black leather shoes felt cold as he tried to put them on, "Okay, I'm ready," he said.

A small, fairy-like, green being appeared behind Haya and broke through the electric iron bars with a small thud,

* boom * * boom *

This sound was quite loud, "come on" Haya looked at Lucas with wide eyes.

This was too surprising for Lucas who'd just woken up from sleep. He was still trying to understand what was going on and how this little creature could break through these bars.

There were too many things he couldn't get it, but when he saw Haya's desperate look, he didn't want to waste any more time, because his goal was also to get out of there as quickly as possible, and Haya was doing him a favour.

He pushed his hands through the hole that fairy had just made and walked towards Haya, in a minute he was out of his cell and back in an old smelly place, "Yuck" He hid his nose with his hand.

"Alright, you're out."

"What now?" Lucas raised his voice.

"Spirit of the Earth, I need you to break through the ceiling," Haya spoke again to this small being.

It was a little confusing for Lucas, how could such a small being even break through the ceiling, it made no sense to him.

The small spirit began to fly upwards next to a high ceiling that was at least forty meters above them, and with a headbutt, she also broke through the ceiling,

* Boom * * Boom *

It made another noise and rocks began to fall to the ground, "Watch out!" Haya pushed Lucas aside to avoid being hit by one.

A bright purple sky lit up the whole dungeon, which looked like a prison.

A dragon head appeared, blocking the pink cloud view, "Kali? What's she doing up there?" Lucas pushed his head back.

"Come on, we'll get you out of here."

"Spirit of the wind, lift us up," Haya spoke softly.

Lucas realised that his feet were being lifted off the ground against his will, he was being pulled up to the ceiling. His body lost balance and he began to lean backwards and sideways, "you know flying is definitely not for you." Said Haya as he grabbed his arm to help him hold on better.

"I guess flying is not for me," Lucas agreed to his comment.

He felt a crazy surge of energy rise in his body as little bugs flew around in his stomach, making him giggle.

"This is actually fun," Lucas added.

Finally, they reached the roof. "Thank you, Spirit of the Wind." Haya spoke to someone invisible.

'If he was in our world, people would assume he was crazy.' Lucas directed his gaze to Kali, who was standing there, ready to go.

[System activated]

[The team is formed]

[Mission completed]

[Gem is recovered]

[Leave the city of the elves immediately]

[Goodbye]

The system announced its presence and disappeared again, leaving Lucas wondering what had just happened.

"What the hell?" He asked aloud.

Everything was even more suspicious. His hands started to sweat and his heartbeat increased again, 'what's happening, I am so confused.' Lucas talked to himself.

Xina came out from behind the dragon, holding a small bag, "Lucas, are you ready?" She asked him in a calm voice as she shook the dark, plain bag in her hands.

"Ready for what exactly?" He looked at Kali who was watching the whole situation.

"To escape from the city of elves and go on missions?"

Author Here:

Hello, I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Some people have contacted me and mentioned in the previous comments that this novel is too slow and they want action right away, let me tell you...

I'll give you your action scenes, but first I want to tell you that I am not just going to do info-dumb stuff because that would get boring. The story will pretty much develop from here on, its goals and intentions will be explained slowly and without haste.

If you have read so far I am happy and hope you will enjoy the next chapters, if you want to stop there is nothing I can do about it.

Thank You Very Much For Your Time. :>
