“Are you hiding something from me?” Bing Shi asked once she realised that now wasn’t the time to joke around. She stopped trying to crawl away from Lu Kai as she turned her head around to stare down the visibly upset man.

“Maybe,” he answered, biting her for the last time, “What if I loved something more than you? What if something like that appeared out of nowhere?”

Bing Shi looked strangely at the man who found a new hiding place: face down on her bum cheek. Because he used her bum like a pillow, she couldn’t see his expression but she could feel the way his eyebrows were furrowed together, “Then there would be no point in being together anymore. I don’t want you to be with me because of pity. You should follow the thing you love the most.”

‘That’s the fuckiest answer ever.’ Lu Kai buried his head deeper into Bing Shi’s skin, hoping he could nest there forever so he could avoid her gaze. He stroked her bitten bum cheek as a quiet apology for asking such a question and for pouring out his grievances onto her bum cheeks.

He spoke quietly while never stopping his gentle strokes, “I refuse to abandon you for someone else. Even if I had a soulmate. I want to love you the most...”

Bing Shi stopped staring at the strange Lu Kai and instead watched the TV with a blank numbness. After a period of silence, she raised a question, “Don’t you love Xue Bi the most?”

.....

Lu Kai paused in his apologetic strokes as he truthfully answered Bing Shi, “We were a great team. I admit I miss working with her a lot...”

He wanted Bing Shi to join Binifnity one day. But at the same time, he was afraid that she would regain her memories of his brother. In the end, he decided that it was better for his wife to stay away from his experiments.

“Xue Bi suits my- no, Lu Kai’s tastes more.” At this admission, Lu Kai returned to briefly bite at Bing Shi’s cheeks. He couldn’t help it; she was very chewable.

At her disgruntled groan, he stopped biting and carried on speaking, “But my feelings towards XueBi have cooled down. The same goes for all the people I fell in love with throughout my lifetimes. Bing Shi, don’t misunderstand- my feelings for you have never cooled down.”

In his mind, Lu Kai absently thought while gnawing at Bing Shi’s reddened butt cheek, ‘If anything, it seems as though my feelings burn hotter for every life I live...’

“Well, your feelings will cool down if someone you love more appears.” She shot back as she attempted to wriggle away again.

“You’re scaring me... Stop talking like that. Let’s hope nothing like that ever happens,” Bing Shi, sensing that something was wrong, said this to the absent-minded Lu Kai. She took his words seriously in her heart as she returned to watching the fantasy movie playing on the TV. It seemed to trigger her husband’s mood with how undecisive the female lead acted towards the two male lead’s approach.

“With how things are now, anything can happen. Maybe it’ll screw us up- Fuck me, I didn’t mean it like that.” Lu Kai cursed as he pulled his body upwards, smoothly slotting himself between her side and the couch’s back. He wrapped an arm around her body and hugged her tightly to his chest.

He muttered quietly in her ear, hoping that she would take what he would next say, seriously, “Bing Shi, rather than my feelings cooling down... it seems they only ever burn hotter for you.”

After declaring this, he rolled over, crushing her underneath his body. He didn’t mind her protests as he kissed her lightly on her forehead in a silent apology. He was stuck in his thoughts as Bing Shi gradually settled down and continued to watch the fantasy movie.

Why hasn’t Bing Shi become his soulmate yet? Maybe it was because he didn’t want to be her soulmate... He couldn’t imagine what effect she would have on him if they shared such an extraordinary bond. Would they perhaps be the perfect wife and husband? No, no, that seemed a bit extreme.

Maybe they would have mind-reading tactic abilities about each other? They wouldn’t have to say anything to know what the other wanted. As they were now, they were close to doing that... It was only when the differences between each other became apparent, that this unspoken tacticity with each other became a bit erm, dangerous.

‘I’m already such a fucking pervert. Being her soulmate would only fuck me up...more than it already does, anyways.’ But then, if he didn’t want to be her soulmate, why was he so worried about her soulmate? This was why: ‘Why the fuck is she still bonded to someone else?!’

Huffing in frustration, Lu Kai bit at Bing Shi’s ears to vent his inner turmoil. At this point, Bing Shi wondered why she had suddenly become a chew toy for this man.

When Bing Shi thought that Xuan Mu just switched into Ziek, she felt a black miasma filling up the whole room, so specific for Ru Quan. Lately, her husband suffered from serious mood swings. Like a roller coaster, from high to low, low to high, high to low.

This was the first time he kept an important secret away from her, and she didn’t like it at all. His secrecy poked at a part of her that she didn’t want to acknowledge. Bing Shi sighed as she told Lu Kai, “Sometimes, I wish we were simple mortals. We wouldn’t have to deal with all of these absurd things...”

Bing Shi rolled over under Lu Kai’s weight so that she could look into Lu Kai’s eyes, “Hubby, I want to know that secret. Will you tell me? Pretty please?”

“No, you’ll never know what it is,” Lu Kai bluntly told her as he squeezed her cheeks together. He watched her lips pucker like a fish and her eyebrows furrow with dissatisfaction from his response. “Bing Shi, a secret is supposed to be kept away from everything. If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore.”

Bing Shi observed his ocean blue eyes with a frown and noticed his nervousness, “Then, why did you tell me that you’re hiding something from me?”

“I don’t know,” he pursed his lips, copying her funny face, blinking at her innocently, “What I did to you was very selfish of me, but I don’t regret it.”

Wasn’t he doing it to make himself feel better? Bing Shi watched how the guilt was eating him from the inside, because he too, was not used to hiding things away from her, “Well, if you don’t want to share it with me, then you can keep suffering by yourself.”

“...” He opened his eyes wide, lifting his head at the ceiling in disbelief, “Is this my end? My wife stopped caring about me. Yeah, why should she? There is a line of handsome men trying to seize my spot...”

Bing Shi yanked his head down, closing his mouth with her lips impatiently. This silly man, what kind of game was he playing this time?

He tilted his head down to accommodate her impatient yanking. Their lips, wetted by a thin layer of saliva, connected with familiarity. His tongue parted her lips and, in doing so, made her huff when he played teasingly with her own tongue.

She pushed against him with a sigh and didn’t make a sound when he grazed his teeth against the smooth, cherry-flavoured surface of her lips. He sighed comfortably when the tip of his tongue intertwined with her tongue in an almost lewdly innocent fashion. If someone were to ever ask about his favourite place...

Inside of Bing Shi.

? Would be his immediate thought. ?

He was a pervert for both people, and it was not easy.

Turning her head to the side, Bing Shi watched the TV, letting him nibble on her ear, “Hubby, XiaoPu told me to self-study this movie. I can’t focus since you’re being so distracting...”

“Me neither,” he said while turning her face away from the TV, “Let’s make it quick so we can both focus again.”

“Ngh,” Bing Shi felt his hot breath against her nape, and his palm squeezing her breasts. She swatted at his groping hands, but the swat had no real intent of pushing him away. “I feel angry...”

“We can change that. I’ll turn your anger into arousal,” his heart swelled when he saw her eyes welling up in tears.
