It was also as if she could interpret their silence when they stopped talking; she could hear everything they didn’t say in words and feel what they did: intensely.
Her eyelashes began to weigh more than they should, as if gravity had suddenly turned up tenfold. Whenever she stopped taking the pills, her senses would pop up and would keep thriving deeper and... stranger.
It was unbearable to stay in a crowded place for long.
