(Past) The Villainess’ Wish

“Rosemary. Say your greetings to the Prince.”

“My name is Rosemarie Hubert. Pleased to meet you….”

She greets him with the curtesy she has been taught many times.

The boy, slightly taller than her, looks at Rosemary disinterestedly.

“As your fiancée, I will continue to study hard to support the prince.”

“Thank you. Please be a support to Gray, Little Princess.”

“Yes.”

Although Prince Gray was blunt and difficult to deal with, Rosemary liked his father, the King. Because she can feel the love that her father never showed.

She was eight years old when she first met her fiancé, who had been chosen for her shortly after her birth.

Most of her memories up to that point had been of being taught etiquette. She practiced writing letters with her little hands and learned foreign languages that differed from her own country.

She spent her spare time playing with Alberto, who was being raised with her as a squire, and with Reynaldo, who had joined her family along the way.

For Rosemary, who never had a chance to play, it was the only time she felt at peace.

Her mother’s health deteriorated after giving birth to Rosemary, and even more so after learning about Reynaldo.

Told to spend her time educating herself to become Queen, Rosemary could only see her mother at night to say goodnight.

Her mother was very weak.

She couldn’t bear the fact that she couldn’t earn Father’s affection and that he had a mistress.

She was not accustomed to the environment in which she would normally have to act as a marchioness and often fell ill.

Father was quick to abandon Mother, who was physically and emotionally weak, and often took Rosemary’s older brother with him to social gatherings.

Shortly after the arrival of Reynaldo, Rosemary’s mother passed away.

Rosemary quietly saw her mother off at the modest funeral.

She called Reynaldo over, who was watching her from afar, and hugged him.

“Don’t cry, Sister.”

Rosemary burst into tears as she was comforted by her young brother, who still needed to be protected.

Even though she didn’t have many memories of her mother, she was still Rosemary’s mother.

She did not want to be the prince’s fiancée.

She hated etiquette and studying.

What Rosemary wanted was a memory of a close-knit family like everyone else has.

‘If I were to be reborn next time, I want to be a normal girl….’

Inside the bars, crouching on the cold floor, Rosemary thought absentmindedly.

She was tired of playing the role of a fiancée and of being her father’s tool.

She wonders if she would be happy if she had the same status and money as other normal people.

She had always admired the parents and children she saw on the street, walking hand in hand.

The only warmth Rosemary knew was Reynaldo’s young hand.

‘I’d love to hold his big hand and have him gently stroke my head….’

Rosemary had no particular faith in anything, but she wanted to at least hope for that much.

At the same time, she wanted to be the one to give someone what they wanted.

Rosemary has never been in love with someone because of her formal engagement to Prince Gray.

She wants to be given a family, but she also wants to be on the receiving end of a family.

She wants to fall in love normally and marry the one she loves.

Just like in the picture stories.

In this day and age, marriages for love are rare. Even so, she wants to create a family that can care for each other with the person she marries.

Rosemary was just a little envious that Prince Gray had fallen in love with Tia.

She had no one of the opposite sex by her side to woo her.

She had no way of knowing that none of them were able to express their feelings, not because of her lack of charm, but because of her status as a fiancée.

She just wanted to earn someone’s affection and poured her love into them in return.

As a result, Rosemary is reborn in the form she desires.

She was able to have the family she wanted.

Whether she would have a normal love life and a picture-perfect family was another story.
