Chapter 121 Happy Olivia

When Liam asked Felicia whether he had to awaken his bloodlines separately or if the information about the Bloodline Awakening he paid for would awaken both of his bloodlines, he didn't expect to hear this answer.

"The Truth of Arcanium said that your Awakening is for your mixed bloodline as the Son of the H–..."

Before Felicia could say more, Liam interrupted her, just in time, "Okay, I get it."

Felicia smiled mischievously at Liam when she noticed that he was a little flustered. It looked like she had found out something quite interesting.

"Looks like I found out your secret~" She teased with a glint in her eyes.

Liam only shook his head and switched his attention to Olivia, who had heard everything as well.

Since the day before, Olivia had been deep in thought, and she still was.

Ever since she had heard about bloodlines, her interest had been piqued.

"What exactly are bloodlines, and how do I awaken my bloodline? Wait, can everyone even awaken their bloodline, in the first place, or is that some sort of privilege for powerful entities?" She thus asked, lightly caressing her soft chin.

This made it seem as if Olivia was trying to imitate an old man caressing his beard.

Liam's knowledge about bloodlines was not that vast, but he could summarize it in simplified terms.

"A bloodline is similar to a Soultrait. Not everyone can awaken a bloodline. It's pretty rare, in fact. However, not only beings with great power can awaken a bloodline. Ordinary beings can awaken bloodlines as well. You should make use of Feliica's ability to find out more.

However, keep in mind that bloodlines will have certain flaws. The stronger a bloodline, the more apparent the flaws. But it will be worth it…most of the time, at least."

Directing Olivia to Felicia was the best he could do. In order to make good use of Felicia's Soultrait, they had to use it as often as possible.

Knowledge was power, and Felicia's Soultrait could provide them with as much knowledge as they could afford.

That was extremely helpful and something they should never forget to make use of. Being prepared for all kinds of disasters in exchange for Arcanium was much better than being oblivious to the dangers one was about to face while being rich.

Wealth would lose all its value the moment one died. It was better to make use of it to stay alive, become stronger, and overcome all hurdles thrown in their way.

Olivia's eyes gleamed in hope. She didn't say another word to Liam and rushed over to Felicia, clinging onto her like a leech.

Olivia mumbled something in Felicia's ear, just for the bubbly girl to stare at her best friend with a frown.

'Why is she so excited?!'

Felicia sighed deeply and used her Soultrait. She nodded her head toward Olivia, who squealed out in joy.

'Did she ask whether she has a bloodline to awaken or not?' Liam wondered, looking at the two women with faint interest. However, before he could ask something, his ears perked up and his Devil's Eyes Soultrait was triggered.

The Arcane Kunai shot out of its sheath and flew in his left hand, while is right hand turned into a long, black claw.

"Monsters are coming our way. Get ready to fight!"

As Liam's warning rang throughout the group behind him, the women stiffened. Felicia and Olivia stopped joking around and they unsheathed their weapons. Their movements were smooth and very fast. It was almost as if they had been preparing all their lives for this very moment.

Jennie was not that fast but she readied her crossbow. A small pouch filled with bolts had been attached to the belt and it hung down her waist, allowing her to easily reach for it.

Jennie didn't want to fight anyone, but she knew that there was no way around it. If she wanted to survive, she would have to fight. However, if she could choose how to fight, she would rather keep her distance from the ferocious monsters. That was why she was glad that they found enough crossbows and bolts to use in a long-range attack.

Derek Hael and Hellen Wagner were the first of the newcomers to prepare for the battle. Derek wielded the light longsword he had purchased the day before. However, something about the weapon had changed.

A bright green light now enveloped the entire longsword. Derek swung it around to test the effect of his Soultrait, and he smiled in satisfaction.

Thanks to a single piece of advice Liam had given, Derek was finally able to use his Soultrait. He understood the essence of his Soultrait and comprehended a way to use his Soultrait accurately.

There was no resistance when he slashed out. The air around the blade was naturally pushed away, increasing the velocity of his attacks drastically. That was one of the unique traits of his Soultrait, [Swordgale Aura].

The green aura he had manifested increased the durability and sharpness of his sword, while simultaneously repelling the air around it. It was a great Soultrait for a warrior, and it was one of the reasons why Liam didn't reject Derek immediately.

He knew some powerhouses who had awoken elemental auras, and he wanted to see how far Derek could make it.

But instead of focusing his attention on Derek, or the other women, Liam rushed forward to attack the small group of boars that came their way. He threw the Arcane Kunai in their direction with full force before using their predicted path to move sideways. He avoided their tusks, catched the Arcane Kunai after it reaped the first life, while his right claw dug through the boar's hide and flesh.

His entire claw disappeared inside the boar, which could only squeal in endless pain and twitch violently before it slowed down.

Its entire side had been cut open and it slowly bled to death not long after.

[Half-Mutated Boar(Haltan) has been slayed.]

[+0.1 Arcanium]

Once Liam found out that the boars were animals from Haltan, he didn't pay them much attention. From the information of the Memory Crystal he knew that the animal kingdom of Haltan had begun to develop. They began to accept the surrounding Arcane Power and were growing stronger.

They had evolved to survive in the new world that had been forced onto them, just like the Natives.

But the boars were extremely weak. A single shot with the crossbow of the Silverheart Dwarves was enough to smash their skull completely.

It shouldn't be much of a problem for the others to kill them as well.

At least that was how it was supposed to be.
