Chapter 3

Chapter 3

“Yes, leave it to me!”

[ I’ll send it right away. What are the coordinates? ]

“Oh, here…”

As soon as she gave the coordinates, the Lord immediately sent the object with space movement magic.

Soon, the area around glowed white and something inside floated up. In the pillar of light unique to space movement magic, there was an object she had never seen before floating around.

‘What? Is it a tree fruit…?’

She had never seen this fruit. The outer surface of the dark blue skin was very bumpy. At first, she thought it was a raisin.

Curiosity preceded, so Chryselua touched it with her fingertips.

Whoooong.

“Gasp!”

As soon as she touched her, a sight flashed before her eyes.

Under the dark twilight sky, there was the black sun. A halo of light bent from behind the black sun, and the sky split open with a bright light.

…The breaking of the world.

A rift. A disaster of this world.

The cracks in the sky, like cracks in glass, poured out an unknown brilliance from them and a huge explosion that started from the crack and swallowed everything…

Whoooonngg.

A tremendous roar resounded.

As Chryselua hastily removed her hand from the fruit, the roar that seemed like it would tear her eardrums was gone in an instant.

…What was it?

A rift?

Her heart was thumping and jumping wildly.

Chryselua blinked her big eyes a couple of times in panic. She looked straight up, but the sky was clear with no cracks in sight. Sedition was still busy with busy people.

It seemed that she was the only one who saw something strange.

Perhaps because of the fruit, she tried touching it again though nothing happened again, as if she had just seen an illusion. Fortunately, it seemed that Chryselua’s breathless scream did not reach the Lord beyond the magic tool.

[ Chryselua. ]

“Yes. Lord… How can I keep this?”

At first glance, it looked like an important item, so she thought she should keep it safe before meeting Naskan.

[ I gave it to you, so it’s yours. Do whatever you want. ]

“Yes?”

[ Baby. ]

Chryselua couldn’t ask more. It must be because the Lord’s voice calling her was very serious.

[ …I really love you. ]

“Ah, yes… Me too.”

These were the usual words. The words she always said whenever they ended communication with the magic tool. In the end, she took on the fruit without much explanation and ended the communication with the Lord.

Gazing at the fruit in her hand slowly, she didn’t see the same sight again.

“What did you see… I’m not even drunk.”

Chryselua scratched the back of her head while talking quietly to herself.

‘Let’s stop by the lab first.’

The items the Lord sent seemed very important, so she had to keep them safe until she handed them over to Naskan.

Coincidentally, her work in Sedition was also of that kind.

Chryselua, who was unable to receive the rift mission, devoted her energy to supporting those who were dispatched to the rift. Most of the things they used, such as medicine for wounds and potions for restoring magic, came from her hands.

She was depressed because she didn’t know how to do anything when she was young, but she was glad to have found her talent in a place like this.

Of course, she was confident in keeping such an important item safe from damage.

Since she was going to be busy preparing for the ceremony for a while, she thought she’d leave the thing in the lab for now.

While walking hurriedly, Chryselua suddenly stopped. It was because she smelled some good flowers.

Even from a distance, a splendid sight that could be seen clearly from a distance passed right in front of her. Hair colored like petals and looks that left a strong impression, and an intoxicating atmosphere that seduces the surroundings.

Her eyes went to the tallest person in the group.

Platinum hair, like the sun illuminating the surroundings, and green eyes that contain the greenery. Under the forehead, as if it had been cut from ivory, the eyebrows were slightly frowned, giving the impression of a slightly nervous look.

However, perhaps because of the appearance, there was already the smell of fresh grass.

Chryselua seemed to know whom he was just by looking at his hair.

‘Sol Noctis.’

He was a fairy who was currently performing the best in the Sedition’s spirit class, so he played the most important role in this ceremony. Not only that, but Sol Noctis has a personal connection with Chryselua, although it was quite a long time ago.

After staring blankly, Chryselua met Sol Noctis’s eyes. She seemed to have been caught watching secretly, so she greeted him awkwardly.

“Hi, hi?”

“…Any business with me?”

One or two more wrinkles appeared on his handsome forehead as the fresh light green eyes harbored blatant hostility.

“Business… I was just greeting you out of pleasure.”

“What’s there to make you pleased about me?”

“No, after the ceremony, you return to the spirit realm. If you go, I won’t see you again.”

Chryselua held out his hand.

“Let’s say hello when we run into each other again.”

“Right. I’m leaving here soon, so you’re pleased with that.”

Sol Noctis crossed his arms as he fired away and jerked his head away. Meanwhile, the fairies next to him glanced at her and Sol Noctis and whispered among themselves.

‘Even if this bastard speaks that way, why does he act like that?’

The hand she held out to shake his hands one last time became embarrassing. Soon, Chryselua withdrew her hand and scratched the back of her head while looking elsewhere. To be honest, she hadn’t been comfortable with this fairy since the old days, and she was largely to blame for the relationship between them.

‘Whatever? He’s leaving soon.’

Chryselua shrugged her shoulders.

The fairies had a reason for doing the rift mission. They wanted to enter Sedition on a compulsory basis and graduate as soon as possible with achievements. For Sol Noctis, he could live well even after returning to the spirit realm after the ceremony.

“Khhm. Hmm.”

Sol Noctis kept clearing his throat as if it was uncomfortable. Despite being in such an uncomfortable spot, he did not leave first. It was the same with the fairies who were walking around.

“Anyway, we ended up having the ceremony together. Stop by my lab if you need anything. I’ll even make you a sedative.”

“….”

Still, it was the last time, so she was offering to end it in a friendly manner. Still, Sol Noctis didn’t answer, he only glanced at her with one of those pretty eyes open. Seeing that his face was red, he must have been upset by something else.

Instead, other fairies opened their mouths.

“Ah, Twilight. Can I ask you a favor, too?”

“Me too, me too. The medicine you made the other day was really good.”

“Oh, of course. Come to the lab when you have time.”

It was fortunate that the atmosphere was relieved, thanks to the other fairies who accepted her words. Chryselua bowed appropriately to the fairies and left, saying that she had something to do to prepare for the ceremony.

When she looked back, the fairies, except Sol Noctis were seeing her off and waved at her. Sol Noctis, whom she thought would ignore her, stared at her belatedly. His frown was terrifying.

‘…It’s very tempting to tear him apart. I was just talking to him.’

Even though she told him to come as a favor, maybe, Sol Noctis wouldn’t even come to her lab.

Chryselua, who was walking quite a bit faster than before, saw someone standing in front of the lab building.

‘Huh? I think it resembles someone…’

Two heads taller than her, dark blue hair tied up high in a single line, and an aura like the color of daybreak flowed through him.

When she stopped to take a closer look at his features. His eyes, which had been looking at the buildings as if touring them, turned this way and the cool-looking impression looked at her and smiled wide.

“Twilight!”

Furthermore, after calling a familiar name, he strode toward her.

As he came closer, Chryselua almost snapped her head for having to look up. The golden eyes full of kindness that couldn’t be compared to Sol Noctis looked at her. He did not hesitate to call her twilight, and there was only one being with such a wistful smile on his face.

“…Dawn?”

She uttered the name that came to mind while thinking in doubt. His expression brightened.

“Wow! Is it Dawn?”

“Haha. Ung.”:

“My God, what are you doing here?”

Naskandeolux, the Dawn Dragon.

Nickname Naskan.

Her childhood friend, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time since she started living in Sedition. But now, rather than being happy, she was worried about something else.

“Why didn’t you contact me? The Lord kept looking for you?”

“Is that so? Take this anyway.”

Naskan held out something while pretending to listen, even when she talked about the Lord. What he held out was a glass bottle the length of his forearm containing a clear, golden liquid. As he shook the bottle once, it seemed like a sweet scent wafted out just by looking at it.

“…Alcohol?”

“Right. Hey, let’s have a drink after a long time.”

He said lightly, pretending to pass the glass with his hand.

Looking at the shape and label of the bottle, it was the Duskfell series. This drink was said to have been made by the demons of the underworld. It was a drink that could not be obtained even with money, and it was also the only drink that could intoxicate dragons who were somewhat immune to poison.

“You ignored all of Lord’s contact, yet you brought this?”

“How precious is this?”

“…Could it be that you couldn’t contact me just to get this?”

“Haha!”

At the question, Naskan laughed cheerfully and fiddled with the back of his head. He had a carefree attitude that didn’t worry about anything.
