Bring You Breakfast (1)

At 6:30 in the morning, Fu Songhua and two of his roommates ran to the first floor and knocked on their class monitor’s dorm.

After they had knocked  only twice, the door swiftly opened.

Qin Yuan, who was already dressed neatly and carried a school bag on his back, appeared at the door, but the crack of the door was only opened a little.

“Coming.”

Fu Songhu’s eyes were sharp. He saw another person lying on the other bed inside the room in that short moment and cried out in fear. “Fuck, who’s that?”

Qin Yuan closed the door in passing and indifferently walked forward. “New roommate, just moved in yesterday.”

Fu Songhua’s shocked tone changed. “Who is that? It wasn’t like there was no vacant rooms upstairs. Why is he living here?”

Qin Yuan’s voice could be heard vaguely. “His legs are indisposed.”

Fu Songhua’s mouth opened in shock. “Ahhh, that cripple from Class 9?”

……

Today was the first day of school for the sophomore year, and the mock exam would be carried out for the whole day. Nobody dared to be late nor go in with an empty stomach.

There were already many people inside the canteen on such an early morning.

The group of boys bought breakfast and sat at the corner; Qin Yuan and Fu Songhua sat facing each other. One was as cold as ice, and the other was passionate like the sun; it was like a scene from a painting. Although many girls sitting on the side didn’t dare to approach them, they secretly drifted their gazes toward them.

Fu Songhua shoved a steamed pork bun into his mouth. “Boss, you’re really unlucky for eight lifetimes1. Why did you keep getting troubled by him? How about you switch dorms with me?”

Qin Yuan unhurriedly drank his soy milk and slowly tore open a packaged pastry. “No need.”

Fu Songhua glanced at the small pastries in front of Qin Yuan and extended his hand, wanting to take one. “Hey Boss, what are you eating? Hawthorn pies? Give me one.”

It was common for boys to share their food. Moreover, his relationship with Qin Yuan was close, and they never saw each other as outsiders. But just as he had extended his hand, Qin Yuan’s hand was faster, and he snatched it back.

Fu Songhua looked at him in shock and didn’t say anything.

The hell! Wasn’t it only a small pastry? Did he have to be so extreme? Boss Qin had treated people for more than hundreds of yuan at every turn for dinner, and he had never been like this before!

Another oblivious boy tried to console him. “Just bear with it. Anyway, the class monitor always gets up on time and returns from self-study late at night. He won’t meet him for more than a few minutes every day. Just take him as air.”

He looked at left and right, then mysteriously said in a whisper, “It’s best to provoke that guy less. I heard some scary gossip yesterday.”

Fu Songhua glared at him. “Hurry up and spit it out if you have something to say. Don’t speak like a bapo2, saying half of something and hiding the other half.”

The boy mumbled in a whisper, “I also heard this from the people from Class 9 in private. They said there was a reason why Liu Jun and his gang bullied him.”

Qin Yuan faintly raised his head and looked at him.

Fu Songhua scoffed. “Bullshit. With that kind of arrogant appearance of his, could he be bullied by others?”

The boy urged on, “It’s the truth. I didn’t know where Liu Jun had heard it, but he said his mother is a masseur, and his father is a murderer.”

Fu Songhua and another boy let out a simultaneous “fuck”, and they were almost choked by the bun in shock. “Is that true or not?”

Qin Yuan, who had kept silent, coldly opened his mouth.

“Don’t spread a groundless rumor.” He drank the rest of the soy milk in three gulps and stood up. “You guys can go to the classroom first. I have a little something to do.”

The boy opposite looked at his retreating back and perplexedly asked Fu Songhua, “Is Boss going to buy breakfast again? He ate so much just now; is he not full yet?”

……

The alarm on the phone persistently rang out. Ruan Qingmu groaned and finally struggled from his sleepiness to reach out and switched off the alarm.

The summer’s sun rose earlier; even though it was only a little past 6 in the morning, the sky had already turned bright. The curtains on the students’ dormitory were deliberately made to be thin so that the harsh sun would shine brightly on their eyes.

Ruan Qingmu turned over from the bed and struggled to open his eyes.

He lived in a free, unbridled, luxurious, and ignorant style in his previous life. It was typical for him to sleep until the sun was three poles high3. It was okay if he was poor, but why would he suffer from this kind of baffling restriction after transmigrating to this strange world?

Thinking about the martial arts practice in the past, he would always have a breakthrough once in a while, and his progress was fast. Where would he suffer from such hardship?
