You Can Stroke It Back (1)

Qin Yuan looked at his sudden absent-minded face, reached out for the backpack beside his seat, picked it up, and handed it to Ruan Qingmu. “You don’t need to find someone and borrow it anymore in the future.”

Ruan Qingmu was stunned. He opened the backpack and took a look. There was a set of neat sophomore year’s teaching materials inside.

Opening the books, they looked well-used.

The owner clearly treasured the textbooks. Although there were densely packed notes on them, they weren’t dirty, with no folds and smears on the pages.

“You… You’re lending me these?”

Qin Yuan indifferently said, “You said you wanted to score in the top 100 for both subjects.”

Ruan Qingmu softly muttered, “Oh, right.”

“There were two science classes and one liberal art class in the Honors Class, 104 people in total.” Qin Yuan expressionlessly said, “If you score in the top 100, that will be the bottom line of the Honors Class.”

Ruan Qingmu sighed. “Did I dig a pit for myself?”

Qin Yuan’s brows slightly twitched. “You don’t need to really get in the top 100. Just take your studying more seriously. It’s already good even if you only score higher than half of the whole grade…”

Ruan Qingmu’s lip turned into a loose smile. “Stop, stop. I’ll strive hard to work up to that level.”

During nighttime self-study time, students wrote at a tremendous speed and hurried to do the homework for every course.

Fang Li finished his math homework, turned his head, and looked at Ruan Qingmu who was sitting behind him. He finally couldn’t bear it anymore and said, “That… Why don’t you get your homework done? It needs to be handed in tomorrow.”

Ruan Qingmu didn’t even raise his head. His eyes stared at the English textbook in front of him and he softly muttered something underneath his breath. After a long time, he suddenly raised his head. “Ah, what?”

Fang Li curiously looked at his textbook. The guy only looked at the English book all night long and didn’t even do his homework.

“Have you been memorizing words?”

Ruan Qingmu wanly let out a yawn. “Yes, ah. This goddamn language is truly troublesome.”

He pondered for a while, then casually handed the textbook to Fang Li. “Look at the words table at the back and randomly pick one to ask me. I want to see how much I can remember.”

Fang Li hesitatingly took the textbook. “Which article?”

“Anywhere from the first ten articles is fine.”

Fang Li was slightly frightened.

The school had just started one week and the English teacher hadn’t even finished teaching two articles. If it was ten articles… Did he prepare for the lesson in advance while at home during the summer break?

He casually opened an article. Ruan Qingmu lazily propped his cheek and opened his mouth to recite the words.

It was precise to the finest detail.

Fang Li changed to another article and asked for several more words. It was still all correct.

“Ah, you’re so amazing.” Fang Li put down the book, feeling a little envious. “I always forget after memorizing it. It seems you can memorize so many words from so many articles without forgetting a word. You’re really great.”

Unexpectedly, a head popped up from behind Ruan Qingmu. Bai Jing’s bitter face approached his shoulder. “Ruan-ge, it was fine if you were bedridden during the summer break, but you’ve already worked hard.”

Ruan Qingmu suddenly moved to the side. “Can you not scare people?”

This was already the last row in the classroom. Where did this guy pop out from?

It was a bit bad to be transmigrated into this human shell. All his qinggong* and hearing abilities had gone, and only a light, healthy body was left at his disposal. If this were in the past, there wouldn’t be any living person that his senses couldn’t detect and he would’ve thrown that person over his shoulder long ago.

*T/N:  Qinggong (Lightweight technique): Using it to make your body lighter and jump higher and further.

“Went to pee and came in through the back door.” Bai Jing sat on his chair side-wise. “Hey, sports representative classmate, what are you doing? Do you want to snatch the English representative position too?”

Ruan Qingmu sighed. “I told Old Jian in the office today that I would improve my English and Chinese scores by the time the end-of-the-term exam comes around.”

Liu Jun suddenly stood up with a calm face, picked up his bag, and walked out of the classroom. He extended his leg and kicked the back door.

The nighttime self-study session was also about to end and all the nearby boys had also finished their homework. Seeing Liu Jun go away, they moved in closer.

Huang Ya gave Ruan Qingmu a thumbs up. “Amazing. You’re working to improve yourself in two subjects at once. By making an example of yourself, you can also encourage others to advance!”

Ruan Qingmu squinted at him. “Why don’t we advance together? I’ll take you to fly.”

Huang Ya patted his chest. “Ruan-ge, just make the call and we’ll follow. Fine, you set a target and we’ll do it together!”

They were already in their sophomore year. Although they were all underachievers, they also wanted to do their utmost and learn one or two things before the year was over. It was nobody’s wish to develop in a worse direction.

Ruan Qingmu nodded. “Only to the top 100 ranks.”

“Are you crazy? Our class only has 40 people!”

Ruan Qingmu lightly said, “Top 100 in the entire grade.”

“Puff –” Bai Jin, who had just screwed the lid of a water bottle, sprayed out a mouthful of water.

He reached out and touched Ruan Qingmu’s forehead. “Ruan-ge, do you have a fever?”

Ruan Qingmu expressionlessly slapped his hand away. “Don’t act overly familiar. If you grope me again, I will beat you like Liu Jun.”
