Chapter 34.2

Chapter 34 – Part 2

Everything had changed, and Yurenia was the center of it all.

His eyes deeply reflected Yurenia’s.

She slowly raised her head, the silver-gray eyes reflecting back to his.

Frey liked making eye contact with Yurenia, which would explain the raised corners of his mouth.

Naturally so.

“You knew it wasn’t a dream, didn’t you? Which was why you were distant with Lisandro, too.”

“…That’s right.”

After a long silence, Yurenia replied to his question.

“Then, do you know the reason why the time turned back?”

“I don’t remember everything either. It was rare. I met Regina and I think something happened when I helped her…”

Similar to Yurenia, Frey couldn’t remember anything that might be deemed important, as if the memories had been cut off.

* * *

Perhaps there could be something important in the rest of their memory.

The dream that made Frey recover his past memories, and Yurenia’s friend who made her read the novel.

As Frey suggested, there might be answers they could find if they met with Regina.

The view from outside of the window was already dyed orange with the sunset after Yurenia listened to Frey’s story.

The tea was already cold and his black hair was infused with the orange sunset, giving it a subtle mysterious color.

“Then, did you realize that it was real after seeing the end?”

“Yes, that’s why I said that after the trip. Thank you for saving me.”

It was only then that Yurenia fully understood Frey’s questionable attitude after their return came to light.

For her, the reason why Frey became affectionate to Yurenia was because he remembered her when he regressed.

Yurenia was thankful, and she was thinking of repaying the favor.

The gap that Yurenia remembered between her death and the rest of the timeline was too great.

For she had lived a life in Korea.

Then, wouldn’t it be the same for Frey? Maybe he had lived a different life too, like Yurenia.

“Do you remember anything like this from your past life?”

“Does Noona remember? What was it? Angel?”

“…Is swearing allowed?”

He shook his head and laughed at my harsh reply.

“Not at all. I was only looking for memories before the regression.”

If so then, it could mean that Frey either did not remember or he had never really lived a past life like Yurenia.

And it was not worth lingering over.

Whatever his past life, Frey seemed to have regressed, and if not all, he remembered some important events.

“How about Noona? How much do you remember?”

“I only have a few memories, like you; like the day I died saving you.”

Yurenia did not tell him that she read it in the novel.

If she were to bring it up when she’s not fully confident of it yet, it would only be baseless.

No, Yurenia did not think that Frey would not believe her, but… she wasn’t sure herself if it were even right to refer to it as a ‘novel.’

“Who is Regina, then? The friend you’ve talked about before was Bliss, right?”

“Regina was the one who brought me and Noona back in time. Bliss, the friend I mentioned last time, was the one who saved me before I regressed.”

Yurenia’s eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected information.

Regina was the one who brought them back.

Frey said that Bliss saved him but what did he mean by she’s up to something?

What’s Frey’s reason for cutting ties with Bliss, when he could keep her by his side since she saved him?

After he thought about my question, Frey frowned apologetically.

“I’m sorry. It’s hard to know what to say at the moment because I am still unsure. I cannot even find the right words.”

“Then, will we be able to find out if we were to go to Regina?”

“Probably. I think we will be able to learn everything Noona and I are curious about. Anyhow, you’re the one who caused the regression.”

However, Frey couldn’t just blindly approach Regina, when he didn’t know where she was.

Even if they were to go on a trip, the obstacle was the temple. Although Yurenia was living in the family’s mansion, she promised to continue volunteering.

Though if Yurenia were to tell them her situation, the temple might let her, but if the rumors will not be subsiding anytime soon, she might only be criticized more.

Yurenia was doing alright, at the same time, she wanted her family and the temple to stop worrying.

Yurenia hoped for something to happen so there would be an opportunity to get away with it.

She was thinking of playing sick.

However, Yurenia would be away for a long time, and if rumors were to spread that she caught a deadly disease, it would only cause problems.

Still, she wanted to go to the place where Frey and Regina first met.

Would Yurenia be able to remember something if she were to go?

“Do you remember where you met Regina?”

“Of course.”

“I also want to go there.”

“I’ve already been there, but there’s nothing.”

Yurenia knew she didn’t have to go. There’s no way Frey hadn’t examined every nook and cranny.

However, Yurenia thought that it wouldn’t be possible for her not to remember something if she were to return to the place she went before their regression.

“You don’t know what people are capable of. I might be able to remember something. I have a hunch that something like that will happen. Can’t I?”

Yurenia thought that she might get a clue of something.

For her, it was nothing before the regression, and now it was about her.

In other words, Yurenia was not in a position anymore to just leisurely let things be.

At Yurenia’s request, Frey smiled softly and opened his mouth.

“That’s absurd. If Noona wants to go, then let’s go together. Please think about it and inform me.”

When Frey willingly accepted it, Yurenia thought about how she could leave and get away from the mansion for a long time, but her body suddenly stiffened in horror.

She barely managed to open her quivering lips.

“You… You said you remember.”

“Yes. Why did you suddenly stiffen?”

Frey stroked Yurenia’s hair, trying to ease her.

Yurenia choked and chewed her lips at Frey’s gentle touch without realizing it.

“Noona.”

Frey gently called Yurenia and brushed her lips.

Yurenia’s mind was only filled with the thought that she wasn’t the only one anymore who remembered the past after she heard Frey’s story, however for a moment, she had forgotten the most important thing.

Frey had met Lisandro.

With his past memories.

“…But why did you come back to us?”

“…….”

“How,”

How…

“Were you able to endure seeing Lisandro again?”

The one who made Frey suffer in the depths of hell.

How was Frey able to see Lisandro eye to eye?

How was Frey able to remain calm and sane after that?
