Chapter 35 – Part 1

I sat in the living room for a while, immersed in my thoughts. I couldn’t do anything.

It was already late at night.

Frey’s seat was empty, and even the refreshments were removed. The drawing room was dark because they were told not to light candles. As I quietly looked out of the window, the sound of the small chirping insects on a quiet night calmed my pounding heart.

“Because noona is here.”

A low voice reached my ears like a sweet breath. My fingertips on top of my knee flinched in response.

“I’m in a place where noona could reach me if you stretch your hand, though I don’t think I could last long if it was Lisandro.”

My lips were dry as I swallowed my dry saliva.

His seductively red lips stood out. He was more beautiful than the flowers in full bloom. Tracing my cheeks while tugging his lips into a clear smile, his sculptural face inched closer to me, and his hot breath touched my ear.

“I became anxious enough, or even more, to endure all of that.”

“So, Yuni.”

His lips seemed to have lightly touched my ear.

“It means that I won’t make trouble now.”

His gently folding and golden eyes under his long eyelashes were directed only to me. It shone so brightly as it contained my figure, as if anything else didn’t matter. His terrifyingly beautiful smile seemed to bind my whole body, and his breath was burning my ear.

“So, please take good care of me, noona. I’ll protect you this time, so the end won’t be not death or death.”

“Me dying for noona won’t happen, and vice versa.”

Saying so, he pulled back and gazed at me face to face.

“Knowing who will be the b*stard standing next to you when I die, I will die first.”

An unfamiliar face I have never seen before.

When the words I heard for the first time came out of his mouth, it felt like a seductive devil was standing in front of me and bewitching me.

“That sight…”

Dragging the end of his words, he put his forehead on mine, a bored smile, and whispered softly, “I won’t be able to look at that even if I die.”

My body flinched as my whole body was only focused on him. The touch of his fingertips tracing my jawline was still vivid. Even though it was only a small contact, it was enough to make me swallow my dry saliva.

Eventually, I screamed in the air.

“Crazy! You’re crazy!”

I usually don’t think that he was crazy, but this bastard is good-looking. It would make you feel the emotions that weren’t there in the beginning. How could a person be so charming…? I was almost shaken for a moment.

“Wow…”

He was so handsome that I couldn’t even speak, he was so handsome that I couldn’t think straight… I also couldn’t collect myself and only praised his appearance.

For one, I really didn’t know how to describe his appearance as I only knew simple things like ‘pretty like a flower.’

…Wouldn’t one curse first if someone was too handsome or pretty? That was exactly how I felt. It wasn’t an ordinary curse either—The curse words that tickled my throat was scathing enough to have a bleep censor from beginning to end.

Don’t you sometimes feel that way when a handsome man does something exciting rather than you being excited because he likes you? It was like that… suddenly making my heart pound.

“Why are you so handsome…? Can a person look like that?”

It’s a merciless beauty.

“It’s not only your face that looks beautiful, your body’s also very pronounced. You’re very alluring yourself.”

I was only talking like a pervert for some reason, but it was really perverted… Though I wasn’t complacent enough to say that I am perverted.

Closing his mouth, he leaned his chin on the sofa and glanced outside. Frey’s deep and profound eyes lit up again.

What is he thinking? Did he really put up with Lisandro for me? If so, how am I supposed to feel?

“Regina…”

…Will meeting that person solve all my questions? Would it do me good to meet that person?

I decided to go with Frey to find the place where Regina was after not being able to sleep until dawn and thinking about it, what the novel was about and why it brought Frey me and back–all of it.

Perhaps, because of the rumors about me, Lisandro appeared in front of me the next day as the rumors died down. Frey was there, too.

I was leaning on Lisandro’s arm while pretending to read a book and taking a peek at him.

His refined jaws, straight shoulders, long arms and legs, and his mysteriously beautiful face–he was really, insanely pretty. He was so pretty that I lost my mind for a moment.

As if all that happened that day was only a dream, he was as polite and courteous as usual. He seemed to be keeping a reasonable distance even though that low voice seemed to linger around my ears and my whole body.

“Will you continue being like this, noona?”

“No.”

Frey turned his face to me with my answer and looked at me. He seemed to know that I was looking at him from the beginning when I saw his bright smile. Meanwhile, Lisandro propped on my back at Frey’s words and turned his body. It left him with a thud on the back of his head.

“Ah! Why did you suddenly turn your body?!”

“Stop Frey!”

It would be a sin not to see his beauty. It was even more strange that my eyes never left that face.

“Don’t I look handsome, too?”

“Uuh.”

I immediately frowned at Lisandro’s words, lowering my foot on Frey’s lap and moving away from Lisandro.

“How shameless, how shameless.”

“You know that noonim is only obsessed with my appearance, right?”

“Uuh.”

“….”

Thank you so much for always supporting the novels I work on, even if you don’t buy me a coffee, I really do appreciate it a lot. ❤︎
