Chapter 56 56. Demon Clan Order.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"Tsk... Just a second late." Kevin clicked his tongue and got up from the bed to switch the beeping sounds. He once again lost the race with the alarm clock.

It was one of the dwarven gadgets, similar to the alarm clock on earth, created to know the time.

On Ventra, the day was divided into three parts, which were morning, afternoon, and Night.

Kevin was an early bird, so he woke up at the earliest hour in the morning.

[Huh, you are still no match for Michael.] As Kevin proceeded to get dressed, he heard Michael's voice inside his head.

"Do you even need sleep? Hmph! As if..." Kevin rolled his eyes and shook his head before saying anything further.

As his comprehension of [Michael Descends] increased with practice, he felt closer to Michael with each passing day. So he knew about Michael's narcissistic side.

Splash- Splash-

Kevin washed his face and took his gymnastic clothes out of his wardrobe.

It was a suit specially designed for the students of the academy for training purposes.

As another dwarven product imbued with elven magic, the suit did not require washing and cleaning.

It could increase the mass around its user with space magic, and the students used that to train and strengthen their bodies faster.

The suit was comfortable for any shape and size.

It also had very high resistance against heat, wind, and water and if used properly, then the suit was durable enough to sustain even after graduation.

"Haaa..." However, in Kevin's case, the story was different.

[That mustache man will not give you this cloth again. It's already your third for this year.] Michael commented as he saw Kevin's suit tattered in some places.

"I know, okay? But I can't wear the suit you gave me, since it is mandatory to wear this suit in the academy." Kevin replied while wearing the track pants of the suit.

Because of Kevin's training style, all of the claims about the durability of the suit were useless.

His suit was torn as he used it to the fullest, breaking its limits.

He even antagonized the student province storekeeper as he showed him the torn suit earlier.

It was an insult to the academy since no one ever asked for multiple training suits except for the fourth-year hunters.

Swish- Zip-

He wore his shoes, another dwarven gadget that increased the weight on the wearer's legs accordingly, a part of his agility training.

"Then, I leave." Saying so, Kevin left.

But there was someone on his bed who smiled a little after hearing him.

Lying next to Kevin was a beautiful and sly girl.

With her honey blonde hair breaded and lying on her back, she moved and the sheet covering her blanket slid down, revealing her red lingering.

Her long eyelashes fluttered and opening her pair of two beautiful eyes, she saw Kevin go out.

She looked as beautiful as a princess.

Of course, she was none other than Amaya Fluger, the third princess of the Kingdom Fluger.

After the incident, she came to his dorm frequently. Using the excuse of the nightmares of that incident, Amaya managed to spend more time with Kevin.

However, Kevin still did not open up completely.

"Ahn! Well... Looks like I should leave as well." After several minutes, Amaya also left Kevin's dorm and went to her room.

Meanwhile, Kevin dashed out of the hostel and went to a secluded area.

His running speed was so fast that it only left a trace of wind behind.

"Now then Michael, let's begin!" Kevin said with brimming energy.

[Sure.] Michael also responded.

...

Kevin's training was divided into four major parts.

Body strengthening, movement and agility, fighting technique, and [Michael Descends.]

Body strengthening was further divided into muscle training, running, stamina development, and resistance.

Movement and agility were necessary for his reaction speed. To counter, defend, and offend, one must have perfect body movement and high speed.

Fighting technique was the most important. In the past, he blanked out at the most crucial moment in battles which caused disastrous results.

A fighting style helped him to develop battle awareness as well as increased his weapon efficiency in battle.

According to Michael, anything that can be used to damage the enemy is a weapon, so Kevin also practiced various weapons such as different types of swords, spears, and even sticks, and stones.

Last but not least was [Michael Descends].

Kevin's biggest trump card.

To turn the tides, [Michael Descends] was the greatest weapon in his arsenal. It gave Kevin a feeling of the invincible.

The particular objective of the previous three was to help Kevin use [Michael Descends] efficiently and for a longer time.

...

Swoosh- Swoosh- Swoosh-

Standing in front of a huge tree,

"Huff... Huff..." Kevin kept on repeating some motion techniques and punched in the air.

For the past two years, he practiced a specific set of exercises that boosted his growth.

But Michael wasn't satisfied with this, he wanted the best from Kevin.

[Kevin...] To bring up his point, Michael called out to Kevin.

"Huff... What is it, Michael?"

[What do you think of fighting, Kevin?] But Michael questioned him about something unexpected.

"Hmm... It depends on the enemy." Kevin stopped his training and wiped his sweat and answered after some time. [Explain.]

"Fighting depends on the type of enemy," His confident and focused figure was glistening as Kevin answered and concentrated on Michael's next words.

[Not bad, however, Kevin, you must understand something before fighting.

With different races the fighting style and the purpose of fighting should be different.] Michael started his lesson,

[When you fight with orcs, they might be blunt with their words and look evil but that is not the case.

Orcs are prideful and trustworthy if befriended, all you need is brute force to make them understand.

Michael waited for Kevin to grasp and continued,

[For elves, their character is arrogant and wicked. As they are born with naturally superior magic, they think too highly of themselves.

You must know everything about magic to become superior to them.

Since brute force does not work on elves, you'll need to be strong and efficient at magic.]

[As for the dwarves, they are foul-mouthed but straight with their words.

You must be good at the usage of weapons. Since they create the weapons, they use them far more efficiently than you.

If treated properly, no better ally race can replace dwarves.

All these races will not trouble you unless you do something to harm them.

But for demons...] Michael did not complete his sentence. Instead, he waited for Kevin's answer.

"They are petty, prideful, arrogant, bloodthirsty, and ignorant. They are the ones to attack first.

As a demon uses any means to fight, it needs to be eliminated before it turns out to be a greater threat." Kevin answered.

[You are right and wrong at the same time.]

"Hm? How?"

[Demons are different from other races except for one. Can you tell me which one?] Michael again questioned Kevin.

"... Humans?" After contemplating for a minute Kevin answered.

[Indeed.] Michael was satisfied, so he explained further.

[Demons are similar to humans. Both use all means to defeat their opponent and are always the first to strike. But there is one major difference between the two.

Since humans fear death, they strive to survive. Humans change with time, as their life is short they try to achieve things quickly and desperately.

On the other hand, Demons are different. If they find a way to obtain something, they milk it until it dries down. They do not change, unlike humans.

Because of that reason, their fighting style is still predictable.]

"Predictable fighting style means their order right? First, they will torment, then get provoked, and then attack with complete power, right?"

[Yes, and because of that same reason, they still have that Clan Order.]

"Clan Order? What is that?" Kevin wanted to know more.

[At this moment, all I can tell you is,

Demons have a seven clan order that works under their lord.

Pride, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth, and Greed. And they all have a definite way of fighting.]

...

[A/N: Let's work on the world-building and Kevin's character-building.]
