Juluth1previously spelt as Julus,  I decided to change it to th cos it just looked better that way lol. Previous chapters has also been amended, Evelyn’s 1st daughter, Percival’s maternal cousin

Flavia, Evelyn’s 2nd daughter, Percival’s maternal cousin

I looked at the delicious-looking snacks and refreshments lined up on the table, and as I was carefully examining which one to start with, I realised.

……I can eat as much as I like, so there is no need to examine them. Why don’t I just eat them in order from one end to the other?

“Please put as many pastries on the plate as you can, starting from here.”

When I said that, the person in charge of serving nodded with a smile. Since I’ve been staying in this castle for a long time, the servants already know about my extraordinary obsession with food.

“Hey, you!”

As I wait for my share of the pastries, I’m suddenly shouted at from behind. I turned around while praying that it wasn’t me who was called and sure enough, there stood Flavia with a disgruntled look on her face. I have a feeling that something very troublesome is going to happen.

“……Could you be calling me?”

“Yes, that’s right. You’re being a bit too friendly with Percy. Percy is my would-be fiancé.”

……I don’t think I got that vibe from Madam Adeline or Percival earlier. Is this the sort of thing you’re assuming? If I say something bad, she’ll probably make a fuss again and cause trouble for everyone around us, so it’s probably best not to provoke her too much.

“Is that so? If that’s all you need, then excuse me.”

Without dealing with Flavia, I turned to the table lined with pastries again. That must have upset her nerves.

“What’s with that attitude! You’re rude! Under the law of the Goddess, I exercise my power! Cut to pieces, O wind!’

“Eh? Are you insane?”

An enraged Flavia threw a blade of wind at me. The blades, whose trajectory was unstable, scattered not only at me but also all around me.

Immediately cancel out all the wind with magic. It’s a dangerous place where people in the surroundings will get seriously injured. If you can use this much magic before entering the academy, your magical power must be high, but you’re disqualified as a magician.

Is she too spoiled at home, or is there something depressing? It’s an easy-to-understand way to throw a tantrum, but in any case, it’s out of the ordinary.

Flavia stood there with surprise plastered on her face, perhaps surprised that I had used magic without chanting.

“……Your magic is unpredictable. The trajectory is messed up, and if you had done it badly, you would have been in big trouble. And it seems you want to be Percival’s fiancée, but do you think the serious and righteous Percival would choose someone who would attack someone with magic just because she doesn’t like the person she’s with?”

When I said that, Flavia’s face turned bright red in anger.

“Wh-what? I know who you are! You’re not just a commoner! You’re just a commoner and you’re standing next to Percy! And your clothes don’t even suit you, they don’t fit you! Unsightly!”

I wonder what kind of people you mean by ‘just a commoner’ and ‘not just a commoner2She contradicted herself by first saying that Sapphiras is not just (an ordinary) commoner, but then says ‘despite being just a commoner, you’re standing next to Percy”, but this outfit was provided by Madam Adeline, who just now told me that I look good in it.

“It’s true that I am a commoner. At least, I think I know more about how to behave at a tea party than you, who is supposed to be a noble daughter. You’re going to cause trouble to Madam Adeline. Besides, Madam Adeline and Sandrion-san spent a lot of time preparing several days in advance to sincerely entertain the people they invited. But if someone had been injured by your magic, the tea party would have been cancelled right there. All the preparation the two have done would have been for nothing.”

……Don’t be arrogant!”

“Arrogant? I’ve just said something quite sensible and normal, haven’t I?”

My righteous argument, which came from a rival in Flavia’s mind, seems to have stimulated her self-esteem. Flavia starts chanting again to strike out her emotions with magic.

“Under the law of the Goddess…!?”

When the tip of my wand touched the tip of Flavia’s nose, she stopped moving. Mufufu, a capable magician always has his wand close at hand. By the way, today it’s the Palo Santo wand.

The magic power that flowed was very little, so she quickly regained her movement.

“Wh-what was that……you did something weird to me!”

Thinking that her magic could be stopped, Flavia raised her hand and turned to a physical attack. When I was wondering if she was still going to do it, Percival stood in front of me like a shield.

“Sapphiras, are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

Seeing Percival, who called out to me first, Flavia made a despairing expression. I know it’s a little late for this, but you shouldn’t do anything inconvenient if someone you like finds out. And moreover, we’re in the same venue, so it is strange to think that we are not being watched.

“Flavia, for goodness sake!”

“A-aunt……”

Madam Adeline’s exhortation flies. Isn’t that usually the scene where her mother would scold her?

“Now you know, Evelyn. You’ve neglected Flavia too much. If you let her enter the academy, she will be in even bigger trouble than she already is.”

I see, she’s going to enrol at the academy too. Basically, if we’re in different grades, we don’t really get to know each other, but sometimes we meet by chance in the cafeteria or the library. I don’t want to accidentally face each other and get in trouble. I want to live peacefully at the academy.

“……So-sorry sister……Sapphiras-san, I am also sorry that Flavia was rude to you.”

Evelyn-san bows her head towards me.

“No, nothing in particular happened, so it’s okay.”

In fact, there was no damage to me or the venue.

“Flavia, don’t you have something to say to Sapphiras-san?

When prompted by Madam Adeline, Flavia glared at me and silently turned on her heel and ran off. I don’t mind if she doesn’t apologise, but Madam Adeline’s mental image would have deteriorated. If you’re aiming to be Percival’s spouse, you should refrain from behaving in a way that would raise the eyebrows of your future mother-in-law.

I glance at Evelyn-san. Evelyn-san looked as if she didn’t know what to do.

“I don’t know what Cornelius and you think of Flavia’s future, but the Belisario family will not choose that girl as Percy’s spouse.”

“…..Yes, sister……excuse me.”

Evelyn-san bowed to me once more and followed Flavia.

“I’m sorry, Sapphiras-san. I’m glad you weren’t hurt.”

“No, I rarely get hurt.”

“Ufufu, as expected of Sapphiras-san, you’re very reliable. Even so, Flavia is really a trouble. I didn’t mean to meddle too much in Evelyn’s affairs, but I’m afraid she’ll do something irreversible one day if she continues like this.

Madam Adeline sighs deeply.

She says that her father, Cornelius, has spoiled Flavia a lot because she has been able to use magic to a certain extent since she was a little girl. On the other hand, her elder sister, Juluth, is not as good a magician as Flavia, even though she has magical powers, so Cornelius rarely pays attention to her, even though she is his daughter as well.

The story somehow reminds me of a certain Earl.

It seems that Evelyn-san, who felt sorry for her, is said to be focusing her attention only on Juluth.

“Cornelius spoils Flavia more than he should, so she won’t listen to Evelyn. After all, Cornelius said he would let Flavia marry into our house. Cornelius couldn’t have made such a decision on his own, but she took it in stride……”

I see. It is true that Percival is the Knight of the Sun, and if her father says so, it is no wonder she is so inclined to do so. Marriages between aristocrats are often decided by parents on their own.

“That’s why, Percy and Flavia’s engagement will never happen. Don’t worry, Sapphiras-san.”

“Ha, haaa……”

For some reason, to me, Madam Adeline denied Percival’s engagement.

Well, it would be difficult for Percival to continue being an adventurer if someone like Flavia became his wife. Because he won’t be able to leave the house in peace.

“Anyway, I’m glad it didn’t turn out to be a big deal. I hope you can forget the unpleasantness after this and enjoy yourself.”

“Yes, without hesitation.”

Madam Adeline went to the other guests to change the atmosphere of the tea party, which had become a little bit unsettled. Even though they are relatives of hers, they have come all the way, so she wants them to enjoy herself and go home.

“Amazing, Sapphiras-kun, that you could talk down the tantrum princess. I try to run away as soon as I see her.”

I wonder if her father, Cornelius, is aware that his daughter, whom he adores so much, is called such a name and hated by those around her. However, Dylan-san, who has excellent swordsmanship skills, immediately retreats just by seeing her, so this might be the strongest technique to win without a fight.

“Sapphiras,”

Percival brings me, who is talking to Dylan-san, a plate with sweets on it. They range from the unusual to the ones that have become my favourites here.

“Thank you, I finally have some sweets.”

I gratefully accepted the plate.

“……What, Percy, you’re being very generous……eh? No way, could it be, is that really what you mean?”

“Dylan-san was saying something, but I decided to concentrate on the plate in front of me for now. After all, I’ve got a table to conquer.
